Continue down the stream, where the water falls through the cliffs. Go down that and you will fall through a cave entrance. You'll land in a deep pool of water which you can swim out of to get to dry land. Bring lots of torches because it's super dark down there, that's where you can find some. The eeriest thing about them is that they make no sound even in their death throes.

I was doing the College of Winterhold questline, trying to get the Staff when I spot it. I tried casting an illusion spell (for that character it was an illusion mage) but that didn't work. I tried leveling up my archery from the one dude in Riverwood. When that failed I literally just dropped the character. Recently I was doing the thieves guild questline and I came across two of them. Thankfully Karlilah and Brynjolf are stronger than the wood elf.

Destruction magic is always universal, I mean look at Tolfdir, he's a Master Alteration Mage, but he know how to cast incinerate and flame cloak as some of his go to spells in combat alongside his flesh-spell protection.

In a quest, you can pick up in Darklight Tower an imperial mage named Illia confirms that hagravens are made from people and that her mother is looking for a blood sacrifice to become one... I recommend doing the quest, you gain her as a fallower and she is a powerful one in that matter

The feral falmers being vampires is stated by Knight-Paladin Gelebor after you tell him his brother was a vampire. He basic say he is relieved that the fallen aren't beyond redemption since the ones who attacked them were also corrupted by vampirism. It's strange that you said the hagraven had some sort of deal with the forsworn as if they were feral monsters with no contact with humans. They are just uglier witches with more powers. The ones that live in forsworn camps are themselves forsworns and have some sort of priestly/shamanic role in their society. If you ever want to talk more about witches turning into hagravens visit the Darklight Tower at the south-east courner of the map. Once you enter Illia will ask your help preventing her mother from turning into a monster.

The keepers are explained by the vamp Lady , she says that they channelled the barrier the was kept in with, and that they were under the command of the undead Dragon guarding her. Their only purpose was to keep the barrier up.

Becoming a Hagraven is implied a lot in the base game of Skyrim as well. Any quest location that involves encountering a Hagraven, but that has not been activated yet, will place a Hag witch in their place(s). These enemies can be killed without affecting how the quest is supposed to be played out, and will either be replaced by Hagravens when necessary or have Hagravens suddenly appearing beside them in the location to fight alongside them. For example, the Glenmoril witches for Kodlak's quest are only hags until that quest is active. Similarly, there is a hag in the cabin that will later house your Hagraven wife-to-be. Hags seem to respect and work alongside Hagravens no matter what, you can hear Hagravens speak in quests (albeit much less intelligently), and I think I remember a quest where a witch wanted to escape becoming a Hagraven (or maybe it was being in a coven that seeks to become Hagravens)? Memory's a little fuzzy there. Also, the letter Agnis has for her third sister sounds very much like encouraging her to join them because she wants the three of them to become (ascend to?) Hagravens, but maybe not.

I have the theory that haghravens can take a human form where they pretend to be witches, that they are the raven equivalent of werewolves and werebears. They don't look more like ravens because they need to keep enough human attributes to cast spells. It would be interesting if the next game allowed the player to turn into one.

Seekers remind me of AD&D Mind Flayers a little. Which made me wish Bethesda would introduce Githyanki and/or Githzerai in the game...

Something to note on Hagraven's, there's a quest in Darklight Tower to gain a follower after it, but during the quest Illia, a witch/mage notes that her Mother wanted her to bring an innocent person into the tower to kill in order to perform some sort of ritual in order to in her own words "...Turn into one of those things!" Implying the ritual would turn her into a Hagraven (which are scattered throughout the tower) she also says her mother had been corrupted by the Hagravens implying they can in fact communicate without trying to kill you. Personally i like my theory that Hagravens are sort of a vip group for witches, and only select few witches are chosen to become a Hagraven. But i guess we'll never know.

