Sky Cottage is situated up a single track road only 2 and a half miles west of the charming village of Kenmore, right in the very heart of Highland Perthshire.
This 5 star self-catering cottage offers exceptionally comfy accommodation for couples looking for a special treat. It’s the ideal place for a honeymoon, a mid week getaway, or a romantic weekend just for two and the opportunity to chill out completely.

I am a retired chimney sweep who was based in just outside Perth, Perthshire, in Scotland, and have swept chimney's in the Loch Tay area. The type of stove shown..I have swept. I love the area..beautiful. for an English guy to be able to travel in the highlands to do my work..was a honor for me, with some great memories of places and people I did work for. I retired and left my business to my son..who I trained on the job..later he trained and got a certificate of successfully completing the course. He had to pass..I trained him. He loves the perthshire area as much as i do. Beautiful country...fantastic scenery. Great memories. My name may ring a few bells. I had the opportunity to sweep the chimneys of castles..mansions..and of course some lovely thatched cottages..and old hotels..I saw places that not many got to see and met people that not many people get to meet. My son..swept the chimney of a famouse Scottish actor from UK TV series..before he he went to Hollywood. I swept the chimney of a certain English MP. No names for privacy reasons. When I swept the MP's chimney..I was invited to stay for lunch. One of the wealthy families up in the highlands got a staff member to bring me tea and biscuits..on a tray..I sat in the main lounge area to eat and drink...my son was with me at the time. At times I took my wife Bea..who was ill at the time..some clients used to ask me to bring her along for a chat...great memories, many lovely people.

I never tired of listening this fiddle music again and again. I studied at Scotland some 35years ago .I like the people , the coutry side and its music which deeply touch to my heart untill now. I like old school decor..I am a romantic at heart. I know a game keeper/stalker..who takes people out to shoot dear (not my thing)..lives other side of the loch..no names for his privacy reasons..his nickname is the moth. The moth because at night with a bottle in hand he wonders around..when he sees a light in a cottage window..he heads straight for it. Lol..tru story. He lives in a lovely white cottage. Anyway..during a conversation, he told me that he came from Edinburgh..one night on his TV..he was watching a prog that showed an old white bearded man sitting by a peat fire, smoking a pipe..no TV etc..old days..from then on he was hooked..now he is living his dream. I myself got hooked when I applied for a job as an estate manager..the interview lasted 8 hours, including lunch..cooked by the owner of the estates wife. I got the job. The only downside was the RAF..flying low over my new home...what a racket. Later I became a chimney sweep..and traveled the highlands plying my trade..loved it all..even the more difficult jobs..how could I not love it..working for myself and getting to see the inside of castles and mansions, as well as many of the older cottages.

I love love love the cottage and the entire outside is heaven - inside it is a bit too light and modern for me - it feels cool to me - Id like it better if it was more old fashioned warm and cozy ...id be constantly worried about breaking things in that cottage - lol!

Journey of the Dawn Treader.. I think the cottage is gorgeous.. If you do not like it...no one is pushing you to go there.... The cottage is light and airy, super clean. I would be delighted to stay here for a holiday.. You would be worried about constantly breaking things, are you going to play rugby inside the cottage...maybe a teeny weeny envious...of that gorgeous cottage.. Australia...

I really enjoyed this video - very professional in tone. Here is a funny story: I was charmed by the fiddle music you used, and I was about to comment to see if you would answer, then saw that you kindly cited it in the description. Much to my delight, I realized I HAVE that album! I must have bought it 15 years ago... and haven't heard it the last 10 or so. I was up at loch tay at a log cabin in sept 20 with my fiance and a couple we are friendly with.. We only live a hr and a bit frm it.. We had a really nice peacefully time, scenery is amazing...IM SO PROUD TO BE FROM SCOTLAND 💙

What a beautiful, beautiful cottage! How lovingly it is kept and decorated. I wonder what the story is of the lucky person or persons who get to live there. Loch Tay is such a beautiful lake. Although this is my first glimpse of it, I have always felt a special affection for it as I grew up hearing Kenneth McKellar's wonderful rendition of the Loch Tay boat song. Beautiful of course! Lovely interior design. Would make a great B & B!! Thanks for sharing part of my ancestral homeland, Aberdeen to be exact. Came to America in 1721, landed in Portsmouth, NH , one wounded at the Battle of Bunker Hill! Feisty Scottish! Warriors...in my blood! Even my first name is Scottish-Irish Gaelic and means "firing sword', "to brand" from the Viking word "brandar". Originated in the Shetland/Orkney islands...very popular name in the 1940s when I was born.

I should write a book..the life and adventures of a chimney sweep in the highlands. 😉😀🤐 A story...on one occasion I was booked to sweep a cottage chimney. The owners said he had had a local man..an old chimney sweep, to sweep his his chimney..smoke was blowing back into the room. Later I was called out as it had got much worse. As soon as I started sweeping I had an idea of what the problem was. As I swept, my idea turned out to be correct, the old boy had lost his brush up inside the chimney, but did not inform his/my client. When I dislodge the old style brush..what was left of it anyway..the client was furious. He asked if he could keep the brush as he was going to take it to the local where the old boy drank to confront the old boy..after all..he had been paid. Well, I had no use for a bald brush..? Word gets around fast up in the highlands. In there is good advice..if you ate having your chimney swept, chose a professional..even then..no guarantee that he will be a good sweep..and in there lies other stories. Lol
