I retired from LAFD when the writing was on the wall. Fire Chief Crowley was an inspector, never had front line command fire fighting or EMS experience. Purely DEI hire. LAFD started "Eliminating" the old guard personnel, replacing them with unqualified DEI hires from throughout the country. She set aside over $600k for recruitment efforts. The ineptitude is mind boggling. This is a travesty of the highest proportions.

What water could they use? They would simply be in the way of firefighters. Speaking of politics now because while these fires may very well naturally occur, California policy of not clearing brush under power lines, diverting water to the ocean instead of filling reservoirs, defunding the fire department, DEI emphasis, all played a role.
