Skyrim - How I Defied the Odds to Get the BEST BOW

Here’s how I managed to defy the odds to get the BEST BOW in Skyrim at level 1 and how you can too! In today’s video I show you step by step how to attain the Bow of Shadows (aka. the BEST BOW in Skyrim in my opinion) at level 1… despite the adversity 😅
The stealth archer is already OP in Skyrim, you can snipe just about anything from an absurd distance away and take it down with just a single arrow, remaining undetected. 🥷 With the right bow, upgrades, enchantments and gear, you can be an unstoppable force, but typically, getting to this stage can take some time. The best bows in the game, for example, the Bound Bow (Mystic), Dragonbone Bow, Auriel’s Bow, Zephyr & Daedric Bow, all take a considerable amount of effort to attain. The prerequisites always consist of levelling skills, or require a long drawn out quest. But what if there was a bow that had the stats, and was backed up with easy retrievability? 🤔 Well… you’re in luck folks, because now there is one! 🏹
The Bow of Shadows is a NEW Creation Club weapon that’s included in the Anniversary Edition (but can be purchased separately). It’s dead easy to get too, and can be retrieved at level 1, as I show in this video. You can now equip your Stealth Archer with a devastating bow, literally at level 1!

you can get this quest after completing any bounty for the City of Whiterun. Go to Hulda and ask for any work, she’ll say “Some of the jarl’s men came by and dropped off this bounty”. Kill the bandit leader mentioned and go to proventius, turn in the bounty. he’ll now have the dialogue to start the quest.

Best or not the bow of shadows is fun but the dwarven black bow of fate is my favorite weapon in all of skyrim! Its ominously collored with glowing orange lines and a rather great enchantment, sure lots of better choises, but i love that bow so much xD

A lot of the anniversary edition weapons are broken. High damage, ridiculously overpowered, and you can get them instantly. The Bow of Shadows and Dawn/Duskfang specifically. Literally more powerful than daedric that you can get instantly, not to mention the literal DRAGONBONE ARMOR you can get somewhere. (Champions rest I think idk) the fact that you can get the best weapons and armor super early kinda sucks and I try to not to use them until I am a higher level.

Another drawback (hehe) is that the bow is set to normal instead of silent, like the high level nightingale bow. Meaning enemies can hear where the arrows come from, as well as where they hit like normal. This can make you get detected easier. The unofficial creation club patch may fix this, but I haven’t played with mods in awhile, so I’m not sure.

As good as this bow is, and it is my go-to bow of choice, i have found on numerous play throughs and have noticed a few YT personalities also have this issue, that it bugs out after awhile and stops making you invisible when pulling out the bow.. Un-equipping and re-equipping gear sometimes fixes it, but not for long.. Would be nice if they fixed this issue. Last thing i needed was a vanish to fail on pulling out my bow and getting drawn and quartered.. lol

Is the bow not having a material key word assigned to it was a fluke in its development... _or was it intentional?_ I mean, I can understand why Bethesda Game Studios probably opted to not assign one: with its damage output and draw speed, the bow can already make short work of a ton of enemies, especially when utilized in stealth builds; adding a m.k.w would've made the bow even more broken. *Edit:* I forgot to mention that since the bow can be acquired very early in the game, that'd also be another reason why BGS left out an m.k.w

The Bow of Shadows’ level is static I think, so you can get it at level 1 without any worry 🏹 but yeah, for items that scale, they say it’s best to get them at their highest level, but upgrading will sort that out 👌

I just use a mod to make it give you the highest leveled reward. It's a good idea in theory but some of the level requirements are pretty absurd. I don't want to wait until level 42 to finish the Nightingale Quest, by that point I'd already have stuff that rivals the bow and armor.

Only thing stopping me from using this bow more is that design-wise, it looks a bit bland. I'd rather use something cooler looking like the Daedric or Dragonbone Bow with a powerful elemental enchantment.

I'm still more biased towards the Bound Bow - run into Fort Amol, find the book, get out - with the Scoped Bows mod - why aren't irl bows scoped like those?

Yeah, it is a great bow and with unlimited arrows tbf and even better with Mystic Binding! It's shame it can't be upgraded further though. That Scoped Bows mod looks pretty cool though! Reminds me of the Glass Bow of the Stag Prince 🏹

its by far the best bow in the game for stealthy archers. you can steal in front of people watching you and everything and wont be discovered. the only downside is like most of bethesdas problems is the bow can eventually glitch and no longer cast stealth which is what makes it broken in the first palce. and theres no perma fix for it that ive seen online. so once it happens its meh

I think this is patched by the unofficial patch mod, not sure. But a temporary fix that seems to work when this happens is to unsheathe your bow, remove your helmet and then place the helmet back on

Bound Bow with the Mystic Binding perk from the conjuration skill tree is the highest damage per second weapon in the game. it might not one shot a dragon, but you can mow down an army in a matter of seconds.

As an actual archer, the skyrim bows always annoy me so much.

Also, stealth damage is backwards. In reality, an unprepared target is almost always going to be hurt less than a prepared one. When muscles are taut (which happens when you're stressed), the arrow will stick better and do more damage if removed. Loose muscles don't take as much damage (idk the biological reason) from an arrow, and the arrow can actually slip loose easily. This is part of the reason doctors will use anesthetic during operations. They can hurt you more if your muscles are taut from stress.

@@theWelshWizard That could certainly explain why these random bandits think they have a skeever's chance in oblivion against the Dovahkiin after just witnessing them use a dagger and loud words to solo a dragon and a giant camp. They got a belly full of liquid stupidity coursing though their veins.
