Skyrim released with an abundance of quests to do, places to visit and adventures to go on back in 2011. However, seven years later many players might finally be beginning to question if they’ve experienced pretty much all of what The Elder Scrolls 5 has to offer. Well there’s still reason to suspect Skyrim is keeping a few secrets. So today we’ll be taking a look at five more things you (probably) didn’t know you could do in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

You left out the best part of the last one. If you tell Maven about the horse thief from the start and give her updates as you go, she lets you keep the horse at the end and neither her nor the horse thief send anyone after you.

Hey nate here’s something I just discovered: If you finish doing all the greybeard quests WITHOUT visiting the college of winterhold, you get unique dialogue options when speaking with Faralda and Urag. She lets you in if you demonstrate a shout, and Urag gives you the elder scroll books if you tell him you’re the dragonborn

It may be kind of mundane by now, but I’ve never heard anyone mention it. On my first ever play through of Skyrim I wondered across Cisero transporting the Night Mother’s coffin and a wheel had broken on his little wagon beside a farm outside Whiterun. After some talk with Cisero and a little fetch talk with the farmer, you help repair his wagon and he’s on his way. At the time I had no clue who he was, and thought why he had such a unique voice? I still remember this random encounter years later because of how innocent, unique, and sinister it was. “Please won’t you help me?” Said the strange jester. “I’m just taking my mother to our new home. Please won’t you help us kind traveler?” Also a fun fact about Cisero, if resurrected with the spell “Undead Thrall” (highest level conjuration zombie spell) he has a few unique dialogues that I found funny. Most followers just moan or grunt when they die, Cisero says “Coming mother”

You can also tell Maven about Sibbi's little deal, she'll tell you it's fine and that she'll take care of the issue later... ...in a random encounter you'll come across letrush's dead body, with a dead bandit nearby that has a bounty on it from Maven

Here's a one that's not been mentioned yet: In one or two black books, there's a puzzle section where you take damage if you enter the shadows, and have to stay under these floating moving light sources in order to not die. But you don't _need_ to use those light sources; player-made light works just as well. The novice-level alteration spell Candlelight makes the whole section _laughably_ easy. Magelight works as well, and I haven't tested torches but I assume they're equally effective.

Not sure if you covered this yet But I just realized something When you have finished up the dark brotherhood Questline And have the sanctuary all nice fully equipped in dawnstar There is the torture chamber When you talk to the people there, or, more efficiently, use some means to drop their hp but NOT kill them, they ALL tell you about some hidden treasure, every one a different one

Yup. I seem to remember seeing another bandit journal talking about them at a third location, too. Those two bandits are about the most hardluck duo in the game. I wish Eisa was recruitable. For one, she's about the tallest character in the game next to Tsun.

I don’t know if you’ve covered this but in a random world encounter, where a thief comes up to you and asks for your stuff, you can respond with “I thought a nightingale would be treated with more respect” or something of that nature if wielding the nightingale blade. This was shown in Verdict of Odin’s January 2019 Load Order video. (Although he does have the nightingale forever mod, I think that’s what it’s called, so that could be the reason for this)

I'm not sure about whether you have covered this before or not, or if anyone has commented this, but if you pickpocket Falk Firebeard before doing the second part of "The man who cried wolf," you can find the letter he sends to you via courier in his pocket, directed for you, whether you have started the mission, or did not. He is just carrying a letter addressed to your character about it from "world spawn" until he sends it to you via courier.

In regards to the quest Promises To Keep, you can also tell Maven about what you’re doing after talking with Sibbi. She’ll then tell you to go along with Louis for now and she’ll deal with him later. And then a random encounter will become available with a hired thug attacking Louis saying “Maven says “hello”.” I know this because I done it and seen the encounter.

@@shazzeler_hamlet it's a great game imo. I played it in 2018 so I'm not blinded by nostalgia. At first I got a little overwhelmed by it because of how different it was but I grew to love it. You can make graphics a little better with graphic extender mod. You should also download the code patch and patch all the bugs and all. The combat system isn't like skyrim or oblivion where every strike hits so you have to be careful at character creation. If you choose great sword as one of your main skills you should use a great sword because you literally can't hit anything with Amy other weapon. Give it time and don't rush the game.

