Quick tip: in the room right after you bypass the runes if you look on the floor there’s a key. The forsworn looter asleep in the bed has the same key so if you don’t want to kill them or just want to bypass them just grab that key instead. 😉 Edit: Also, you can skip the ritual stone altogether and save yourself a bit of time. At the forsworn stronghold in Deepwood Vale there are buckets in/near the tents, and inside hags end there are platters/plates on the table. Just grab a few buckets and plates, “clip” through the stone door behind the throne and voila you can loot the armor right off the corpse. From there just drop another plate or bucket and use it to clip back. Tested and worked on the Nintendo Switch port of Skyrim 16 January 2020 with a level 1 character😄. If you are new and don’t want to spoil some of the storyline. Do this on a new character after you have beat the game. If you are an OG still playing after all these years then you know wassup 👌🏾

Just wanted to point something out, since you're in Hag's End anyway. Ancient Shrouded Boots have a muffle effect of 0.5. Meaning they'll make your footsteps 50% quieter. Another .5 muffle can be found with the perk in the sneak tree. However, there's a pair of unique hide boots in Hag's end called "Predator's Grace," which has a 1.0 Muffle effect, the only one that doesn't come from the spell in the game.

I just spent the previous 2 or so hours getting this set of armor on my level 2-3 wood elf archer character. However, I was stupid enough to forget the ritual stone power, but I was so deep in the ruin that I didn't feel like running back, and risking all the mobs respawning again. I was actually at the hidden wall where the assassin was behind. I remembered a neat little trick to glitch through the wall using a Wooden Plate. All you do is pick up a Wooden Plate, drop it out of your inventory, drag it till it's about the same height as your face/neck, then sprint into the wall with the wooden plate in between you. Sometimes you get really lucky and get through on the first try, but other times it's much more difficult. Most times you will see the other side but can't run through, what you do is right when you see the other side of the wall, stop running, your character will then briefly be pushed to the other side of the wall. REMEMBER TO BRING A 2ND WOODEN PLATE! The first one you use to get INSIDE the hidden room will NOT come with you! So bring a 2nd Wooden Plate so you can get back OUT! Overall it's much more difficult than just using the Ritual Stone power, but I forgot it and was too far into the dungeon to turn back, luckily it all worked out in the end. My level 3 character is now wearing the Ancient Shrouded Armor and I'm now working on a walkthrough on how to get the Dwarven Black Bow of Fate (From the Dragonborn DLC), as it is the most powerful unique bow in the game.

Major Gear i used the wooden plates in the dining room. Hold it up head hight and just sprint from the stairs straight to the wall basically smaking yourself against the plate and u will either briefly see the other side or glitch through.

Little known fact; Skyrim buckets are magical! One of their abilities is to let you pass through walls and even doors. This is how I chose to overcome getting into that secret room with the dead assassin, and there's also a chest in there. Warning though, you'll need at least 2 buckets for this, one to enter the room and one to exit back into the main dungeon. Have fun with your buckets. :)

A note on this trick to get the Ancient Shrouded Armor if you use the current USLEEP patch on the PC version: USLEEP fixes the glitch that allowed the Ritual Stone power to affect the assassin corpse behind the door, meaning this method doesn't work any longer on PC. However, you can still get the armor early without doing the Dark Brotherhood quests by opening the dev console and typing tcl to turn off the collision detection and walking through the door to get the armor, then back out before turning collision detection back on.

Thanks. I tried like 10 times and it didnt work, now I know why. I have no idea why did they "fixed" this. This was a cool feature (exploit). Next time they should focus on bigger problems like followers/summoned units standing in doors blocking the way. After they fixxed the anoying shit than they can fuck up the usefull ones.

If you're playing with mods, look into a mod called "move it dammit". This causes followers and summoned units to get behind you or back up depending on how you collide with them.

In the Wyrmstooth DLC add-on, you can visit the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary on the far East of the island. You can walk right in without a password. There is no one alive. You'll find one member that has the armor on. All you have to do is loot it from them and walk out. If you're more adventurous read the note you will also find. Go down to the lower levels in battle a few Drauger for some better treasure

I play on 360 and this worked beautifully, no issues. I'm was 18 or 19 Yesterday and played with this armor for a few hours and I'm already 27. Sneak is now 100 and the 30x backstab is, as ESO would say, 'Ridiculous'. I have an Elven dagger *(That I actually pickpocketed off of Karliah)* and Chillrend that I found snooping through Mercers house. Excellent armor, incredible damage and just a fun build. Thanks ESO.

Yes its possible but you need to get the Ancient Shrouded Armor. You get it near the end of the questline of the Dark Brotherhood. The only thing is you can't upgrade the armor of this set.

Hey ESO. The one thing I'd not here is that you can't level the armor with smithing until AFTER you get to that point in the dark brotherhood quest, even with the arcane enchanter perk in smithing. So, you can get the armor (which is a must by the way), but one should definitely do the dark brotherhood quest as soon as possible to get to that stage in the quest where they can level it up. are you sure? I tried it multiple times and it didn't work on my ps4 special edition... I can't get the armour anymore since I already completed the dark brotherhood quest line and forgot to accept this side quest that gets you the armour

Justin Muse the unofficial patch is a mod made to fix many things people consider bugs in the game, but since it breaks alot of little features i personally dont use it.

Made a new assassin character and did this right away after leaving Helgen. By the time I left Hag's End, I think I was level 5. I went on to get those Valdr's Lucky Daggers. =) Thanks for the tips! I'm well on my way to a good start for an assassin.

Serana can raise him and then he turns into a pile of ash making it impossible to use the ritual stone power on him. Had to use the plate glitch to get my armor. Thanks Eso for the awesome Skyrim guides. Keep up the great work.

Hey just thought it might be worth looking into, but you can use a wooden plate and hold out against the wall and sprint to glitch through the wall and get the armor that way.

Not gonna lie. Getting through those Forsworn was a pain in my ass. Past that, that tip is amazing! • I used it to equip my khajiit thief. I did notice a glitch on the Switch version where you can’t see the hood after it’s equipped; I don’t know why that is, though.

Brilliant guide as usual. I've had the armour since the start pretty much, thanks to you. One thing I will say is that the armour has not respawned for me. It's been well over a year in game and when I went back the assassins naked body is outside still and not back inside. I even went in to check as I can get behind the wall now.

I done this years ago myself too. Not sure if it's patched but you can use this armor with the normal version, odd but we can wear 2 full sets at once. Another thing to note about the Dark Brotherhood is that there is a ring you can do if you do one of the missions perfectly and it can be worn with your normal ring. Just shows you that the Dark Brotherhood are the most broken content in the whole game. Please like so other people can test to see if this is true with there version of Skyrim.
