Hey skye. For the sorters in the refinery room in order to not get ice but get all the other ores you could have placed two sorters, the first one with a whitelist of all ores and right after that a sorter with a blacklist of ice. This way you wouldn't need to select all the ores one by one.
@YoWhatGoesHere15 күн бұрын
As others have said, for your sparklers you are going to want to either use timer blocks. Don't worry, they look intimidating but as soon as you understand how they work it's really easy. Set each effect to a different trigger. Then using a separate block and a sensor you can tell the other timer blocks to turn on/off as you leave the base. - no need to have them contribute to performance loss when you can't see them. (You can use that for other things like the lights too if you want.) You might also want to build a little "forklift" (basically just a cargo container with thrusters and a seat) that you can swap a miner, welder, etc. to so you have more than just your personal inventory to do your manual tasks.
@samferguson299115 күн бұрын
In case you haven't found it yet, there's a block you can add that allows you to write a script that can be used to automate a lot of stuff. But in this case you can use it to program the emitters. I'm not sure exactly what the block is called, but it's super useful Also, you can group and hide blocks in the menu, so you wouldn't have to scroll past every light panel when you're looking for something

scaffolding blocks are a thing since a few updates ago for the wind turbines. just to give it a bit more strength of u do happen to fly into em, an un-welded light armour block will just smoosh and all the connected power will fall 1000m to the ground. You have so many Large cargo, the sorters could be taken out, Use 'Isy's Inventory Management' script to put the ores, ingots, and components where u want by naming them, almost how u gave done anyway. U can also use the script to manage production of components so u never run out of steel plates or anything else. Its really easy and clean to setup

usefull tips #4 -Assemblers will get full if you refine ALOT of stone -Connectors with Sorters can fix a lot of logitics issues (Valve like) -Solar Power farms can use a custom controller with a rotor(azimuth) and a hindge(elavation) and it will allways look at the sun Bonus PS. Wind turbines effective range is 8 blocks up and sides, meaning the closer to the turbine less efficient it becomes

Hey Skye! Nice work with the refinery, bro. But I noticed that you went through a lot of trouble to exclude ice. I would've gone a different route here. I would've simply whitelisted ores and then, inside the refinery room, add a second filter to blacklist ice, so it wouldn't mess up the refinery machines. And then there are multiple ways to go: either I'd send the ice out on a different path, or I'd build a couple of O2/H2 machines against the back wall to fill a bunch of huge tanks. Using some pipes, these gases could then be distributed all around the base and even fill any tanks one might have on certain ships. And of course, one can also set up a station fed by those tubes, to fill O2 and/or H2 bottles.

On the ends of the windmill arms you should put red and green lights on to use as navigation markers to aid in flight safety. Would recommend red on the left and green on the right (as observed from outside the base looking towards the hangers) as is the correct way to do navigation lights going into a port.

I also found 0.003 on the pistons to be the sweet spot for drilling like this, good to see we came to the same conclusion! For the refinery room; maybe play around with the textures? some concrete on the floors, battered armour for the refineries, dusty catwalks. just a few ideas :) also, if you want some lines on the turbine supports, look into armour panels. you can colour and texture them differently. might give the look you were looking for.

you have two conveyor lines to your refinery area: conveyor in > black list ice - ice will no longer pass it, everything else is fine Conveyor out -> black list nothing -> everything leaves, including any ice in there It's really simple to setup and solves the ice issue entirely without having to use white lists. They are directional too, so they pull and push from one side to the other

Skye, I saw a video on Reddit of someone using the beam blocks to build rails for wheeled vehicles. It would be really cool to have an underground rail system for branch mines. If you can get drills to function on rails, you could potentially make something that mines ahead of itself, sends the resources back to refiners, then projects the next section of rail and welds it up using the resources it just mined and refined. To make a fully automatic underground rail creation system like this will be very challenging and might not even be possible, but I think you might have fun playing with the concept.

Wind Turbines close togther will drop their Optimum Output. There should be 9 Block distance between the nearest object and the Wind Turbine. There is a circular field around the wind turbine blades which has to be interference free for it's best performance. This the reason why placing Turbines in different directions doesn't cause issues with it's working.

if you are not adverse to mods i recommend a gravel sifter. Its a mod that adds a device, that turns gravel into decimals worth of ore. Good for disposal of excess gravel but you can't rely on them for resources unless you use one with an insane output.

That drill is looking good, for good measure it may be nice to add a centered vertical drill mechanism on a piston pushing up; more income and ready for a level up if needed. That nice working mechanism may be very efficient but not pleasing the eyes in term of aesthetic... it could hold it's weight in reduced gravity but not in normal, the drill head are some much heavier than the tubes holding them... with top drill it would make both more efficient and more nice looking(more balanced). Especially if you add ''head'' lights. Thank you!

The refinery area looks great. But there should be a hazard tape on the pipes going from and to the refineries because you could bang your head on them. Not the entire pipe, just a small strip, if it's not just leave them black and hope no one flies into them, because. Secondly maby change the rotating lights to red/yellow-ish (think the colour is called amber in English). In real life it would be pointless to have a rotating warning light on top or the refineries, nothing is moving, but it might give some more ambiance of industrial environment. 13:03 And some expanded metal mesh over the pipes in the main corridor, so people don't fall into them. 😊

The drills have conveyor ports, they dont hold on to components buy can move then. So you can grind one and trow the components in the system tru the other. You can also use then to get the components you need to build something. So you can build one and get the components to build the others from the first one.