I was playing Rune Factory 4 the other day and I spoke to a random soldier who said "dungeon crawling? I'd love to go but I took an arrow to the knee a couple years ago so..." A unique glitch with the spell absorb is you can accidentally absorb one of the apprentice’s spells at the college of winterhold. Therein makinging her quest incompletable. Watch out for that. You cannot make her a follower if this happens. She’s the Dunmer apprentice.

I just had a funny encounter/glitch while playing. I didn’t return the Helm of Winterhold to Jarl Korir before I finished the Civil war quest fighting for the imperials and the quest is still there, but he’s be driven out and you can’t give him the helm anymore. He’s living in Windhelm and you have to break into the home to see him. I love watching your videos because I get to still see new dialogue and then sometimes have clues on new ways to play!

After talking to Sibi in the jail, you can go to Maven and tell her about the stealing of Frost. She will then give you permission to proceed as planned and sort it out later with Louis.

I love the detail that, if you’re a member of the thieve’s guild, when you infiltrate the Thalmor Embassy during Diplomatic Immunity, Etienne Rarnis, the prisoner being interrogated for information on Esbern, mentions that he’s seen you around the flagon, and if you free him and he survives you can later find him in the guild headquarters, where he’ll thank you for your help.

Why does nobody talk about how after you talk to Sibbi Black-Briar, you can immediately go to Maven and tell her all about the plot? It’s such a cool dialogue tree, and she basically tells you that you are good in her books and that she will dispose of the dude later using the brotherhood. Which also means she knew that her guards at the lodge would be killed by you and was fully ok with it

Maven also has unique dialogue for promises to keep If you have started promises to keep and have talked to sibbi In the thieves guild quest where you meet with maven to put honningbrew Meadery out of business she says something along the lines of “Go ahead, is like yo see how far he gets with this little scheme ”

I've got one for you. If you're playing the VR version, and you have motion controllers, archery becomes an incredibly powerful tool. Because you can fire arrows as fast as you can make the motion to draw the bow, and there's no bowstring in the real world to make it more difficult for you to do so, you can deal a huge amount of damage in a small amount of time. It works best on large enemies, or enemies that don't have ranged attacks of their own. Giants are a perfect example of this: you could probably take out a giant camp very early in the game with this method, provided you have enough arrows.

You can have up to 4 mage lights on If you cast magelight on an npc, such spell will have a candlelight effect on the npc You can't cast it twice on adult npcs, however, you can cast it once on a child and once on an adult If you also cast candlelight and magelight on any part of the terrain, you'll prolly get blind cuz 4 little stars are way too much light

Also about the Frost thing, you can actually tell Maven, and she'll tell you to carry on normally, and she'll take handle it later. While it's painted as a sort of "Maven and/or some hired arms are there to kill or arrest Letrush" situation, it's actually a "later random encounter of a thug killing Letrush for Maven" situation. You can also still take Frost for yourself, and as far as I can tell, Maven won't send thugs after you if you've told her about it.

I'm not sure if you covered this yet. If you have access to console commands or mods on the Xbox or Playstation you can use clipping at pretty much any outside vendor and go underneath them and you can take everything from their chest but they'll still have gold to buy things from you, and things to sell to you. You can also do this inside shops. The guy that sells fish in solitude just happens to have 36,000 gold every time I get his chest

In the quest to steal Frost (the horse) you can also report the matter to Maven herself. I forgot what exactly she says but I think she thanks you for telling her the plan.

Don't forget you also can go and tell Maven Blackbriar that Sibbi plans to steal the horse. She won't stop you, and in fact she says she's not super surprised. She even goes along to say something about wanting to watch her child and see if he screws this up or not.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you can also tell Vex and Delvin about the situation with Sibbi Black-Briar and Frost. There's at least someone else aside from Brynjolf you can tell anyway, and I think it's them, I just don't remember for sure. Not that I ever did, of course, but the option was there.

It's funny because I adopted Lucia many levels before I started the civil war questline. She lived in Solitude the whole time, yet durning the battle for Whiterun she was running around 🙄 and I had to tell her to go home. And for no reason she literally popped out of existence 😂. i talked to maven about the horse, and you can actually talk to her about it. she says to go through with it and she’ll keep an eye on you and louis, so you can do it without maven getting mad at you. felt so rewarding to think of that and then it actually worked

"Can talk to Brynjolf about Sibbi", no, you can talk to virtually every major character in the Thieves Guild, as well as Maven Black-Briar herself, who literally gives you her blessing to proceed (even though her guards will never get that memo).