I believe the origin of Seekers was known even before ESO. It should be noted that the Daedric Princes don't typically create Daedra; most Daedra merely tend to serve princes who best align with their interests and ideals.

Gargoyles really got me by surprise. My sister's boyfriend got her Skyrim for the Switch, and it has all the DLC already incorporated. I've been playing mostly vanilla Skyrim for a time now, so imagine my surprise when I'm following Barbas through the mountains and we stumble across two angry gargoyles waiting for us in the fog. I, an adult mind you, actually cried out in surprise!

I always figured the Seekers were people who had fallen for the trap of Apocrypha and become obsessed with the knowledge it held, never leaving and just reading more and more until the realm warped their appearance over hundreds or thousands of years.

The Seekers look somewhat like illithids from D&D, only difference is illithids have legs and hate magic and prefer to use something called phsyonics which isn’t magic at all. Oh, and they are anything but human and come from space.

The Seekers look and behave so much like the Ascended Sleepers from Morrowind just with more details and less robe, I can't help but think there's a link between the two.

I always assumed the Seekers were just people who wandered into Apocrypha and became obsessed with learning everything they could with the vast knowledge stored in the realm, and after years of being within Hermaeus Mora's realm, the forbidden knowledge converting them into the monsters we face.

Thank you for always posting, Nate. I just recently ended my relationship with my boyfriend and Skyrim is the only game we didn't play together. He taught me how to really love Fallout so it's tender for me right now. I've got a gun I renamed after him and there are so many things in Sanctuary we built together. Skyrim is my precious home, even as a high elf. 😉

You haven't done anything on followers or books in Skyrim. An avenue that you could look into. Eg Immoral Blood book.

Allot of the lore is directly from books and you should probably do a followers search on his page.

I believe Apocrypha would make you go insane, all that knowledge forced into you brain at a constant while in that world. Remember, in order to reach the realm, you need to read a "Black Book", and it's told ingame that people who read them may go insane. Not the dragonborn though. As we've seen things normal people shouldn't.

I wish there was a sanity meter... It could be very interesting to have the character slowly lose his/her mind, and go out of the player's control unless you do something to "heal" sanity.

Hagravens undergo a sacrificial ritual to become hagravens. Although it is most likely to Nocturnal because she as affiliations with birds like ravens and crows

connection goes to hircine actually because the 3 witches were hircine followers also the 3 were glenmoril witches, which is heavily associated with lycanthropy in the elder scrolls thanks to kodlaks questline to go kill glenmoril hagravens

I forgot the name of the quest in ESO, but there's one where you have to find a guy and break him of his enthrallment. There were several people in the building who wanted nothing more than to be left alone to read their books and would agro if you disturbed them. This is also evidence that Hermaeus Mora enthralls people with knowledge

That first frost troll on the way to meet the graybeards... I had figured a way around him by climbing over the cliff to the left after he jumps down... I then sprint to the castle as fast as I can while consuming stamina potions, all the while hearing troll noises following me... eventually they dim down to a faint whisper, and then they are gone....I know I am finally safe and head inside to meet these graybeards... totally worth it considering their leader is a badass dragon that guides you like Mr Miagi... I do however return to that snowy cliff once I have realized my strength and power as the Dragonborn... he doesn’t stand a chance... the look in his fiery eyes tells me he remembered me as the one that got away... he should have finished it when he had a chance... I set his head on fire from my left hand, I can smell his filthy burning fur from afar but hold off on retching so I can stab his heart with my small but deadly razor... I don’t even need a third strike, he’s falling before I remove my dagger from his chest... I soak in the moment by tea bagging my enemy, then carrying his lifeless form and throwing him off the cliff, watching him hit almost everything on the way down... I will never be that vulnerable again, I promise myself as I wipe my blade... I hop back on shadowmere and begin the journey back to whiterun... night is falling but I feel confident nothing can challenge me and win....I lean back and watch the beautiful night sky as my horse leads us back to Whiterun....
