Paarthurnax was literally created to spread evil and chaos. It was supposed to be his purpose and the reason for his existence. But he overcame his nature and went against his own kin for the good rest of the world. He changed himself. Meanwhile the blades' intentions were noble but they were a pale shadow of what they used to be. They were created to protect the world from dragons. But they lost sight of their objective. They became dragon hunters and didn't realise that they didn't need to kill every dovah. So much so that they refused to help the dragonborn in his quest. This means that they cared more about their hatred of dragons and their biases than they did about the fate of the world. And that's why in my opinion, paarthurnax is much better than the blades. He just wants peace. Blades want eradication of dragons and more than they want peace.
@DrakeBarrow3 жыл бұрын
I actually liked the Blades back in Oblivion. They were on the right side, and I felt sorry for them over the loss of the Emperor (they really tried, but the Mythic Dawn outmaneuvered them). He did well to overthrow Dragons and help Humans and Elves to end their tyranny. His words are true, never trust a Dovah. Kill them all or they will kill you. Few of them are good and helpful, but after their rolls are done and they can't help you in any other way, Dragonborn should kill them and absorb their Souls to prevent any future wars and disasters caused by Dragons. Last Dragonborn is meant to end the world of Dragons as is Alduin to end the world of Men and Mer.

@@Ecliptor. that is also wrong once again, he just questioned why would the dragonborn want to stop him and then the dragonborn said that it's his destiny then he agreed to help, of course he was hesitant, because he was like a brother with Alduin before, and a very powerfull dragon... That's why the blades want Paarthurnax dead, it's his past actions. But of course he has overcome his evil nature through great effort, and he seeks to bring peace to the world, by teaching his ways to the dragons after the dragonborn "defeated" Alduin. There are times after it that some dragons clearly won't attack you, and they just fly by. Though he might look like he doesn't care, but he does, he just doesn't want to take part in wars and other evil things he doesn't wish to take parts in. You can easily figure it out by speaking to him and the greybeards. So whatever the greybeards say or how they act, there is Paarthurnax's ways got to do with it too... A Cornered Rat: Well that was a bust but you uncovered a great new lead that is in IMMEDIATE MORTAL PERIL. Alduin's Wall: Well we don't have everything we need to know, but we know where to find the missing pieces. We'll help you get to it. Season Unending: Let's convince people to stop fighting and save the world. Now compare the Greybeards. The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller: We don't need the horn, really, but it's a learning experience to fight draugr. The Throat of the World: You managed to learn things we already knew and didn't want you to know. We will never teach you words again, you have to find them in dungeons. Also go talk to a dragon. Season Unending: We don't want to get involved. Maybe the end of the world is a good thing. But you asked nicely. The Blades are proactive and purpose-driven, working with the best intelligence they have, which they share readily. The Greybeards and Paarthurnax create nothing, do nothing, and conceal more than they teach. Do I think there's a purpose served in killing Paarthurnax? The demand that the Blades make to you shows that they do not understand what you are. Even Esbern, a scholar who understands more about the ancient history of the dragons and Dragonborn than just pretty much any human alive (aside from Miraak, of course) doesn't understand your nature. To Delphine you are simply a weapon, a blade to be pointed at dragons. She claims that the Blades serve the Dragonborn, but she doesn't actually believe it. To be a Dovahkiin is to truly have the soul of a dragon. To be Dovahkiin is to have the same will to dominate that all dragons have. The Dragonborn must struggle with his or her nature just as Paarthurnax has, as the dragon points out. In game you can resist or give in as you see fit, but the struggle is there regardless. A wolf isn't blamed for obeying its nature. That doesn't mean you will let it attack your flock of sheep, but it is only doing what it was made to do. Dragons are only doing what they were made to do, and long ago Paarthurnax was no different. But now he IS different. He has struggled for thousands of years against his nature, he has become something better. He taught humanity the Way of the Voice, helping them to fight back against his own kind. He teaches the Dragonborn what is necessary to battle Alduin and save the world *and* the souls of mortals after they die. And the Blades want you to kill him? Fuck that. I fus ro dahed Delphine and Esbern off a cliff and walked away, never to return. Let the Blades fade into history while I go talk with my dragon buddy.

@TheNN6 жыл бұрын
Delphine was using the Dragonborn from the moment they met. She ONLY made a move because the Dragons returned. The Thalmor only looked for Esbern more because they thought he knew things about them. She manipulated things from day one, such as stealing the horn of Jurgan Windcaller knowing the Dragonborn would have to come and get it. Had the Dragons not reappeared when they did, she would've just simply stayed in hiding, probably til the day she died, Esbern might've been found and killed by the Thalmor possibly, and the Blades would've ended with them. It was only pure coincidence (at least in-universe that is) that things ended up working out for her at all. Dragons came back, as did a Dragonborn appearing with them, and from that she had her excuse to come out of hiding and strike back against the Thalmor. She had a Dragonborn at beck and call because she had things the Dragonborn needed, was able to set up a new base of operations, and declare herself the 'acting' Grandmaster of the reformed Blades. So by the end, by having the Dragonborn do all the hard work, she has essentially everything she wanted again without having to do anything all that difficult really. And so she has the utter GALL to order...ORDER the Dragonborn, the one person she is meant to be obeying, to kill Paarthurnax, merely because as 'dragon slayers' they and the Dragonborn should kill any and all dragons and all while cowardly hiding behind something so simply as saying that their 'oaths' as Blades now prevent them from helping the Dragonborn (also note that this little 'order' doesn't apply to Odahviing). As Arngeir says, "Bloodthirsty barbarians."

I never killed the blades, mainly because that would still be giving into the dragon nature to dominate
@warscardragon1006 жыл бұрын
You already feel to dominate something. I mean you become the leader of every guild. the Companions, the Thieves Guild, the College of Winterhold and the Dark Brotherhood. It's no coincidence that you become the head master all the sudden. You have the dragon's soul, meaning you'll be in control of something. Hack I wouldn't be surprised if the last Dragonborn becomes High King of Skyrim. Look at Talos, he ruled all Tamriel and he is Dragonborn. For better or for worse. Most of the Emperors of the Empire has dragon's blood, willing to rule and dominate because it's in their nature till the last one died during the Oblivion crisis. Not saying you'll become bad, I mean look at Talos. Even the will to dominate and rule, he wanted to unite all Tamriel as one for a good thing. Not all dragons are bad and yet the Blades stupidity wants to kill them all and for what? They be no better then the damn Thalmor! If the Blades knew this, they eventually will kill you after you done all the dirty work for them.

@afan32583 жыл бұрын
To me, that was Odahviing hearing Paarthurnax and agreeing with him. Odahviing only obeys the Dragonborn because we beat the shit out of him and proved that we could do it again. He listens out of self preservation, not loyalty. If he were ever to gain the strength to challenge the Dragonborn, he would no longer have a reason to obey. Which is why it'd be wise not to trust him. Wise not to trust a dovah. But for now, and for any time in the near future, that doesnt seem likely to happen which is why you shouldn't mistrust one either. Because that leaves an opening for growth, for power. Odahviing is not Paarthurnax, he still embraces his will to dominate, and is able to achieve it through serving the Dragonborn, or fighting them.
