Was a disk drive issue but I squeezed a good couple years out of this game and senoritis kicked like a horse so I didn't do anything about it. Life got pretty busy for the next 5 years that had followed but this game I saw was SUPER cheap on the marketplace a little over a year ago and I still play it vanilla. “I hope Skyrim has helped you in some way throughout your life". Hell, yes. In 2011 I played Skyrim for the first time and really liked the dragon language in that game. Then I started learning English. Now I'm studying to become a translator. Of course, I won't become a master of the Voice, but Words can really change the world around us. I'm a translator. I was halfway through college when I first played Skyrim, and, like most games I've played, it helped me develop my English skills, apart from the fun I've always had with it. Skyrim got me through my dad’s death. We were very close. I wasn’t much of a gamer, and I wasn’t fond of turning to drugs, smoking, or alcohol to cope with the loss, so I turned to movies, music, exercise, but it just wasn’t enough. I bought and loaded up Skyrim on my new Xbox I got for Christmas in 2011. Damn it felt good to get lost in that world. We just saw the movie Thor together before his death and the Viking-esque game was nostalgic and awesome. It made me miss him, but I also felt closer to him, like he was right there with me on a continent called Tamriel on a world called Nirn in a Realm called Mundus, in a Void called the Aurbis, called a game disc. Bless my sweet wife who helped me through that time. She watched me play and we have so many fond memories of the game - everything from the cool intense parts to the downright hilarious glitches and awkward encounters. Skyrim will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have dovahzul tattooed on my right arm for a reason. This is the only game I have played consistently through all my hardship. EDIT: I appreciate all the kinds words. I got addicted once again but I am currently fighting it. As of today, 1/27/22, I am in recovery. I'm doing quite well. I have a very organized program in place and things are looking really good. In the late evenings, when he's asleep, I'm visiting Skyrim to get some relief and charge my batteries. I've played Morrowind and Oblivion a lot in my school days, but I've bought Skyrim only couple of months ago. Since that time, fighting with dragons, exploring different locations, helping Skyrim people or just wandering across whole open world - all this stuff helps me going through as well. Even the hope that comes from memories of that shiny world will fade sooner or later. You realise that it's all gone and means nothing. We can live _for_ the moment, as the moment continues to also become less and less enjoyable due to loss and the disabilities of age... Or we can make the most of the moment while planning for the future and better times to come (wisdom gained from your past). That's the only way to survive on an eternal scale - never losing hope in the future. For me, that means never losing hope in Christ. I don't see another way.

I wasn't expecting that to make me cry. Like, that hit a special place in my heart. Skyrim has been my favorite game since I first played it, just a couple days after it released. The day it came out was also my wedding day. For our 3rd anniversary, we got matching Thieves Guild tattoos. Since then I got into streaming it, working on mod projects, and writing fics. When I had a health scare, I played nothing but Skyrim between episodes of the office while recovering after getting out of the hospital. Skyrim is home and comfort for me. So much of my life has changed these past 10 years, and so much of it has been bad. The past 2 have been bad for almost everyone. But Skyrim is and forever will be my second home.

I grew depressed after i ended up having to stay home from the bullying and stuff. I eventually dropped out and got homeschooled before covid hit and i was playing skyrim and fallout the entire time. This game distracted me from my depression long enough for me to get over it and start talking to people again.
