The voice actor for him is Michael Gough. He also voices Jarl Balgruuf, Falk Firebeard, Brunwulf Free-Winter, Ralof, Vekel the Man, Viper the Fleet and several others. The Michael Gough who died in 2011 was a much older actor and some might remember him as Alfred from Batman.

Actually you're mixing your Michaels :). Michael J Gough is the VA that did Vilkas and several other characters in skyrim. He also did the voice of Deckard Cain in the Diablo games. He's still alive. Francis Michael Gough was the actor who played Alfred in the 1989 Batman. Who did, indeed, pass away in 2011.

Okay so here's the thing, adding my fan-made comment to this, Vilkas is like this character you discover about him through out the story, from the beginning of the Companion quest, you see his withdrawal of not knowing you, then as the quest-line progresses there is a change in his view about things, like gold feeding his blade to the upholding the honor of the Nords. Till you finish the questline and see his emotional change, and admitting it. This is what made me choose Vilkas over Farkas, there is just more emotion to the story, than with Farkas, who really isn't just intellegent enough to give that openness and clear admitting to what he feels throughout the questline.

When I first met Vilkas on my imperial account (first one) and he insulted my dovahkiin, she did everything in her power to get that man to notice her. Now they are married, have two kids named Lucia and Samual, and live out in the wilderness.

What blows me away is that Michael Gough also voiced Deckard Cain in the Diablo series. Now, I played D2 for four years and *never* made the connection. I still can't get over that my in-game hubby is the same voice actor who told me what a treasure I had in this here Horadric Cube for so many years. At any rate, whenever Vilkas talks, I make a point to stay a while and listen.

Well you could call yourself lucky then! I only have the german version, with no way to make the audio english (ps3) and there are about...4-5 voice actors for ALL the men in Skyrim. And Vilkas has the same voice as Ralof, Jarl Balgruuf, that smith in Riverwood, some enemies and many, many more Dx .....he sounds like an old man...
