Saadia was the one who was actually lying. If you hand her over to the Redguards, and if you walk around outside for a decent amount of time rather than fast traveling everywhere. Within a weeks time, a small group of Thalmor soldiers will ambush you and attack you. In their note, they say that you have severely impeded on their power. And they have been tasked to eliminate you before you cause more damage. This always happens after I have handed Saadia over to the Redguards. She was the Thalmor spy, not the Redguards. No Thalmor attack you if you kill the Redguards.
@theTRUEkage5 жыл бұрын
Additionally, if you kill Saadia after she has been paralyzed by the Redguard, he will get upset and ask why you would kill her after they had finally captured her. If he was going to kill her later, why would he tell you off so harshly? Don't be tricked by a pretty face, indeed!

My theory for Alduin at Helgen is this. When the ancient tongues created the dragonbreak to trap Alduin, it had to have a beginning and end. Being the god of time, Akatosh picked that end point very precisely, fate and all that you know. Alduin is unaware of this, from his perspective he was fighting the nords one minute in ancient times, the next hes on the throat of the world and skyrim is different. Helgen simply happened to be the nearest town for Alduin to resume his rampage, but Akatosh lined it up so that in his blind rage he would inadvertently rescue the one destined to defeat him

I really like this idea. Not just because its creative but it also fits super well within skyrim's lore and its representation of how the Divines interact with the world at times

Saadia was lying. Why on earth would you run from Hammerfel, a nation that is at war with the Thalmor, to a nation that is essentially controlled by the Thalmor. Also, considering the zeal of Thalmor Justiciar in skyrim, it is unlikely for the Thalmor to hire mercenaries to kill someone, especially someone important. Not to mention the mercenaries they supposedly hired were redguards who weren't even trusted to enter whiterun. Even if the Thalmor did this, they would be clever enough to hire some Nords.(considering I have been attacked by steel plated thugs in whiterun multiple times, yet the guards keep letting them at me)

Personally, I think Alduin attacking Helgen was for a much more mundane reason. If you remember, Alduin was not actually banished, merely pushed forward in time, and the time where he was pushed just so happened to be 4E 201. Being understandably angry, he attacks the nearest town to him, which just so happens to be Helgen. So, Alduin being pushed forward in time, to him attacking Helgen, that was only 5 minutes ago by his perspective.

Yup. Pretty much. This is further backed by the fact that Alduin doesn't attack another village. He has too much pride in being the First Born, the Strongest and a ruler. There's also the consideration of not just that he was launched through time, but HOW he was. They'd just hit him with Dragonrend. Remember how old Paarthy described it? It makes dragons, fearless, immortal beings they glide through the air and rule the land from the skies, feel great fear and mortality. They then come crashing down. The dragons can't even comprehend the meaning behind such foul words to use the shout, or even repeat them. This love of flying is further pushed with Durnheviir giving his everything to the Dragonborn just to be able to fly for brief moments. So for Alduin to be hit with that, and already in a rampage, as he started to fight more feral, yeah, he just emerged and attacked the first thing he saw. End of story. I never even considered that a mystery.

Taneth would never be angry that someone spoke out against the thalmor, as literally everyone in the city speaks out against them. also the thalmor wouldn't hire that sort of thing out, they'd just take care of it themselves. why trust some mercs to do it, when their agents are in the area anyway.

Maybe it wasn't an answer by Akatosh, but his disgruntled son deciding to give the old man one more "fuck you" by killing one of his followers. Akatosh IS the god of time; he may have manipulated things so that the Dragonborn would be there to set them on the quest of killing Alduin, or put Lokir there to break the Dragonborn out by inadvertently summoning Alduin.

So yeah, it's all just pure coincidence. It's also good to point out the Helgen attack was literally the very first Dragon attack reported in Skyrim, and right after you report it only then do more dragons begin to attack, signaling Alduin's reconstruction of his former troops.

Alduin was at Helgen to allow Ulfric to escape because more deaths in the civil war means more souls of the dead to gain power from. What's even more interesting about Lokir praying to the divine in the beginning cinematic? He also includes Shor, which is not apart of the 9 or 8 divines, but the Nord variant of Lorkan. I always found that odd since no other character specifically list Shor when mentioning the divine pantheon in TES.
@DerHortator6 жыл бұрын
The reason why Shor isn't in his mead hall is actually because he is kinda dead. Parts of his Soul survived, which is why there are Shezzarines, but Shor/Lorkhan got his heart ripped out and thrown into Red Mountain, where it was destroyed by the Nerevarine. There is actually a book titled "The Lunar Lorkhan", which claims that the two moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda, are basically his corpse.

The Hero of Daggerfall was born 3E375, the Eternal Champion (Arena's Protagonist) was born 3E370 and lived at least until 3E399 when he defeated Jagar Tharn. So the Hero of Daggerfall cannot be an incarnation of the Eternal Champion. That is not possible, simple as that. The Champion of Cyrodiil can't be the reincarnation of the Nerevarine either, because Oblivion takes place 3E433, which is 6 years after Morrowind. And since our protagonist in Oblivion isn't a 6 year old, but a grown up man or woman, he cannot be the incarnation of the Nerevarine. It is, again, not possible.

