Sinn Fein's Mary Lou McDonald and Michelle O'Neill have welcomed the DUP's commitment to return to Stormont.
Ms O'Neill who will become Northern Ireland's first nationalist First Minister told the media at Stormont that power-sharing "is the only show in town".

This all sounds very good in theory so let's see how it works out in practice. There is obviously a push towards getting Stormont back up and running and this is much better than not having it, so there will be a degree of goodwill between the different parties. So if compromise is the order of the day then maybe they can overcome their differences and actually get things moving in Northern Ireland.

As someone who has Ulster Protestant ancestry , i would fully support a “ united Ireland” if the 9 Counties of Ulster were given a degree of autonomy within one island of Éire . I can clearly see that the Protestant worries regarding Catholic domination has past and that the changing Demographics means the Protestant dominance has now past and we must try to make the best of the road ahead of us all.

The Irish republic flag has included the orange stripe for a reason, the exact same size as the green portion and the white portion. There would be no discrimination in a united Ireland. We want nothing more to just be at peace, pull down the barriers up north and accept everyone as an equal member of a united Ireland. There is no need for an autonomous region. The Good Friday Agreement really means something. The fighting has stopped, the arms are laid down and the path for peace has been going for 25 years. I pray for us to reunite with our brothers and sisters in my lifetime
