I am a socialist so naturally I really dislike the Tories but even I feel bad for Theresa May. After all, despite the fact that she was ahead of Michael Hesletine in the leadership election in 1990, Margaret Thatcher was still ultimately pressured to resign because a large majority of her colleagues felt that she couldn't beat him in a straight fight (which I always found baffling, but that was the decision they made). Given the can of worms about the "do what we say, not what we do," attitude with which Johnson's government runs, and the negative national response (even in Tory backing publications), it's surely only a matter of time before he's forced out
