It would have been so cool if Bethesda had made the Vigilants like that. It makes sense that they would want to take the Daedric artifacts, and being able to walk by them in full Daedric armour wielding Dawnbreaker, the Wabbajack, wearing the ring of Hircine, and having a Daedra follower summoned up by Sanguines Rose walking beside you, and have them say nothing makes no sense. Them being agressive about your lovely demonic items and trying to take them from you would have been very interesting, and given the Vigilants more of a purpose in the game.

I have no way of telling this, but I have a hunch that there was more to the Silver Hand that meets the eye too. They quite often carry books called "Songs of the return" which are stories of the original 500 companions. Also... why are they taking pieces of Wuuthard? What if they're renegade companions who refused the gift/curse of lycanthropy and want to restore the former glory of the companions? Just today I was attacked by some Silver Hand members near Falkreath. There was a note with their leader saying that they're avenging their slain friends/families. I felt quite shitty after that. There should have been an alternate questline for the companions, where you work for the Silver Hand. Maybe as an inner spy or as one of their member to murder the companions or expose them as warewolves. At the end of that questline, finding Kodlak's journal would trigger the quest to help him get to Sovngarde, he deserved it. There could have been some quest for the vigilants, but we now have the mod called Vigilant so that's kinda fixed.

Both are not compelling, i don't like being a vampire either, and carrying witch heads to cure lycantrophy don't sound good. What i don't like is, they make The Companions as good guys while Silver Hands evil with no reason. They will attack the player as bandit faction.

yeah but at the time it was too big of a file for 360 and ps3. i mean the game freezes at least once or twice a day for most console players, simply because the loading is too much for the game. so thats why some extras were deleted

I guess they removed the feature of Stendarr Vigilants seeking your deadric items because they didn't wanted players to feel rewarded for completing those quests and then having them taken away a while later. It would feel like the game was only LENDING you those items and then it says: "Okay you've had your fun, now give it back"

Yeah, then there's the Dawnguard DLC where it gets wrecked. I bet they cut it because it would mean you couldn't get it anymore after level 10 (which is when you're likely to have been getting up on your toes enough to do a Daedric Quest)

I had completely forgotten about the missing apprentices quest, but I can say that it was at one time doable. I remember I got the quest once way back in the day. I was playing the original skyrim release on the PS3, (note: not the legendary edition or with any dlc.) and I acquired this quest. I also did not have any internet access so I got none of the skyrim updates. I had forgotten the quest cause I only had the normal version for about a week, before I traded it in for a Legendary editon version with all the dlc and never got the quest again. I didn't even remember the quest until I saw this video and remebered having to go collect the apprentices items from them.

Oh! See I thought that because the Conjuration professor talking about his missing apprentices, I always thought they were ones who originally tried summoning the daedric lord in the Midden underneath the College. The rings are in the library in a locked chest and you can start the quest by finding the gauntlet in the middle of a conjuration circle with sigil around it. On a table nearby is a journal and skeletons. I thought those skeletons were the missing apprentices. Sidenote: I also connected this area with why the College is so against necromancy magic

you can get the missing apprentices quest by finding a note talking about the apprentices being missing and then talking to someone (not sure who but it's written at the bottom of the note) and that will start the quest but i haven't been able to finish it for some reason, but this could be to do with my game, becuase I have noticed that I have college guards in the college of winterhold, which is also cut content edit: oh shit nvm i have cutting room floor

Actually, no. Not all of them. The girl practising fire cloaks spells, her burnt body can be found out on the ice in a still burning circle she is equipped with a unique necklace. The one practising illusion spells, dies. The skeevers can still be found at the location, as can a spell book, an apothecary sachet & a scroll, but the apprentices body doesn’t always spawn in. The twins were supposed to be found alive but hurt, their frost chilled mead experiment having been successful. Curiously it was supposed to be something you could help them introduce into the market as a legitimate mead brand. A named dagger & a levelled bandit can be found where you would have found the injured twins, One half frozen, temporarily paralyzed but alive. & one still fighting this bandit & apparently losing the fight. Shame it wasn’t left in. I liked the premise.