In addition to killing the leader of the summoners in the Potema quest, you can do a similar trick and snipe Neloth's nemesis Ildari when she appears on a platform to address you and summon enemies to kill you before retreating further into the dungeon. She's very tough, but with a high enough archery skill, a good enough bow and arrows, maybe some poison and or a potion of true shot, and a few quick shots before she retreats, you can take her down early. Maybe a future thing you probably Didn't know you could do in Skyrim?

#5 also you can go tell Maven Black-Briar and she will tell that her and Sibbi "have a history" and that she will "deal with Sibbi", and tell you to go through with it. ( Sibbi Black-Briar dose not disappear/despawn ). Another thing that you can do is after you steal Frost you can tell Louis that you are *keeping the horse* and you can either threaten him or you can kill him

Don't know if you've covered it, but another option on promises to keep, is to talk to maven directly after receiving the quest, she will off a unique dialogue set and "side quest" encouraging you to go along with the plan

Diseases also count as spells, so you can absorb them. And for some reason when you absorb it it just fills your magicka to max.

Quite funnily, on my first playtrough, i did that risky marksman-trick with the necromancer leader. What Nate's videos really taught me is that you are not supposed to absolve that quest this easily. xD

the last mission you mentioned with the horse. if you tell Mavian about the quest right after you get it before you see her son, she will let you do it and not be mad.

A lot of people maybe already know this glitch. The armor mannequin in the basement at Winstad Manor is magic and just keeps on giving. Whatever armor you put on it initially will respawn over and over. For example, put the Ebony Mail armor on it, leave the basement, return to the basement and take it off the mannequin. When you leave and return to the basement, it will be wearing the Ebony Mail armor again. Remove it and repeat. It will respawn over and over and over. I gave all of my followers and house carls Ebony Mail armor and used it as a money-maker. If you enchant it and improve it, and then sell it for 25,000+, you can increase your speech to 100 in one or two sales. Even if the merchant you are selling to only gives you 2500, it was free and will increase your speech rapidly because of the value. You can then make the skill legendary and redistribute your perks numerous times all thanks to the magic mannequin.

For the mission a promise to keep u can actually participate in the mission only until u get to the part where u first talk to Sibbi then when u ask him what to do he tells u and says there will be a reward if u demand that he pays u more he will give u a key leading to the hidden stash and right after that u can tell maven so there will be no one coming after h and she won’t be mad at u

here's an Easter egg type thing! (it at least happens in my game) so, if you go to the Whiterun Imperial camp, go down the hill by the large rocks right next to the camp, there will be a shrine of Zenithar. In that area, every time I go there, there's a random encounter, and I mean EVERY time I go there (unless its like minutes after i cleared the area, you get it). Hey Nate! Not sure if you covered this BUT after you complete Namira's quest in the Reach, it unlock 2 unique random encounters. The first is finding a man named Sigar in the wilds next to a dead corpse, and the other is a hunter seeking to kill any cannibal he meets

Continuation, Sigar asks if you would like to share a bite of the dead body if you have Namira's ring, and the cannibal hunter will either try to kill you or ask for the cannibal shrine, depending if you have Namira's Ring equipped

#4: Wow, I didn't know the Draugr killed the Necromancers. I had multiple playthroughs, but I ALWAYS sniped the ritual leader from the Entrance of the cave and when I found the necromancers dead I always assumed that they drop dead scripted when the ritual is broken. So I knew I could do that, but I didn't know that wasn't ordinary. ^^ #5: I also knew that. Seems quite natural to me as I wouldn't be NOT a member of the Thieves guild shortly after entering Rifton foir the first time... (I alwas join every guild and become Master of it....)

That bit with the Necromancers in Wolfskull Cave, I will never forget how freaking confused I was. I loosed an arrow, trying to see if I could kill the glowing blue thing at the top of the tower. I missed completely, but apparently my arrow was JUST enough of a distraction to break the hold over the draugr. Because, when I got into that castle, there were a whole bunch of dead necromancers, and a lot of pissed off, partially injured draugr. I had no freaking clue what happened, but I had no problem reaping the benefits of the unseen battle.

You can tell maven that this plot is happening. When you talk to the guy and get the quest. Before taking to the guy in jail. You can get the quest to burn the bee hives and tell maven then about the plot she has some pretty interesting dialogue and It will completely change the quest to get frost

actually when i attacked whiterun for the stormcloaks, i found that old lady chilling at the whiterun gates and saying" talking to an old lady, doing your good deed for the day".
