On this episode we're back with Rob and his 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTR! This time he's back with a new round of modifications including a single HKS T51R turbo, nitrous, and drive by wire. Tuned on a Haltech Ecu this Spool imports 2.8L Stroker makes 850AWHP on a mustang dyno. This is hands down TRC's favorite R33 GTR, enjoy some amazing RB sounds!

Sequentials are game changers! Side note: He stated the newer HKS turbos are made by Mitsubishi. That’s surprising, as they have literally given up on every single platform. Every day they axe various part numbers, even for items that have sold well for years and still have a high demand. On the turbo side of things, you used to be able to get a small batch from Mitsu heavy industries, now they require a massive order. They are a massive company though, the auto side is probably a write off at this stage. Sad times.

Mitsubishi makes Trust/Greddy turbos so I don't see how they would also make their #1 competition's turbo also? From what I understand HKS are Garrett-based turbochargers, but not sure which company actually makes them -- if it's HKS, Garrett (Allied Signal), or some other company.

Many cars come with HKS turbos stock including Garret turbo. My Vectra VXR has a TD04 Garret Twin Scroll Turbo from factory and it was supplied by Mitsubishi

Fun fact for you, the original Godzilla is actually the R32. Named Godzilla because it was beating every race it was in. Then the R33 came out, R34 made it in Fast n Furious. Not anymore. They've already fucked up our entire market to the point where a shitbox NA MX-5 goes for nearly 15K. I just bought a Mazdaspeed 6 for half that.
