Skyblazer had gameplay elements pretty similar to classics like Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts and Gargoyle's Quest and was mostly on par visually but lacked a little something to really stand out imho.

You realize that you don't have to get every item and you don't have to kill every enemy, right? You waste a lot of time that way.
