I seriously keep thinking about it too. Maybe becoming a Vampire Lord, a vampire of pure blood, isn't a quick process. Maybe you had to recover from some kind of overflow of magic power or something like that. So Harkon simply left you in a safe room while your transformation was in progress then he took you to the cathedral. I don't know, it's just a theory.

Such_Bs To be fair, the Dragonborn has a more valid claim to the throne than anyone else. ... Sorry. Did you think I meant the throne of Skyrim? No no no. I mean the IMPERIAL throne. By all rights, as Ysmir, it should be the player’s right to claim the empire founded by your predecessor, Tiber Septim. I suppose becoming High King/Queen of Skyrim would be a decent start, but it genuinely is your divine right to rule over Tamriel.

That Dremora one is actually amazing! I absolutely love tiny details like that. However, I know that there tend to be two Dremora spawned up there. I've never really stealthed up there to see what they're up to, I'm wondering if it's an animation that plays for idle Dremora anyway, thus any summoned Dremora not in combat may do it due to the scripting of Dremora's at the shrine in general?

Here's my theory on the hanging skeleton in the Forgotten Vale. I think it was some kind of adventurer, likely a Nord, who found his way into the Vale but ended up getting chased by Falmer. The nameless adventurer found themself at a dead end on the top of the cliff, with Falmer quickly closing in behind him. Knowing what would happen to his body if the Falmer killed him, he decides to kill himself by tying a noose and hanging himself halfway down the cliff, as if he just jumped off the Falmer would still be able to reach his body. I say he's a Nord because they're big on honoring the dead, and I doubt he'd want his corpse desecrated by the Falmer. It also wouldn't be too farfetched to assume he had rope, as the Vale is entirely surrounded by mountains and I'm sure he didn't go the same route the Dragonborn did.

The Ideal Masters aren't 'cunning' or clever, but actually really stupid. The necromancers who work with them are basically business partners, or rather more like suppliers. Well, the dumbest thing to do to a business partner (or supplier), assuming they aren't cheating on you, is to kill them off. It's just straightforward commerce. Think about it - they get necromantic power in Tamriel, while the Masters get a steady influx of souls. What's more, as they get more necromantic power, they'll likely send even more souls the Masters' way. What's even more, keeping them alive boosts the 'networking' ability of the Masters, thereby enabling them to recruit even more necromancers/suppliers to send souls their way. And this applies even if there's no scarcity of eager new necromancers for them to partner with - they'll still benefit more from constantly growing their network rather than simply replenishing it i.e. making up for those they've killed off. Yet those devious beings who've had literally ages to think about their strategy seem singularly incapable of figuring out that when trading, it's better to work with, not against, your partners.

My problem with the Soul Cairn is just how much of a pain it is to navigate and find specific points without using an out of game map. I do like the rewards you get from going there, but the place itself is just annoying. Also, I hold a personal grudge against it because a game breaking bug involving it is what killed my most recent playthrough of Skyrim, and there was nothing that could be done to fix it, (on PS4, so no console commands to work around the fact that Bethesda gave up on fixing known game breaking bugs in their games)......

Maybe the final one was before the Falmer became the Falmer if that makes sense as I assume that fungus they were forced to eat didn’t take effect right away. Or perhaps it was a Dwemer or Snow Elf that was pushed off by the to-be Falmer as a warning to others.

I have a theory about the wo/man who was hung on the side of a cliff : The three skeletons were probably adventurers who knew each other , however when they were going to somewhere , they ran into Falmers , two of them ran together and were killed by some Falmer , the Third adventurer ( the one who is hanging on the cliff ) ran in a different direction amidst the chaos , and so they ran to the cliff , not knowing where they would end up , when the Falmer finished off the Third Adventurer's friends , they moved onto s/he but the s/he knew their terrible fate , and so s/he used the piece of rope s/he had and made a noose on which to hang themselves on. Most likely , s/he heard the Falmer and wanted a clean death , so they took their own life. But that's just my theory.
@seaborgium919
@seaborgium919 6 жыл бұрын
You really ought to just use the singular 'they' instead of the "s/he" nonsense... (And you did use it before in your theory. "... so they ran to the cliff, not knowing where they would end up" Not talking about the falmer or the two adventurers there...) I like your theory, though. Besides the logic of the rope would probably snap with their weight... but then also the body would have fallen in decomposition...
@Talanic
@Talanic 6 жыл бұрын
I would guess that the unfortunate hanged skeleton was originally captured by the Falmer, realized the fate that was in store and committed suicide. Afterwards, well, there was just a body swinging in the breeze off the cliff. The Falmer are blind - they had no idea that it was there.