That Vigilant of Stendarr stuff is cut because their headquarters will be destroyed during Dawnguard DLC Questline, which then make the safe impossible to loot because the doors leading to interior cell of HQ will disappear and making it inaccessible.

I think the Vigilant thing was cut because it would be very limiting. You couldn't really do any of the Daedra quests while still being a good guy, because you would either have to murder or steal constantly to keep the reward.

Guys, if you haven't gotten it already, get the Cutting Room Floor mod, it adds most of the cut content that was mentioned in these videos (though it doesn't add major cut content, like that Civil War expansion) I'm not sure which ones exactly, because I haven't found most of them yet (started a new char after a very long break).

Another thing the cutting room floor added was Aela being your Shield Sibling going to Dustman's Carin with specific voiced dialogue representing the "new" choice. Only hiccup is, when you go to slay Kodlak's wolf spirit, Farkas will talk like he's the one who went to Dustman's Carin, right before you and Aela go through the spider room.

Wow, i Would of loved the cut Spiders, they would of made fine addition to my pets, i especially love the ideas of Pack Spiders, the Ghost sounds like it would of been a nice Easter egg, and in truth the content with the Vigilant's, while it would make much more sense in game for them to do that, it would also give my character more reason to kill them when ever given the chance. . . what i like playing as Werewolf or Vampire. Also the Cut mage quest could of been nice, maybe it even could of been used to expand the length of the Collage Quest line.

I did always find it weird that they really don’t seem to care too much when I was waltzing around in a literal full face mask I got from a Daedra and was carrying like 3 different daedric weapons at once.

The vigilants taking your stuff was probably removed because of the Hall getting destroyed by vampires in the Dawnguard dlc. No Hall means there's nowhere for you to go get your stuff back.

For the last one concerning the chest containing any held Daedric artifacts... it depends on if development on Dawnguard began before release of the vanilla game (by development, I mean *ANY* progress on lore, sequence events, etc.) because the Hall of Vigilant is destroyed almost immediately in the game. As soon as Dawnguard begins (as early as level 5 if a guard mentions them) up to 10 (where vampires begin attacking and Durak seeks you out to join up). If the Vigil is destroyed, the interior of the hall is completely removed, and it would require interesting coding to move a containiner within one cell to that of the open world while retaining all items within. Doable, but interesting, and as we've seen, clearly outside of Bethesda's scope.

I can see why they never finished the Vigilants. The Hall of the Vigilant is critical for getting your Daedric items back if you handed them over, and the Hall is destroyed by Vampires in the Dawnguard DLC. They likely quit working on the Vigilants when they realized the faction was going to be crippled in the DLC.

With the Skyrim Special Edition there is virtually no way of ever seeing the Hall of the Vigilants intact without mods, since you will very likely get to Level 10 before you even reach the Hall. Level 10 is of course when Dawnguard starts and the Hall is destroyed.

You know, the stendarr thing could've been an interesting method of showcasing your daedric artifacts. Instead of placing them in the vault, they could've put them on stand and what not. Similar in appearance and display as the shrines in solitude I'd imagine. Oh, and an agent of stendarr wouldn't have to come up to you, you could just walk right into there building and give them to a npc, place them on the stand, or join the agents of stendarr yourself from there. If an agent of stendarr does approach you, you have the dialogue options similar to the companions or the soldiers approach I'd imagine.

I think they could revisit Skyrim as a new game, maybe in a different time zone, basically change the story NPCs encounters etc but save themselves the time and effort of building the land. Kind of like a movie sequel that already has all the props and sets.

I feelnlike i delt with some of these, (headless ghost fight for messing with the skull for example) but i dont remember getting the cut content mod but i did get the unofficial patch.

If your on pc there’s a mod to add some if not all of this content back into skyrim which is great if your new or returning player as new little events really breath new air into a game you’d played many times before

Pack spiders and glowing spiders ARE in the Dragonborn DLC... In game and usable according to camelworks guide on all of the versions of them in-game and usable... No mention is ever made of cut versions of any albino spiders...