My theory about Helgan is that Alduin sensed that the dragonborn was present and he was about to be executed. I believe that in Alduins quest to rule over Skyrim he wanted a challenge and saved the dragonborn from execution. When he lands on the guard tower he looks right at you. Don’t you think if he wanted to kill you he would’ve shouted at you? When you go and watch him resurrect a dragon he didn’t kill you. @roanc37096 жыл бұрын
My personal theory is that Alduin attacked Helgen to save you, because he was so cocky and overconfident he was sure that he would win your battle and wanted that glory. Letting you die at the hand of an executioner wouldn't make for a great tale after all. But eventually his hubris is his downfall. I like this theory because it shows Alduin as the overconfident character he is, being so sure his plan would succeed he is ultimately his own downfall, not only saving the life of the person who would eventually defeat him, but in fact setting into motion the chain of events that would result in his defeat.

I think Akatosh wanted Alduin to ‘save’ the Dragonborn for a more interesting battle. It would be more dramatic if the Dragonborn and the world eater battled it out in Sovngarde rather than the Dragonborn dying in an execution for illegally crossing the border.
@samsonguy10k6 жыл бұрын
+Kristin Stobaugh Exactly. To all things there should be some rules, and Alduin is more just a demigod than a full one. If he were to just destroy the Dragonborn at Helgen, it would take away the fun of all the high Daedra and the gods. If anything it becomes more a test to see if the Dragonborn is worth fighting, as Alduin doesn't ever directly attack them, but all those around them, but still presents such chaos and destruction that anyone less than a hero would have perished. Many did perish, and I think I remember Tulius stating he got out by the skin of his teeth. What's great is this doesn't even discount the theory about the Dragonborn being Shor. Shor would have had his own rules as well. Having the powers of a Dragonborn, but no memories of before while he held a mortal form. Kinda like a wizard sent from the West to aid Middle Earth in its time of need. Able to use only enough power to aid, but never to use it to match the greater evil. Although in Skyrim's case, the plan was to grow in power in order to match the greater evil.

7:40 the soul is the self. the dragonborn isn't a mortal with the soul of a dragon, he/she's a dragon in the body of a mortal. how can a dragon/ piece of akatosh be also another god separate from akatosh at the same time?
@kirasnotfunny70994 жыл бұрын
a mortal with the soul of a dragon is the exact same as a dragon in the body of a mortal as they are both still mortal bodies with dragon souls

Talos was dragonborn as well. He was also an avatar of Shor. This proves that you can be both.
@bombingbarrett48134 жыл бұрын
Being dragonborn doesn't mean you're part of akatosh's oversoul , being a dragonborn is a blessing bestowed by akatosh, that's all.

@@bagelboi4321 TALOS was a shezzarine ( since he had the soul of ysmir wulfharth, zurin arctus and hjalti early beard / tiber septim.) But hjalti or tiber was just a normal person who conversed with the soul of ysmir (iirc), and ysmir was a cloud or something that gave tiber the power of the voice (and possibly dragonborn powers???? Maybe). That's why he was called talos stormcrown in his nordic name. Zurin arctus on the other hand was a shezzarine. So when their souls combined or some shit like that talos became a shezzarine dragonborn.

I believe that the reason Alduin attacked Helgen is to stop Ulfrick from being executed and prolonging the civil war and therefore gaining more souls from the fallen stormcloak and Imperial troops

While Alduin and Akatosh are separate beings, according to lore, it's a popular belief that Alduin and Akatosh are the same.
@HeavenlyHavoc6 жыл бұрын
Yup. Auriel is the beginning of time, Akatosh is the God of time, and Alduin is the end of time.

Red Judas also i believe that theres dialogue from M'iak the liar that backs up that theory.

Auri-el, Akatosh and Alduin are all shards of the same time dragon. Alduin is actually older than Akatosh. Akatosh became the god of time via Dragon Break

if you have played Oblivion, then you can see at the end of the main questline that Akatosh appears in a form of a golden dragon to take down Mehrunes Dagon and to save humanity. Also Alduin refers to himself as "firstborn of Akatosh". Now so, Akatosh and Alduin can't be the same.

Alduin appeared in Helgen because he had just left the "time skip", battling Paarthunax and attacking the first human city he sees

Online it said that Shor's image would blind your (the Dragonborn's) eyes.

The shor theory is additionally supported by the fact that tsun will tell you that he hopes to see you on sovngarge when you die, even if the player is not a nord

lol I love these random videos on Skyrim. I just got recommended one of Camelwork's and clicked your "5 Crazy things about Skyrim" next...and man, do I like your narration/voice better! xD I've watched so many videos. Or for the Dragon Priest masks they would convene and elect a Dragon Priest lord or w/e? Since you need a separate wooden mask to get to the alternate plane where Konahrik's mask was wouldn't that mean there was another priest of sorts who would lead them to the plane?
