I think a good justification for doing the main quest , Dawnguard and Dragonborn quests is this: You become a "hero" to them though you only do it for the gold and prestige Plus them being happy and kinder towards you makes it easier to rob em blind later If they think you're a decent guy and are friendly towards you you can steal from them much easier

Hugo grave I was sneaking with ancient shrouded and nightingale armor until I got alchemy/smithing/enchanting way up there. Since then I've been tanking everything in legendary with atronach stone+perk as a vamp with necromage. OP but very fun to pretty much single shot everything smaller than a frost troll or a dragon :p

I recently started playing this build but with a twist. I made him an assassin, speccing into all the sneak perks and some one handed to help with backstabs, still maxing illusion spells to make kills look "accidental" with a well placed frenzy spell. It was only after being betrayed by the dark brotherhood and finishes the storyline he realises the mistakes he's made and becomes the shadowfoot.. A master thief and leader of the thieves guild by night and humble student at the college of winter hold to further his illusion knowledge by day. I dunno, just added more of a story and complexity to the build for me and it justified pacifying a bandit leader and slitting his throat after he murdered all his allies 😅

hey y'all! I've been playing this build a lot lately and here are some additional things that have helped me and i recommend doing: -Alteration. Paralyze has been particularly useful. also telekinesis, detect life/dead, and water breathing have their uses when you're stealing your goodies. -Conjuration or conjuration staff. I've been using the sanguine rose. It's great for when you're doing a quest where you HAVE to kill someone and there's no one to hit with a fury or frenzy spell. This way YOU aren't the actual one doing the killing. loophole. I'm thinking I'll probably switch to the Ash Guardian spell once I'm ready to get my conjuration, just because my character has a strong connection to his homeland and culture. -probably destruction at some point. I've just been using staves or scrolls when I'm forced to kill someone, but soon I'll probably be leveling it just because i wanna do the main story and obviously you gotta kill some fools, but ofc it's gonna be your last resort. -My character also steals all the sweetrolls he can. just for fun, since this build focuses a lot on stealing just for the sport. This build has been an absolute blast and doesn't max out for a LONG time. I'm already at lvl 40 and still got a ways to go before all of my skills are finished!

Yea but anything atronachs kill counts to your kill count. Unless you go the technical route which is what I'm gonna do. Sounds hard early on but damn when I'm able to cast dead thrall and atronach thrall. Oooooooh baby. I'm getting whet with excitement. And I'm a dude. (I think)

Ik ik i just said that cause i thought it was funny but really i dont know for dragons i guess you could somehow get other npcs to kill it with frenzy not sure how that would work and i dont think you can pacify them and for bosses depends on which ones i think you can probably loot some not a skyrim expert i usually just use swords and shields.

I made something similar to this build. She’s an Imperial (for the useful racial powers) and is a pacifistic illusionist thief who takes from the rich and powerful and gives to the poor and needy. Uses a combination of sneak, illusion, pickpocket, and speech to get into and out of trouble. Overall, a very unique and fun way to play the game!

If you ever get coughed pickpocketing a target, use Harmony and you can pickpocket the target again. Harmony is the only illusion spell that makes this work.

Do a death knight build! Dark elf using two handed, conjuration, heavy armour and frost magic. He would also be a vampire, reanimating two thrall corpses at all times and travelling with serana, a death hound and arvaak. Ebony armour with no helmet, with long white hair. Dark elf is not necessary, any non-beast race with pale skin (preferably) would work, maybe breton. Edit: or one handed and enchanting, with an ancient nord sword enchanted with frost and drain life, and frost in his left hand.

I feel like this thief could end up a Thane in at least 3 holds with ease. The Rift, especially since that lets him get Honeyside. Whiterun, if you find a way to make yourself the Dragonborn while being in character still. And The Reach. That last one is actually from experience of playing a similar character. Basically a thief who also did Assassin work. Major in Illusions like this build. Pretty much would calm foes then stab them as needed. But the best part was the Briarhearts. If no one knows, you can pickpocket their “heart” and kill them instantly, which was a tactic I used often. The real trouble is the Hagravens when you have to get the shield, but a few calm spells to keep them distracted while you get the shield and word wall were enough to get away. Sadly had to ditch trying to kill them and instead bolted off the high dive. And no, a follower didn’t help. Took about 10 attempts. Numbers 7-10 were solo, and I got further in those than with a sneaky husband (it was Ghorbash if anyone was wondering. Light armor and such. He kept getting pinned cuz of ice magic and the fact that I couldn’t calm all the forsworn fast enough.)

My Build: Raza The Puppeteer (Illusionist Alchemist Archer Build) Race: Raza is a Khajiit Cathay, giving him 22 unarmed damage and the ability to see in the Dark for 60 Seconds. Backstory: Raza was born in Valenwood, where he was raised as a Hunter. On his hunting trips, Raza would collect ingredients and brew potions at his father's Alchemy Lab. One day, Raza began creating poisons. To test his poison, he made Poison Apples and gave His Father and Mother one of them. His Father and Mother died. Raza smiled. The Guards were suspicious of Raza being the Murderer, but Raza casted Illusion Spells to clear their suspicions. It was decided that Raza would be raised in an orphanage in the Imperial City. The Puppeteer escaped the Orphanage, and lived in a shack that once belonged to Sinderion, a powerful Altmer Alchemist. He heard Rumors of the Crimson Nirnroot in the Dwarven Ruins of Skyrim and attempted to cross the Border, only to be captured by Imperials and carted off to Helgen. After Helgen: Raza will join every Possible Guild. For Civil War Factions, he will join the Stormcloaks, as he will become an Enemy of the Empire sooner or Later when he assassinates Emperor Titus Mede II. He will choose to join the Dawnguard, as he would prefer to not be shunned by the People of Skyrim. He will save Solstheim from Miraak to improve his reputation. Perks: Everything in the Archery, Illusion, Alchemy, and Light Armor. This build made me think of some sort of "support" build, you don't like killing and you don't actually kill anyone. You make others do the dirty work for you. Get some good companions, max illusion and spam rally and heal on your trusty meat shields. Sounds like an idea you'd work with

I have a better armor idea for the Shadowfoot. There is a mod on Xbox one that let's you create black armor of the Dawnguard, Elves, Nordic, and Theives guild armor. The black Theives guild armor is sleeveless. It would fit perfectly with this build and you can enchant it the way you want to. I am trying to remember the name of the mod.

Could try it with a nord for battle cry. Get the shadow stone for an early second emergency escape. Focus on sneak and alchemy to make invisibility potions. Then you can redirect those magicka points and have a stable job. :)

I never really understand when people go for lockpicking perks. Even Master and Expert never take more than 3-8 lockpicks at most. Or you could just get the skull key.

These builds are always nice, generally I haven't used vanilla Skyrim since 2011. I always have a perk overhaul installed (usually Ordinator) I'm currently rolling a Dwemer mechanist scholar type, but I would like a good monk/alchemist build. Most of the restoration perks in Ordinator seem better suited to a paladin build than a monk.

why would you bother with scrolls? just get your hands on a staff to summon an atronach. you can find or buy soulgems often enough to recharge them and the staffs can be created at the atronach forge
