I did it once, but totally forgot the effect it gave you. Probably because I never bothered with Alchemy in my first few playthroughs. Now I will do the quest again, because Alchemy, combined with Enchanting and Smithing, will make your character very powerful.

I would like to formally acknowledge that being a vampire with the necromage perk before getting any of these abilities will increase them permanently by a certain percent. For example, resist magic by 15% would increase to about 20% permanently.

Exactly, Archer builds are god awfully boring and their very weak to begin with, as someone who has made legendary difficulty runs with basically all builds, Archery is by far the weakest and most pathetic skill, worse then destruction magic till you max out smithing too.

By the way, Ancient knowledge has been glitched, at least in the original, in ALL version, (PS3, XBOX, PC) What it's suppose to do is give Dwarven Armor an increase, but instead, it gives ALL armor an increase, all armor except for Dwarven. I'm not sure whether this was patched in Special edition, but if you're playing this in the original, you actually have a much better time.

It's actually still broken in the current patch. It gives an armor bonus of 25% to all armor *except* Dawrven, and makes smithing 15% stronger instead of leveling up 15% faster.

Darwin Ant. Diaz Hidalgo I once made a balanced character that did nothing but stack Magic Resistance (Breton + Lord Stone + Mara's Blessing) and it had better survivability than my tank warrior. It's odd how magic in higher levels sucks ass when we use it, but when enemies use it they roflstomp us without either insane Sneak assassinations or magic resist builds.

The Ancient Knowledge perk is actually bugged, it instead improves your fortification of equipment by 15% and increase your armor rating by 25% for all armor sets (except for dwarven armor 🤣). It can however be fixed by getting the unofficial patch.

From the Ancient Knowledge entry on the Elder Scrolls wiki (this only applies to the PC version of the game): "Even though the effect's description says it only improves how fast Smithing can level up, it may improve how far armor and weapons can be upgraded instead." I think I would actually prefer if it affected tempering instead, since that would make the bonus useful even after you've maxed Smithing.

You forgot the bard college quest completion for faster speechcraft leveling "gift of the gab". Maybe not too handy for vanilla perks but very handy for ordiantor perk overhaul that makes speech worth it

You should know 2 things about what you said regarding "invincible to mages" in the part about the blessing of mara: 1. magic resist in skyrim reaches its maximum at 85% and everything higher has no effect/is useless 2. the atronach perk does not provide magic resist but spell absorption, what is something different

Be Breton, get the Agent of Mara, the Lord stone (as he said in the video) and twice the perk for magic resist. You'll have 85% resist without enchants. You can ofcourse get enchants for specific elements (also capping at 85%), but it results in a total resistance of 97,75%. Even on legendary you can easily stand in dragonfire with that.

@@Vincrand Or even better, become a vampire, and get the necromage perk. Grab the atronach stone and the atronach perk in the alteration school and you will have 100% spell absorption. necromage brings the atronach stone up to 62.5% spell absorption, and it brings the atronach perk up to 37.5% spell absorption, bringing your total spell absorption to exactly 100%. I would only recommend this if you aren't going to use summoning spells, or the shadow warrior perk. Although i think the shadow warrior perk restores your magicka because it gets absorbed, so it might be worth to pick up. Not to mention a vampire with necromage can get the strongest enchantments, and can easily make the negatives of being a vampire redundant with enchanting. The weakness to fire is already redundant just from having the atronach stone and perk, so i just enchant myself with increased stamina and magicka regeneration to counter the halved regeneration in daylight negative effect. Plus you get so many bonuses to the perks you have. You just need to make sure to become a vampire and grab the necromage perk before putting points into other perks, otherwise the perks you got before becoming a vampire with necromage won't be affected by the necromage perk.

I know about that, but the downside of necromage is that you have to get it early, meaning you will get early on both restoration 70 and alteration 100. Probably also enchanting 100 to get the most out of necromage. This will level all enemies a lot, making you very weak to physical attacks in thr process until you get smithing ofcourse, but at that point you are already at end-game gear. For the mr route you ofcourse also need a lot of levels, but restoration isn't needed and alteration will be 70 instead of 100.

@@Vincrand I just get a ton of septims and train restoration until level 70, then i farm the chest at dawnstar to learn enchantments and use all the soul gems to increase enchanting skill. This is where you can train both enchanting and smithing at the same time. Get the lover's stone for 15% increase to all skills (which is affected by the necromage perk), then farm enough iron and leather strips from the chest under the skyforge to craft say.. 200 iron daggers. Then use the soul gems you farmed from the dawnstar chest to increase enchanting. Pretty efficient way of increasing both smithing and enchanting at once. Lastly i find some giants to train up light or heavy armor, and block. Then find an enemy or use shadowmere to farm up whatever offensive skill you're using in combat. For me it's one handed. Before i became a vampire, i became a werewolf first as to not lock myself out of the companions. Then i just find serena, bring her back to harkon and become a vampire. Also i used two handed and heavy armor in that time so i wasn't underpowered, and not using the skills i want to use for the whole playthrough, until i get the necromage perk. I pretty much never use twohanded, and i'm going to use light armor for that 50% faster stamina regen to help with the regen in daylight. Only going to need 1 enchantment for stamina and magicka regen, as i will be using healing spells, which means health regen isn't needed.

Not an ability (instead a hidden power), but in the Dragonborn DLC, there's a unique helmet called the Visage of Mzund. In addition to giving a hefty stamina bonus and tying with Konahrik for the highest armor rating of any helmet, it also grants the ability to cast the power Breath of Nchuak when worn. Activating this power causes you to spray steam out of your face for low damage for a few seconds, and uses some stamina while the steam is being emitted. The useful part of this is that you can move and attack freely while spraying steam, and the steam's damage is also unaffected by blocking or anything besides magical resistance. Useful for warriors with high stamina, especially since the Visage of Mzund is considered to be a Dwarven Helmet, and thus can contribute to the Ancient Knowledge ability and the Matched Set perk, if worn with the rest of the Dwarven armor set.

If you have a maxed out blacksmithing skill the dwarven and ebony armour are both equal rating. Since the armour cap is 580 or something like that and it nullifies 80% of incoming melee damage, even with spells such as stone skin you cannot surpass this cap. You basically gain the ability to choose your armour for aesthetic purposes only.

Pred le Gredin affects all light and heavy armor except dwarven and improves tempering by 15%. any time your smithing skill rises substantially(practice, skill books, training, gear, potions, other effect or some combination) you can improve(again even, if you've done so before). a piece can be improved multiple times in the game, with a hitch. if u improve something then enchant it, u need the arcane blacksmith perk to improve it again. you also need it to improve pre enchanted items( guild master armor, savior's hide, dragon priest masks, etc). you can arguably make much better weapons than any u can find, but some nice combos of certain armor pieces and certain enchants cannot be recreated by the player by default( mods, maybe).

Tahsin Khalid Ebony Blade fully upgraded is amazing . While my upgraded Ebony Blade does almost 100dmg and absobs HP , my bloodskal blade is still really good with 90dmg and 30+ special dmg . It'S not about using the ebst weapons in skyrim , its about using fun weapons . BTW ,since we're talking about a build , the ebony blade would fit more

One thing you should have mentioned with the Blades quest... If you get to the point in the main story where Esbern discovers you've met Parthurnaax, Esbern won't speak to you anymore until you kill him. So make sure to do the Blades quests before that if (like me) you don't want Parthurnaax dead.

Without the Skyrim Unofficial Patch Mod, Ancient Knowledge increases armor in all armor sets EXCEPT dwarven armor. It is a bug lmao EDIT: spelling
