From my understanding gen z is fixated on individuality and having autonomy. I think this is why in recent years we’ve seen trends on ppl not wanting to be people pleasers and entering their “villain era.” Previously the word brat refers to someone who is “spoilt” but that word has been transformed into an empowering term as being someone who puts themselves first even if they are seen as “brat”- eg. she is carefree, she will party, she’ll be messy, she puts herself first etc even if she’s disliked- but that’s what makes her endearing. that’s relatable to gen z and young girls especially who feel like they have no control over their future. They want to have freedom to have abortions, freedom to choose their identity l, freedom to be idealistic without responsibility etc etc Society is becoming so selfish lol
