What great film, certainly one that deserves to be watched. 8/10 for me, would have been more but the ending let it down slightly, overall characters were solid and believable.

The English writer AC Clarke also proposed an identical device, based on astrophysics and engineering. The only and major snag was that it had no practical application.

Certainly not as bad as the IMDB comments describes it. Acting is good for this style. Rhythm is not bad for this type of budget. This is more like a made-for-TV production, barely any special effect, lots of actor play, although there are chances that it wouldn't get any funding today since the bad guy is Black and is holding hostage and terrorizing an old White man and his daughter. This would most certainly be a no-go today but it wasn't in 2012. How times are changing. If you set your mind for a TV production this is not bad.
