He seems so real and I understand he comes from a close knit family. He obviously misses them and its true like he says he is getting old for the part. Good Luck in the future Liam. He definately was the best billy elliot from what I see.

Kind of sad. Sometimes growing up can suck. I saw him in the play years ago, he was awesome. Just saw the play again in Seattle, with the Broadway production. Billy was played by Giuseppe Bausilio, and I tell you what, this kid can dance as well. Wow....

I saw Trent Kowalik as Billy and I was blown away by his performance. The last second of the angry scene before intermission was... I am telling you. It was mind blowing. Never had that feeling before or after.

I think he rejoined the show a few years later in the part of grown up Billy and danced the ballet duet with him near the end of the show

Actually, he only returned to the show one time when they filmed it live and made a DVD out of it. He played his older self in the ballet duet.

I was in show business for 35 years and got applause at recitals, but I can't imagine what it must be like for an ordinary kid to get a standing ovation at 12. By ordinary, I mean kids who weren't raised in the business or even around the business from earliest childhood.

When he was home on a break from the camp where they were training the Billy's, he mentioned some girl, and his mother asked "Is she fit?" "She's got the most incredible feet," he answered. His mother and father just looked at each other and his dad said, "It must be a ballet thing."

Yes, Liam played Billy for the press reviews. He did not play him on opening night.
