That doctor should research on the toxic chemicals in solar panels including cadmium telluride, copper indium selenide, cadmium gallium (di)selenide, copper indium gallium (di)selenide, hexafluoroethane, lead and polyvinyl fluoride. There are concerns about the highly toxic chemicals and those that handle the panels, plus if panels are cracked what can end up in people's rainwater. Australia needs 60 million panels to replace *todays* grid, let alone how much electrification will push up the amount needed and these toxic panels will be the asbestos of the future when this toxic garbage ends up in people, landfill and drinking water.

We have 1/3 of the worlds uranium, enough for 10-20,000 years or more, reactors use very little and the fuel can be recycled up to 95%. Fuel for reactors is a very energy dense and a cheap part of running a reactor and the waste is not an issue either, it is probably more of an asset than a concern and we already have a new waste facility that has had no waste in it to date. The worst thing for Australia about nuclear reactors is probably the embarrassingly poor standard of education & number of corrupt politicians we have on the subject for a western nation. Nuclear engineering has been proven over many years, is clean and the safest form of energy production to date with least deaths and many exagerated examples of failures. Politics, protests and bureaucracy are 3 of the greater expenses associated with nuclear projects, not always the engineering, but delays can get expensive with huge loans, interest rates and insurance costs blowing budgets out ridiculously for no good reason. We float on gas and give most of it away while paying the highest prices for it globally. We have enough good clean, cheap coal to keep powering us for 1200 years and it has worked okay for a long time now

Just google map satellite mode Port Augusta Playford power station site and have a look how shallow the gulf is at that point. The is nothing like a hot water cooling water that with destroying your steam turbine vacuum. Last yrs hot summer had eroupean nuclear plants shutting down from their lakes and rivers where too hot to cool their nuclear plants. Half the French fleet of reactors were offline for maintenance and cracked cooling pipes. That's one reason why Germany had to temporarily reopen their coal mines because French didn't have excess power to sell.
