Skyrim: COVID Edition

The year is 2020 and the Unnamed Plague has come to Skyrim. As the realm falls into chaos, Whiterun locks its gates, quarantining all its citizens, and one orc will do whatever he must to survive this lockdown.
This is a survival video where we see how long we can survive in Whiterun on Skyrim survival mode in a quarantine-style simulation.
With Skyrim survival mode, your max stats fall if you go too long without meeting your basic survival needs: warmth, sleep, and food. Normally, only the cold will kill you from survival mode because cold reduces your max health, but we're adding the rule that if ANY of our max stats gets reduced to 0, that will count as our death and the end of the run. That way, hunger and sleeplessness are just as deadly as the cold.
Additional rules:
We can only take any given item one time, so we can't take advantage of any resources that automatically respawn (which seems to be most things in Skyrim).
We can only use each merchant one time, to prevent us from abusing any restocking of their inventory. In a real lockdown, they would have difficulty getting new supplies in anyway, so it's realistic.

As much as I know you've played Skyrim a lot on your channel, there's something about how you talk about things that makes me think you've never played it before. Like the existence of vegetable soup, easily the most practical and often-used food item in Skyrim

slight correction, you CAN sell stolen items to people in the city but you need the fence perk in the speech tree to do it which is 90 speech so idk if its even worth that grind anyways

You could use beggars for buff to speech and you can just draft items somewhere before stealing 😅 Also stealing early on could have given you even more gold to buy stuff with, but I don't know if you'd really be able to spend it

my guess is that in perfect conditions (not getting thrown in jail or the guards called on you), you could last around 2 months. whiterun has a lot of food lying around

Your hunger not advancing while in jail makes perfect sense, assuming they're feeding you in prison. Also, in the context of this challenge, them detecting you stealing their food makes perfect sense as well. To me, the idea of not having at least a month's worth of food (for one person) in your home is strange. Mostly because I hate going grocery shopping so I'll typically buy a month's worth of food in one trip and then not go shopping again for a few weeks or so.

@@lucidstateofmind8494 There were still ways of preserving food, it just wasn't as effective as fridges and freezers today. You'd usually store food in a cold cellar, away from sunlight and heat. You would also ferment a lot of food in salt, such as meat and fish, or dry it in the sun to make it last. And then there are cold resistant plants like potatoes.

Lucky for you in this quarantine is that you are the only person that actually needs food. Everyone else is just decorating their houses with it. (or it is a curse since the dragon born is the only one who will starve in this quarantine)

You having it easier when stealing keys it's actually a game mechanic, the lighter the item the easier it's to pickpocket it, also items with less value are easier to pickpocket The keys don't have any weight or value, so they are really easy to pickpocket, lol

I would love to see this expanded but as a whole world thing where good food is rare (make tomatoes and salt rare) and make most npcs hostile due to starvation. To make it better make most cities burning rubbles so supplies are lacking in main cities. I would love to see something like this (no harm if you cant just an idea for you
