This is actually the first time I heard someone mention this show. I have heard of it, but never really see it because I never played any of the Skylanders games. Good to hear that it's okay for a video game cartoon show because those are hard to find. Also to get one thing out of the way the first image and one you used the most seems odd to me. The mouth seems a bit off to the side, but other than that a good review.

I honestly tried it out for kao's voice actor being Richard Horvitz but I stayed for the plot and comedy. I'm glad they actually put effort into this show despite the games not being something i'd play.

I used to love skylanders, until I released Activision was miliking me dry. from what you've said though, this sounds pretty good, might give it a watch sometime.

I love your new icon Sheep. Fay did such a great job on them. And I miss Spyro the Dragon. And its shocking to see this show actually be decent. That being said I don't care for Skylanders, so I won't even be bothered to watch. I didn't even know this cartoon existed, but its not surprisingly that it does. Also great new style for your videos. Idk why but your angry icon just makes me laugh.

I played every Skylanders (up till the trap one he grew out of them around there) with my younger cousin just to hear Chaos and Glumshanks, those two are hilarious.

If you have played the games, you'd know that the level of smart humor and good writing is actually present in the games too, even if they are aimed at kids. I mean, I am close to 40 and still love these games. The characters have so much personality! Honestly I only ever got into the Legends of Spyro games because of Skylanders - I only knew him and Cynder before that from furry art (of which there is a LOT). And yes, the show is pretty great. I have rewatched the first season 3 times already, and I rarely do that with something that is barely a year old. Netflix churns out really good shows nowadays, from Adventures of Puss in Boots to Bojack Horseman.

Wasn't Spyro cocky back in the first game on the PS1? I actually kinda enjoy this Spyro's personality, only because it feels very nostalgic to the first Spyro. Voice acting isn't bad either, very passable.

I thought your exact thoughts!!!!!!! when i tried to get my brother to watch the show, i told him to skip episode one, because it uses disgusting trends like "selfies" and is annoying to watch. but after that, it turns into an episodic adventure! and I think kaos and glumshanks make the show hilarious, an example is when kaos tells glumshanks that he got a tattoo. then kaos shows him a miserable tattoo, obviosly drawn on using a sharpie, glumshanks sarcasticly says "straight out of skylands sir" I laughed for like a full minute after that. I also love how they build up throughout the show, kaos can barely beat spyro at the start, but by the end, he can sucssesfully raid the academy without a plan beside, get it. I love this show probably too much, and it took a lot to even make me consider watching episode 2!

Good review. I have the same opinion as you have. I also dislike the first episode and despise Spyro's persona and there's the ''take a picture'' of his butt. Which was a disrespect for the fans and for me, i found that unnecessary. Aside from that, the animation, the other chars and settings was good. Also Crash finally in a cartoon was just worth it.

one thing i dont like about this show is how little other skylanders get screen time. trigger happy and gill grunt were the 2 other skylanders that came with the original game, and yet they arent part of the main cast? also, from what ive heard, chop chop has yet to even make an appearance in this show. he was one of the coolest characters in the first game! i also cant help but notice that they didnt use the sensei characters as the teachers at the school. (not the former villains, of course) sensei literally means teacher in japanese. why the bloody hell is jet vac a teacher and not someone like kingpin?

I like skylander games, (imaginators was decent, and superchargers had a weak start, otherwise great games) and thought this would be a cash grab and awful show. How this show managed to be amazing surprizes me.

Adam Eason you can't judge it if you never even watch it...xD and skylanders is only a crash grab if you let it be its actually a pretty nice game once you tried it i played all the games it is challenging with a few jokes then and there good battle bosses and even a battle arena to practice your skills you can even race online sooo... also you don't need traps to finished the game you don't really need to get all the skylanders to beat the game and don't need vichles to beat the game(well except for superchargers but you really only need to buy three vichles) yeah sure it would be cool to unlock the stuff but eh....so its only a crash grab if you let it be and you can't hate a show bc you hate Netflix...but eh your opinion .-.

OK, I am a sincere fan of Skylanders, since the beggining, but this series disappointed me, the humor is lame, its problems are a lot, flanderization, character detailment, annoyance, lack of creativity and it will never be close to the videogame! EVER!!! but it's pros.. animation and writing, some jokes and design, still decent, but they wasted lot of potential SCORE 8.0/10 OK very close to meh
