It's nice to know that Gimli is doing better. I enjoyed this episode because I'm happy that Barney is doing well and walking on all fours now. Every episode is interesting because they tell us about the integration of the orphans.

What a lovely video!!! Great filming, music & narration. I had to watch a few times as each little story is so interesting. I only wish each video was longer, which is a good thing. I enjoyed watching the little ones. I really found the placement of the feeding cages and how the number bottles would be placed...I tend to enjoy the infrastructure of places. Yawl are doing a great job!

Vervet moms can let other females babysit their babies to get a break. Macaque moms have to constantly be on their guard to keep other females from kidnapping their babies and usually end up killing them. One reason I love vervets more. Vervets are so cool, calm and collected. Macaques are just LOUD and rude! Another reason I prefer vervets. Vervets are beautiful. Thank you for all you do for these primates.

Rotting cabage.....I had that when I was stationed in SKorea. It's called Kimchi and that stuff came out the pours smelling like old FARTS 😫 😫😫😫😂😫😂😫😂😂😫 but it tasted awesome. The Koreans would bury the cabage for months on end in their special pots and with their spices which produced Kimchi

And, do the males have the opportunity to rise in status from things like size, strength, amount of friends/allies, etc? Or, are the rules different in these troops? Thanks again. yes the orphans take on the rank of the foster mums and the males do have oppertunity to take over the troop

I guess poor Sechma won't officially be adopted by a female due to lack of females and lack of Samango's in the troop. Poor little guy, I am sure he will adjust okay but it's just sad he won't actually have a mom. There is no replacement and I hope that doesn't affect him too much. Cutie tho! :)

It is unfortunate but he has a great big brother in Mango and also a big sister in Zea and I'm sure he'll be happy once he's out in the main enclosure.

Once the foster mothers take a baby out into the troop do they have favorite spots they hang out in or just anywhere

Do the monkey from different troops like each other - or do they never come together? Would they fight?

It's called "ALA MOTHERING"? Didn't know there was a technical name for it, or more commonly known as "Kidnapping" or "Aunting".. Also you said Supreme is the eldest of the troup, but how old is she? That would be some good information to give us. And if it's not too much trouble please state the name of the troop when you switch to different Vervet's it really helps us to relate the troops with the members of the troops. Just notice that you guys rarely tell us.

"Allomothering"... sorry accent gets in the way! It's not really the same as kidnapping as the mother is happy to allow juveniles and other adults to take the baby for a while. This is all part of troop dynamics and how the young ones get some experience looking after babies. The oldest in the troop was Honeybear. Thanks for feedback, we'll try to include more information in the future! Sometimes we take these things for granted and forget to mention them for you guys!

3:01 what happend to his neck? Just dirty or injury? OK, guess injury but you didn't even say what the babies name was. Even if you put text on the screen when you transition to differen tshots would be cool with names of whatever monkeys are in the shot and the troop would be a great help as it is confusing at times you have so many monkeys and orphans.

The troop last year actually did foster before and actually had the best foster mom's in it, the reason it skipped a year was that the previouse year it had managed to get its own babies

So it DID sound like aloe mothering 🤣. No worries on the Irish accent. Grandmum was raised in Belfast, mother & her siblings in Glasgow before they emigrated to Australia so accustomed to accents from that part of the world. Plus been to Dublin numerous times when daughter was studying there. Granddaughter was born in Dublin. She had a CUTE accent but now after being back in US it’s all gone ☹️

yes unfortunately every thing clicks here, i think its the earth into the ground, if i record sound on my computer in the office I still get the click, the only way i get it clear is to record voice on my cellphone

We are busy with brush cutting, however the monkeys love the grass and the grass seeds are a source of food, so sometimes good to have it around
