When I was 20 years old, I lived with two brothers, John and Bill Siepl. They started skydiving and were passionate about the sport. I wanted to join them, but life got in the way and I was never able to do it. I simply filed it away onto my bucket list.
Fast forward more than 40 years and now that I am retired, I no longer have any excuses for not working on that list. After watching so many friends run the Indy 500 Festival Half-Marathon, last year I started running half-marathons. Earlier this year, I started running ultra-trail races in the jungles of Malaysia. This week, I was finally able to check skydiving off my list, and next year I'm joining my good friend Thomas on a trekking adventure in the Himalayas in Nepal.
I'm not sure who first said this, but "fear is temporary, regrets are forever". If there is something on YOUR bucket list, just do it. Overcome those fears, get out there and live your life to its fullest.
