I got the farmer one recently and the coolest thing happened. I followed him to see if it would happen like it said in your video, but the giant was on the other side of the camp at the time so it didnt detect him. He left the cow there then walked off, alive and well. Naturally, I was dying to see where he went next. He kept saying "I'm going to the inn" and we were going vaguely in the direction of Rorikstead so I thought that was where we were going. Imagine my surprise when he stopped dead in his tracks just off the road farther down and stayed there indefinitely. Upon opening the local map, instead of "Skyrim" the location was labeled "Barleydark Farm", despite there being nothing but an open field. My guess is that this farm was content that was cut from the final game, and the farmer was originally supposed to hail from there, and was returning home, but while Bethesda cut out the location, they forgot to change the farmer's AI.

Saw the farmer and painted cow while playing today right near Bleakwind Basin. Of course, I had already killed the giants there. I followed the farmer though, and when he got to the encampment he was immediately attacked by a sabercat. Could just be a coincidence, or maybe the game just really, really wants farmer dead.

I have two rare encounters before I saw this video. What a coincidence. Not sure if it's already mentioned but this encounter was new to me. First was a dead female Breton with 2 bandits standing on it. There was a note written by the Breton that she wanted her necklace back knowing it could lead her to death. Second was a Scavenger looting on both dead Stormcloaks and Imperials Soldier. I think this one was already mentioned by EpicNate.

@@MsFuzzipoo on my recent light armor nord build at level 14 i saw them and kited them around as they hit me for alot of damage, summoned an atronarch, then, i shit you not, a friggin dragon eats them all when i lead them into the open. They actually put up a good fight though, and it was basically some free dragonbone and a soul at that point, all for the low price of spending 7 minutes spamming forward heavies and shouting wuld to get to riften to sell them. Then walking round to the shakedown entrance cos the guards there are fuckbois.

@@MsFuzzipoo yeah, i've recently started a heavy armor imperial who uses a sword and shield. Noticed a hige difference even in unupgraded iron vs my upgraded light armor on my nord. Even the restless drauger in the room with the chest (bleak falls barrow) never forced me to heal. Since armor rating upgrades are percentage based, and heavy armor has higher defence than light at equal skill levels, it is actually much more viable to take hits early on with just iron. Almost 80p hours of play time and i have only just started a heavy character. I even killed the snowy sabre cat on the 7000 steps while tanking more damage at a lower level. Dragons still hit very hard when you have standard iron though and the sudden increase in power from standard dragons to blood dragons is definately tough to counter.

Nate for the 10 small tiny details you may have miss, you could put that if you are a werewolf before joining the dark brotherhood, when talking to anjborn (astrid’s husband) will notice right away the first time and will unlock secret dialogue since he is one as well

As far as I'm aware, the Reveler's item he gives you matching his offer (the Charmed Necklace) is pretty special in it's own right. It grants you 100 Carry Weight, but it is ALSO one of the few items that will grant you the Fortify Carry Weight enchantment. Hope you've been carrying around a spare bottle of Honeybrew on you, if you want to complete your enchantment collection!

Replaying my Skyrim file this week for the first time in a couple years, and I ran into the guy with the cow. I followed him, and the giants actually were not at the camp at the time. There was one walking around somewhere nearby-ish but it was too far away to interact with the farmer. The cow was left at the edge of the pond, while the farmer left the camp. All he says "I'm headed to the inn" after successfully leaving the cow. And I followed him all the way to Rorikstead. He enters the inn but he disappears once you follow him inside. Glad he managed to survive in my file, though I wish I could have picked his brain some more about his successful offering.

The cow thing actually comes from the "The Seven Fights of The Aldudagga", in fight six Dagon comes disguised to Tamriel and tries to fool a Nord girl who wants to convince the giants to protect them from Alduin. Basically the Seven Fights are scriptures from former Kalpas which each end with Alduin eating the world which would mean the custom of painting cows to appease giants is a remnant from one of these Kalpas which can be now found in the current Kalpa in which the series is set.

For the first one here, if you *DON'T* follow the man with the cow, if you wait about 7 in-games, the same painted cow can be spotted being led back to the giant's camp by a giant themselves.

That's not just any necklace the reveler will give you, but a CHARMED necklace which enhances your carry weight by 25 points - really helps when you're looting a dungeon or the freshly-made corpse of a dragon. That's why I always make sure to have some Honningbrew mead on me in case I encounter them - and it has happened multiple times. (So I can have one for function, and one for disenchanting.) Though I had no idea that there was a Black-Briar mead response, as I never have the stuff on me. Probably because I hate Maven and the majority of her family that much. 😂

I recently encountered the offering, but the farmer had already encountered the giants and was killed, so the cow was just left to wander about. I also encountered the revelers, but a bear came by and killed them all just as they started to interact with me.

Along with the painted cow being with that farmer, I’ve seen the cow being led by a giant and dead on top of one of those grills giants make out of logs.

I always assumed that its intended that the Giants kill the cow guy. Always made sense to me that they probably just don't care about the offerings and would kill him anyway

Noooooo the giants squashed the nice cow man. My innocence is finally gone. My favourite thing about the revelers is the conversation between the two guys doing the drinky-drink dance - that one guy who would rather have two bottles of mead instead of two wenches because the mead won't talk your ear off. I laugh every time I hear it.

I ran around skyrim numerous times, and only ran into the revelers ONCE so far.

The Revelers are wholesome and all, but the first time I ran into them, they ended up being vampires and tried to kill me. Not sure what went wrong, but I'm always cautious and distrustful when I run into them now. :')

I remember the first time I encountered the revelers I followed the around for a while and after 10 minutes or so we ran into a cave bear and they all got mauled. I poured one out for them and still think of them to this day

I wish there was a random encounter where a rogue person would run up with one of the explosive fire jars from dungeons and slam it at your feet, making it so you have to kill him from a distance.

Actually, if you leave the area after the offering cow event, and come back later, you can see a giant with the same cow behind him. Also the giant will not be hostile towards you unless you of course kill his new pet cow.

Nate you may already know this but I just recently figured it out. If you defend a giant or mammoth that's already engaged in a battle, they'll be docile towards you. I once saved a giant's camp from a dragon attack and then the giant let me walk right up to him. Pretty neat.
