SKUNK2 Tuner 2 GSR B18C dyno results

Quick dyno tune video of my car tuned at Hybridworks by Anthony. Bought these SKUNK2 Tuner 2 cams brand new and threw them on with some help from my buddies. Car feels amazing now with an increase of 19 WHP/6 ftlbs of torque. These cams are amazing and exceeded my expectations.

Nice numbers! Was this on pump gas? I Made 186 on the same cams With my gsr on b18c5 pistons. Wish I ported the head when it was apart.

did you have to degree the cams? i’m about to install tuner2 cams in my b16a2 and someone said i need adjustable cam gears to degree the cams or else i’ll have the pistons slap the valves etc. idk if this is true or not but others are saying i don’t need to but adjustable cam gears are good anyway for upping hp when tuning. i’ve got 1 side saying they’re a must or else i’ll blow the engine and the other saying it’s optional. really confused😂

I didn’t degree mine, but I plan to do it in the future to optimize the cams to its full potential. The cams aren’t too aggressive but if you get the pro 2+ series then it’ll be better to check clearances with your valves and pistons to be safe since those cams are much bigger.

I got ctr pistons in my gsr block...i ordered tuner2s and have read alot that the cams need to be degreed...i live in the middle of nowhere..like forreal middle of nowhere..and don't understand the degreeing with a wheel...should i just set the cams at +2 intake and +2 exhaust and go from there😁 i got the computer side of things down... sucker is fairly quick the way it sits..ive got a stock gsr base with fuel trims turned up and timing map similar to itr with it turned down to where wot peak timing is about 27 degrees

Nice setup. I had my tuner do it so I’m not sure how much degree was set, but I had him adjust the power band for mid-range to top-end. Man only if you were in my area lol I would recommend you to my tuner

Thanks! We were on a time crunch so he didn’t get to adjust them but I plan to have them adjusted when I go back for a retune, after I swap out my exhaust which was restricting power.

Just top dead. I plan to get it degreed before I get it retuned. I plan to throw in my vibrant exhaust since the WS2 was restricting power

What’s your set up ? With the block and head ? I built an ls vtec only made 172hp . My tuner said my b16 stock cam was holding me back . You have decent numbers all motor

Motor is a rebuilt Gsr head and block. Head is ported (intake & exhaust) with skunk2 valve train, super tech valves and tuner2 cams. Block is a stock rebuild with PR3 b16 pistons. If your head has upgraded valve train I would recommend getting the cams I got or if you’re looking to keep it oem, get some ctr or itr cams.

@@OutOfOrderMaisounds like a great set up ! , I built an ls vtec . Rebuilt block with wiseco pistons bored a little to 81.5 , eagle rods , acl oil pump . The head I replaced the valve seals , lost motion assembly, springs and retainers . 3 angle valve job , . Stock cams

@@oscarcrx-9099 nice setup! The cams will make a huge difference. What intake manifold, intake, header and exhaust are you running? Those also play a big factor.

@@OutOfOrderMai thanks man ! I rebuilt it myself with KZbin and online forums it’s been a 1 year project so far enjoyed every minute! For intake manifold I have the skunk2 ultra street manifold with 70mm throttle body . Header I have the plm rf v2 the megaphone I believe it’s called . And for exhaust when I got dyno I had straight pipe no exhaust after header . I have purchased a vibrant muffler and vibrant resonator Still not installed . Yes definitely seems like I’m missing the cams!! I’m hoping to see atleast 10-15 hp gain .

I have a gsr motor with oem pistons / port head with ferrera valves / crower valve springs and retainers / plm rf v3 with thé big tube manifold / skunk 2 ultra street with 70mm TB / 2.5 catback exhaust and i have buy skunk 2 tuner 2 .

Head has skunk2 springs and retainers, ported and polished head, super tech valves, milled head and I’m running b16 pistons. Motor is rebuilt

@@watsonville8312 found out my axle back was welded with a 2” pipe to the original 2.5”. I think that’s what’s robbing a lot of power. I need to get it retuned since I got the piping fixed
