I'm afraid Gina is incorrect, we leave after 2 years from today, regardless of whether we have a deal or not. If Parliament and the EU states don't endorse whatever deal might be agreed, then we will still leave, but effectively with no deal.

Gina Miller needs to understand a simple principle in democracy. A majority of the British people voted to leave the EU. We do not need to haggle about money with the EU if we don't want to; we can just walk away. We do not need to pay any more money to the EU for EU civil servants pensions if we don't want to. We do not need to pay money for EU infrastructure projects we had previously committed to put money into if we don't want to. There is no process that HAS to be followed, except those internal to the UK, and I accept Miller's legal case was won on this basis, if we don't want to. That's the whole pint of being a sovereign nation.

Miller is wrong about talking to other countries. What she means but doesn't want to say is that we can't SIGN any deals until we are officially out of the EU but there is no hindrance to talking. I'd be amazed if there aren't already lots of behind-the-scenes discussions going on, seeing as how many countries have already stated their enthusiasm to do deals with us. In fact, not just amazed but disappointed. And as for saying "we are all Leavers" - what a hypocrite!

Why does Gina Miller think a vote between no deal and a bad deal is not a meaningful vote? The referendum result was for leaving the EU and parliament voted overwhelmingly to trigger A50 after rigourous debate. No deal after two years doesn't mean no deal forever. It could just mean the UK falls to WTO tariffs while a round 2 of deal talks begin. The court case that Miller herself bought ruled that parliament needed to vote on triggering A50 because once triggered it is likely to be legally unstoppable. I don't think she can justify why she thinks a vote to accept the deal or leave on WTO tarrifs is not a meaningful vote.
