Btw a quick tip when it comes to modding, I would copy everything including your saves into a backup folder before modding it. That way you can always delete your modded skyrim and paste the vanilla and see if it fixes the crash. Just good practice when you think you made your game unstable from modding. Also never delete mods mid playthrough or install huge mods midplaythrough. The official devs specifically said this can corrupt files in your save and will make it unstable. It's best to install all your mods and then start a brand new game and dont add anymore mods. I've been modding since classic skyrim with no dlcs and I've done countless troublshooting to make my 1000+ modded skyrim stable. Tbh, I would just stick to vanilla skyrim. I've always found it the most stable.

@ForeverZer02 жыл бұрын
I agree, and it is actually 2% (1.98% to be exact), which is about 1/50 swings. That is relatively frequent for such a powerful effect in a weapon that will be swung often, especially using duel-wield combos attacks. Not my favorite weapon in the game, but undeniably powerful.

As for Steam Common Redistributables, and you probably have already done this many times over, right clicking on the game then properties, > Local Files > verify integrity of game files the system will do a two step process where it checks the actual game files then checks the "Common Redistributables" and updates/repairs these files, then the game plays fine after 75 to 90% of the time. When I get Skyrim or other games crashing out like you mention that is the first thing that I am checking and "generally" fixes the issues, now how is that tied into the mods? Not sure, I only have the World Map mod installed. But as you say Major, the mileage may vary.
@MajorSlackAttack3 жыл бұрын
Verify integrity of files does not update Steam Common Redistributables if you have it set to 'Only update when I launch this app'. I ran the Verify Integrity at least 3 or 4 times during the debugging process. Not my first rodeo here... ;)

Thanks for the video. Where do I find this Steam common redistributables thing to update it, because my Skyrim special edition is not working and I hope that updating this will fix it.
@MajorSlackAttack3 жыл бұрын
In the top left corner of Steam, directly below the Home button, there should be a 'Games' button by default. Click on the 'Games' button to get a drop down list and make sure the 'Tools' option is checked. Now you'll have a complete list of all games and tools managed by Steam listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down near the bottom of your list of games and tools to find 'Steam Common Redistributables'.

I've only ever gotten the 3 mines for the Falkreath Jarl quest. Cracked Tusk Keep only comes up for me for the Daedric quest. And it makes sense. The Jarl was getting a cut of profits for the mined ore. It's possible he was getting a cut from the hunters for their poaching, but I don't see it making as much money as ore for weapons, tools and armor, especially with a war in progress.

You should be able to get the exact mine you want by quicksaving after the Jarl is done talking but before "QUEST STARTED" pops up on your screen, quickload if it doesn't give you the one you want. You can do something similar with the quests for the Thieves Guild so you can do jobs in the cities you're working on.
@MajorSlackAttack3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that works for the Thieves Guild Additional Jobs. Done that in several walkthroughs already. However, saves inside the Falkreath Jarl's longhouse don't work. Reloading them will always give you the same location. Been there, done that.

I use MO2 and not NMM(Vortex?); but, I had a similar issue at one point. Somehow one of my game files had become corrupted. I went into Steam and re-validated files, it found an issue and re-downloaded a couple of files. Not sure that would work with NMM as it (last I knew) it actually changes the data directory. MO2 does not do that, it is all a virtual directory with MO2. Perhaps the newer NMM (Vortex) does something similar, not sure.

When I first played Skyrim (2013/14), my game would freeze and crash whenever I selected certain items, including Creeper Clusters and (tragically) carrots. I think it was a texture glitch. Good to hear you got the crash problem fixed; I don't do anything but pure cosmetic mods to avoid problems. I am doing a pure vanilla run for the achievements and am really missing the map/clear skies mods :(. Found making save at whatever stable I use to go to Falkreath the first time and going directly to the Jarl, rinse and repeat if I don't get what I want worked. Might get the same one a couple of times before it switched but it worked. This sounds lot easier _ many many thanks to the poster.
