also, you only need to unbolt the exhaust and let it hang down. turn the wheel to the left fully. if you can remove the outers slide the rack to the right and it will come right out. Mine were seized on, I had to flip the rack 180 degrees, force it to the right until the left outer dropped, then slid the whole assembly out. Didnt remove any exhaust parts or shift linkages.

the steering racks in these are actually pretty stout from the factory. All you gotta do is replace the rack end bushing which was $20 from the dealership. Steering is super tight, no more rattle. very impressed given the rack has 267K miles on it and the previous owner drove it for months with a dry rack.

I tried to install the camber kit in the center and let the shop do the alignment, as my shop is one mile down the road... FAIL... backstory... the shop tried to align before the camber kit. said it needed the kit to get the camber right. I bought it and installed. They now said its too low and they can't even put the alignment machine part on the car. I told them you already aligned it once...lol... So I guess i will be roughing on the camber myself. I think the camber was so negative the "new" tech was overwhelmed. I will take it back to them to tweak it when the "master tech" is on duty! ;).
@GarageBuiltHondas5 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's terrible. I've been lucky that the master tech send my local Martin Tire shop has been there for s long time. He always takes care of me and sets my camber to whatever I want. I'm sure they'll be able to get you sorted out.
@redraif5 жыл бұрын
Well I just spent and hour in the garage with an angle finder... zeroed a digital level on the floor and measured against the rim. adjusted till I was at about 2% negative camber. Car already drives better. I was way negative. About rubbing on the spindles at install. So fingers crossed. ;)

Love your new setup brotha! Btw is that Firestone you took your car to get an alignment? I have lifetime alignment over there, and i seen them use that new alignment equipment when i had my old wheels, but now that I recently bought some new mag blue te37s, i'm a little bit worried about the faces possibly getting scratched by the new equipment. How was your experience?
@GarageBuiltHondas7 жыл бұрын
Perfect experience! I go to Martin Tire. The sensors that they have are lined with rubber on the faces so there is no possible damage at all to the faces. I imagine the only damage would be if they dropped the sensor and the plastic part hit the face but doubt that will happen. I only go there now because I've been going there for the last 5 years and know the head technician very well so he takes better care of all the wheels/tires and alignments for me. How much is the lifetime alignment? I might consider that for my track car instead since I align it maybe 2-3 times a year.
@BillyTheFilipino7 жыл бұрын
Oh that's awesome! I purchased the lifetime alignment at Firestone when they had a special deal going on which was $175, regular price is $200 ( but they don't adjust camber with that price or provide that option for lifetime warranty.)

Ok, will do! Hey singlecams, got a question for you. I've watched a bunch of your videos on the comparison of the handheld impact wrenches/guns. I need one for track days, something to take off all the lug nuts and knock loose the front subframe bolts, and maybe use it for other random parts here and there. What would you suggest?
@singlecams7 жыл бұрын
hey buddy I would say see whichever price you like better between these 2 they are the big size models and can do lug nuts and more the first is called: Milwaukee 2763-22 the 2nd one is called Dewalt DCF899HP2 they both are just as powerful as most air compressor setups too. If you just want 1 gun those are the best options. Milwaukee has some other tools you can use the same 18v batteries on like smaller compact impacts that would be good for the track for just lugnuts and smaller jobs. They also have a 12v lineup and have a cordless ratchet , i posted a video of that too it's no where as powerful as an air ratchet but very handy.

Yes, and R12 works 10x better. R134a in 100 degree weather is tough in stop and go traffic. On the highway or constantly moving forward then it works much better but once you come to a stop the temp rises quickly with R134a. +25 is a hard fit unless you want a lot of camber.
@efn_slow2 жыл бұрын
@@GarageBuiltHondas how much camber would work for that offset? or is there a better offset/wheel size that would work? the wheels I am looking at, avid1 av18, (messed up the wheel brand earlier) come in 15x8+25 on fitment industries. not sure what other sizes there are but for 15x8 thate the only offset available
@efn_slow2 жыл бұрын
the only widths available for 15in diameter are 6.5 and 8. and I'd like a wider wheel if possible. not sure if I can custom order or find them somewhere else. but they're a pretty cheap wheel that still look fairly how I want to get me started as I'm on a pretty tight budget. sadly I do not have the money for te37's or I'd just buy them and get it over with😂

My 90 CRX has a 1.5 drop springs.(S Sport). The UCA camber kit was smacking the inside of my fenders so i had to take them back off. I guess toe is the most important adjustment? How can i tell if my rack end bushing is bad?
@GarageBuiltHondas6 жыл бұрын
+journeyquest1 are your shocks still working fine? With a 1.5" drop there should be no way you're smacking the UCA against the tower unless your shocks are blown causing the car to rebound only with the spring. And a drop spring of 1.5" is generally a pretty soft spring rate. My track car is ran much harder than your daily driver and the front tires are to the fender and it only hits the UCA when I hit a big bump at the track a high speeds. Watch this video, it'll show you how to diagnose a bad rack end bushing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHrWlXqegdKXmcU

I need to rebuild my frontend. I have a new rack unit with outer tie rods and new UCAs. Just did the brakes but i probably need new struts up front before i proceed with rebuild. I will just use stock type UCAs with a good toe adjustment. 1.5 drop probably not a big deal on camber. Any good middle of the road struts you recommend for the front? Thanks
@GarageBuiltHondas6 жыл бұрын
+journeyquest1 I'm a big fan of Tokico Blues. I've been using them since 2001 and have had a few sets on different EF's. For a mild drop you're good, any more than your planned 1.5 and I'd suggest extended top hats.

Yo bro I have a 1991 with and b18a1 LS swap in it . I'm getting a whole new skunk2 suspension but I'm not sure which one to get . The one for Acura integra or the 91 Civic cause it's the b series already in it.
@GarageBuiltHondas5 жыл бұрын
Buy the one made for your car. The engine that's in the car doesn't affect the way the suspension fits into your chassis.

My speedometer and temperature doesn't work know how to fix it?
@GarageBuiltHondas7 жыл бұрын
Jose Hilario First check your speedometer cable when it connects to the back of the cluster, then also at the transmission. Possibly unplugged, if not then the cable might have broken. Temp gauge, check the wiring under the distributor. There is a single plug that the gauge reads off located there. check the plug, then wiring. If that doesn't work for either, then you might just need a new cluster. I've seen a lot that have had non functional gauges.
