I was getting ready for a once in a lifetime trip to New Zealand. And a friend of mine told me: 'I know this is going to sound crazy, but just watch out for the mountain coaster -- make sure you use the brakes. They don't dumb down the rides in NZ.' 4 months later, I'm approaching that left at 3:42 as fast as gravity and 250lbs will allow, and suddenly Pete's words flash into my brain. I brake late, but just manage to avoid sending me and my 5yo son off the track. Thanks PETE!

Fast forward five years, and my BIL says he's going to NZ and do I have any recommendations. I say 'this is going to sound weird, but be sure to use the brakes if you do the mountain coaster.' I see him a few months later and ask him how the coaster went. 'We let the kids drive their own sleds. Johnny flew off the track at the first big turn and rolled halfway down the mountain.' lol!

One of the very few videos with a music soundtrack that doesn't suck miserably. You did it right by leaving the ambient, local sound in the background (noise of the luge, wind, voices) but this lowkey but energetic music adds to the experience.

we went to Auckland last year, and it was super fun! I raider this whole luge as a 10 year old my self with no one. And trust me it’s hard to drive. You have to keep the steering wheel pulled and if you ket go you stop. And the steering wheel is like super hard to pull.

But the luge is in Rotorua also they aren’t that hard to steer and when yk how to turn corners quickly without slowing down you get mad speed. My uncle is quite heavy and when he went down, he was going that fast there were sparks coming off the cart 😂
