@@chuckboyd4732 it is a glitch, and no it isn't patched even if you have the unofficial patch. It's pretty simple,go to whiterun you just drop an item one by one, make your companion pick them up all quick, take the gate out of whiterun, then when you load outside use your map and fast travel back to whiterun. The items should be on the floor and in the companions inventory.

So I finally found all the fragments and I was so excited to be fighting this boss, after placing the gem fragments the boss appears and I said "OK looks cool" and the after 15 SECOND on expert difficulty the fight was over and I said "this is some weak shit", not to mention the joke they call his loot.

Even later reply! But if you have mods, you can get The Legacy of the Dragonborn! It adds hundreds of cool artifacts and the reaper boss has a unique weapon that you can acquire after defeating him

I quick saved before the fight and loaded back up after i seen the disappointing loot. Kept the fragments for myself and put in my safe with my other gems, they seem to be a better unique reward than what the reaper actually drops 🤣

"The Reaper" sounds way too badass than what he actually is. He could stub his toe in the middle of the match and crumble to ashes. Also, (as overused as it is) I was kind of expecting more of a two handed weapon with its own unique design resembling a scythe or something, kind of like how the Daedric Princes have their own unique weapon designs. (Dawnbreaker, Mehrunes Razor, Sanguine's Rose, etc...) That probably sounds like a bit too much, but damn, they could've at least enchanted the weapon lmao.

Same here. Plus it looks retarded. Nothing about it looks intimidating. They should have given us something genuinely creepy and difficult to fight. Like some kind of extra corrupted dragon priest type enemy. Like imagine a Daedric version of a Dragon Priest AND it had been corrupted by the Soul Cairn. It would use dark magic that would look like Dark Magic from Dark Souls 1 and Shadow Magic from World of Warcraft. Something like that.

if u want a weapon after completing this quest, download the mod "tenebrae". it's a weapon of light and darkness that spawns after you kill the reaper. makes it more worth it than an iron battleaxe

Finally playing Dawnguard for the first time. I had a glitch where after I killed the Reaper, I was unable to loot him. After seeing the rewards he drops, I don't think I'll bother reloading to fix it. Helpful video though!

Very disappointing boss, I fought him on legendary with a Bash and Slash character, he was tough health wise but he did almost no damage to me I've fought Frost Trolls who did more damage on easier difficultys, his goons did a bit of damage but not much, as someone who uses "Reaper" as his gamer name I'm even more disappointed, this should of been a really tough boss instead we got a low tier skeleton man with an ax, he didn't even look that cool.

Page one is in the wall that divides the soul cairn, on the side that you enter the cairn go to the dividing wall and follow it to the right. There will be stairs and a soul will be standing right next to it

There's a spot you can bypass the gate on the second one by circling around the back to find a fallen rubble you can hop on the ledge

The dawnguard treasures i keep finding are from spamming the side missions quests. Florentius tells you of a weapon of the dawnguard, and they have pretty cool effects. But it takes ages to get them, and i have no clue how many their are. Hope that helps!

Use unrelenting force to open the gate. Much easier and faster than shooting it with an arrow/bolt or casting a spell at the blue circle. Unrelenting force works every time for me.

Funny, I came here to look at all this to try and get it to work, cause I did new character and actually noticed this room for the first time. Because I had no idea where the gems were, I figured I would find a video. Funny thing is, I thought there was more to this because it needed the gems. Yet somehow when I went into the building it had already activated (Somehow) without the gems. I ran up to the wall the first time I was in there, and he came out. I got a better question, how come when you shot those orbs with arrows in the 2nd location it works but anywhere else it doesnt? Like whats the spell to unlock those orbs?

I think they're kind of busted with their animations, but they should work/activate if you shoot them with a bow and arrow or a destruction spell of any type. There's no spells to unlock the orbs, they should be there during normal gameplay. Try loading back into a previous save and see if it works then, that's what usually helped me when stuff bugged out :D

any one else notice on the second fragment as his character keeps going right, he says to go left? screwed me up. I think I found a bug to. I had two fragments in the pedestal thing, and walked around hearing the hissing of skeleton soldiers so I thought, heck lets just shoot some lightning into the big pile of bones straight from the door. at the time I did not know it was the Reaper but he came out with skeleton soldiers and I killed him, then left to go find my last fragment. after I did, put them all in the pedestal...nothing happened, kept saying I lacked the item. finally looked at the batter and remembered I already killed him. weird. so how do I use the portal?
