Probably a limit to how long of a clip the AI can make, so they had to chop the gameplay footage into pieces and the AI doesn't have any context on how the last clip looked.

Runway only allows 10 second videos to be made for now so he cut the video into 10 second clips and generated them all individually and runway made them with different styles. Next year I think we will have 5-10 minute videos we can generate and it will be in the same style.
