Absolutely fantastic set of videos! We live in Sweden and spent a week in September on Skye. Made dayhikes along the trail but spent all nights in a rented house. Revisiting the trail sections with your videos was great, and your information video will be very useful when we come back to do the trail "properly". Tnx a million!

So glad I found this video. Thanks for sharing. I planned to just hike half of the trail till Portree. Could you please advise along that stretch from the starting point to The Old Man Stor, where can I find water source to refil my water bottle? Thanks

There is a river around Balmaqueen which worked well, and then there are a couple of lochs on the way up to the Quirang. I would advise to top up at one of these if you can as there isn't much after that. Along the Trotternish Ridge there are only small brown pools, which aren't ideal but might be ok if you have a good water filter

Just found your site. I’m planning on doing Skye trail in may next year. Found this really useful, any tips on how you organise for such great weather? 😂 looking forward to seeing more videos in future 👍

Haha, well if I knew it was gonna be such great weather I could have left half my gear behind! May sounds like a great time to do the trail, you're gonna love it. 👍

Thanks for making this video, very useful information. Can u do this trek by staying in hostels/ bnb? Any information would be appreciated
@jonnyboywander6 ай бұрын
Hey no problem. You could but there's no accommodation around the Storr, so you'd have to get a bus back to Portree. Other than that there is a hostel in Flodigarry and a hotel in Sligachan. You might be able to find some BnB's in Elgol and/or Torrin but you'd probably have to book something well in advance

Nice video and tips added. I am planning to hike in June in Scotland but not decided yet which trail. Maybe combine Great Glen Way with East Highland Way, Isle of Skye Trail, Rob Roy Way... In Scotland , there are a lots of long distance trails to walk.

Thanks! Yea so much to explore in Scotland. The Rob Roy way and West Highland way are definitely on my list

Fantastic set of videos for Skye. Just curious how close is that cliff edge exposure on day 1?
@jonnyboywander Жыл бұрын
Ooh it was pretty darn close. I had to wait about 5min for some sheep to go through before I could actually pass..

Thanks for the great video! I plan on doing the Skye Trail in May. Do you mind sharing the GPX location of your camping spot on the Quiraing? It looks perfect!
@jonnyboywander Жыл бұрын
No problem! I'm pretty sure it was around here; 57°38'11.4"N 6°16'32.4"W You should be able to spot it quite easily, just a bit downhill from the trail.
