Yeah it's mental by I'm usually by the coast just in case i have to land. After many flights one gets confident with there setup and that's when you cross open water for miles. My SH is currently apart under going a TBO haha.

Compellingly brilliant and beautiful flight. This plane has really hit your creative spot. Are you using an OSD or autopilot? I'm impressed that it can carry so much - I'm assuming you managed to wedge the 2200 pack in somehow? Useful advice in your description - keep blazing those trails geezer!
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks a tonne for your thorough response mate. I'm using the Cyclop Storm OSD and she's powered separately with a 3s 1200mah and yet she can carry so much more. The 16,000mah 4s is no issue for her. Flies and tracks so nicely. A superb design with this platform. Cheers mate.

the 1.5w 1.2ghz transmitter will disrupt the servos and GPS and auto pilot derectly
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
It could depending on your setup and/or shielding. This is why I now use 800mw vTx. The antenna is much more important than the mw power.
@camaro920268 жыл бұрын
Aero FPV I learned from you and did the same 800mw 1.2vtx and L9R with a XJT module and 2w booster. I'm going with a left hand CP pepper box and air blade so I can fly with a right hand CP friend. have you had any interference problems with your right hand Buddies? what channel's did you use with them?
@pasifpv55088 жыл бұрын
nice, i once used my l9r with 1.3ghz but it was crap! i even used an notch filter on the vtx
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Yea that stinks. There are several variables to find by trial & error to make things work in balance. I've been thru that and at times was frustrated but don't give up because when you find that sweet spot it is surreal man. I'm out 3+ miles / 5km and not high up and my video is almost 99% flicker/snow free. Again it's finding that sweet spot. Log your component setup during tests flights and reconfigure. I occasionally go to the field with many components and have several experimental flights that day to dial in my FPV gear.
@crabby636r8 жыл бұрын
Any chance you'd be willing to make a video of your components and where you put them? I too am getting into FPV and I like to see what other people are doing and what they are using

I have a simple GS. I only use a 1.2/3 GHz VAS pepperbox antenna with a 9" monitor. No diversity I highly recommend a high gain 13+dbi antenna for long range. It has a superb 120 degree FOV so I have no issues on any oval far out missions.

@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Hi mate .... with a stock 1db tx antenna I would get 5km max and with a 5db tx antenna mod you can get 8+km safely. A simple great 2.4gHz range range with the X9D tx.

Very nice Aero, what is the range of the L9R?
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eduardo ... with a stock 1db tx 3 miles / 5km is normal and with a mod 5db antenna on the X9D one can expect 5 miles / 8+ km in a low RF noise environment. For 2.4 frequency that is very impressive.
@EduardoFritisRealtor8 жыл бұрын

sweet flying as always :) Im scared when flying over/near houses.Maybe you can put some music over the video next time? :)
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks. My setup has an external BEC so even if the motor, prop, ESC, lipo voltage, etc were to die I still have full control of her and can land her where I want. Some subscribers ask me for an all natural (no music, only wind) flights and so I mix my videos up a bit for my viewers. But heck yea I will add some cool music to my next video. Thanks for the feedback man. Awesome!

öhm.Im interessted on the mini skyhunter(because donthave a car,still in school ;) ) .Do you think it will carry the gopro with a pantilt?
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Hey that's a great little airplane but way to small for the GoPro with PNT. Since shes a 3 channel heres what I'd do .... Use a runcam or mobius (small HD cam) mounted to a 9 gram servo for just panning, as I only do, and use your rudder channel (since there isn't a rudder on the SkyHunter) to pan around. Simple yet effective as I do with small wings.

@RelaxinFPV8 жыл бұрын
Don't you have any problem of range with 1.2Ghz vidéo and 2.4Ghz RC ?
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
I am using the VAS 1.2/2.4 notch filter on my vTx and have never had any issues. Rock solid. Also a lot of separation between components
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Just as important ... I am not using an over powering vTx. Only an 800mw. Makes a major difference. If using a 1.2w or 1.5w vTx you will get some RF interference.
@RelaxinFPV8 жыл бұрын
ok, i didn't know that a simply notch filter could be used to avoid the problem for RC :)
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's simply amazing for it doesn't allow for that occasional overlapping of frequencies to interfere with one another.
@break3step8077 жыл бұрын
which osd do you use??
@aerofpv21097 жыл бұрын
I have always used the very reliable Cyclops Storm. You get so much tech for the price point. Tho Vector is tops but pricey. Thanks for swinging by mate.
@JakeBullit1238 жыл бұрын
I tried1.2 with x8r and range was dramatically reduced.what is the key?notch filter/specific frequency? also how did you mod TX for 5dbi?
@aerofpv21098 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake .. the X8R has telemetry also being sent back to your tx and can cause slightly more interference than a non-telemetry L9R. The VAS notch filter I use is a 1.2/2.4 filter. As for the 5db tx mod here it is - www.banggood.com/Wholesale-FrSky-2_4G-V8-Series-5dB-Module-Antenna-p-68703.html?rmmds=search I highly recommend.