For me, even though I've played the main game and DLC multiple times already, I keep the game entertaining by making it stupidly difficult or adding fun little challenges. One playthrough I did required me to never hit an enemy. I had to rely on companions at the beginning, and eventually began relying on using rage spells to turn enemies against one another, or in dwemer ruins, summoned some kind of helper. It's fun doing stuff like that, for me at least

Galimeer5 Not necessarily...if you were to point out the location "this is where they hanged him/they were hanged", past tense "he/they were hanged" or future, like sentencing "to be hanged by the neck until dead", then, yeah... BUT, since he was using it in present tense of the corpse as an object, which is currently there in-game for any present to see, "hanging there" is perfectly fine (as the corpse IS, well, HANGING there)...in fact "hanged there" is slightly grammatically awkward in this context, TBH~ (another example of present tense is if an execution were happening presently, as in "They are hanging him/them now", or as an adverb "I'm hanging it up"...just using these as examples can be used for people as well as objects. Both terms are valid, depending on context/circumstances, is all I'm saying)

For the last situation in the Forgotten Vale, I would guess that it was a Falmer sacrifice. I don’t know enough about them to assume what the purpose of the sacrifice was, but given the items present, that would make the most sense to me. They’re adept with magic, posses relative intelligence, and probably follow a primitive pantheon, so a sacrifice doesn’t seem too unlikely.

Fun Fact that others probably know but still worth sharing in my opinion: You can save Margret (the woman that gets murdered) by killing the Forsworn before he even gets to touch her. This won't break the game as she has dialogue if she isn't killed. She does thank you if you save her and will give you the necklace that was supposed to be a gift to her sister. And you don't need to find her diary in the "Forsworn Conspiracy" mission, you can just interrogate her and tell you she's an Imperial spy like we all know!

Under a rock, mostly. I mean, why would I bother looking up these kinds of things, when I can play the game and stumble upon them myself? It's only *because* it's been so long that I'm interested in these videos. I can put on one of Nate's lists, boot up Skyrim, and see what "secrets" were added to the Special Edition so aren't in the original release.

Hey Nate, I noticed something stand out in this video that I wanted to say I caught on to as both a viewer and a creator. In most of your videos you talk things through pretty quickly, which I tend to approve of since it gets the information out to the viewer without wasting time, and is something that I value a lot in my KZbin intake content. I usually don't click on videos that, for example, are a top ten list that's half an hour long. As a viewer I don't want to waste a half hour of my day getting a list of ten things. I could watch a let's play episode from someone else and probably have time to put on a song or two afterward, and that all leads to a far more entertaining half hour spent otherwise. Your videos are quick and to the point and I like sharing them with other people. And before I get into this next part I should clarify that what I'm about to say is absolutely NOT critical feedback, but I know it's going to look that way at first. Bear with me, I'm not a writer by trade. In this video however you talked things out much slower and went through a lot of details that a year ago I would have thought was unnecessary and drawn out just to make the video longer. However eight minutes in to the video I realized that everything you had to say was not only on point with what you were saying, but there was a lot of information that needed to sink in and be processed without pausing or rewatching parts of the video. All this information needed the viewer to not miss anything you were saying so it was important to have a slower feeling video instead of the quick concise content that I've come to know you for. It also fit the tone of the video, which helped me realize it even more. Things you did this time that I would normally dislike a list video for were what made your video better in this case, which I can guarantee hasn't ever applied to any of the other time wasters I mentioned before. I like the faster videos because it's a quick information snack that I can get in between other stuff I'm doing. I like this slower video because there was a lot of information to process in order to fully understand the point of each... point you were making. You're doing something very right here, so I wanted to say you're doing a good job with your video production output. For what it's worth, I'm super proud of you for what you've got going for you. Hitting that razor's edge between speed and sufficient information is extremely difficult. Kudos, sir~

My oppinion on the "hanged man" is that it wasn't some organised 'group hanging' of someone. Instead, while the battle where all the other falmer died raged on, one falmer was up on those rocks with his bow and arrows, shooting them at the enemies below. After he saw the battle going so badly for his kin, he decided it's better to control his own death, than to wait there at his enemies' mercy, risking being captured and/or tortured becuase he's one of the few survivors of the battle. So, naturally, he left all his personal tokens up there with his weapon, and hung himself intentionally.

One thing I found particularly shudder inducing is that if you make your way to the shrine of Boeithia and... well, the first time I made this odd approach, I started picking off people from a distance. I tried to kill everyone there. And I mostly did. Except the two locked in battle with one another. When I came off the high perch I had been sniping from-they kept fighting one another. I looted everything around, they kept fighting. I fired arrows into each of them from right outside their make shift arena. Still they fought. I went into the arena and I was able to collect the seemingly hundreds of arrows I had sent in there both from afar and up close. I would strike at them from melee distance and... nothing. It may have been that I broke the area, but as I could not interact with them and they never went hostile on me, I walked away imagining that those two were for ever more locked in ceaseless battle. Neither to be vanquished nor victorious, for all time.
