For the play through it would be cool to see a sneak oriented character build, maybe employing some magic or unique powers. I want to to transition to ESO but I want to get a feel for what that play style may be like
@zackvoltran26844 жыл бұрын
Speaking as a player with over 600 hours in the game, who started out going solo sneaky-beaky like, it isn't even remotely worth it. There is some way to do this, sure, but don't expect it to feel rewarding. Now this could have changed sine I stopped playing 6 months ago, but I doubt it. It is an MMO, meaning lots of weak enemy fodder, making stealth not very viable. I could never manage to really kill off a group one at a time, even stealth ranged. Besides, against such enemies, it is easier, faster, and less of a resource drain to just go full murder hobo. I always played Skyrim as a stealth character, but couldn't get it to work well in ESO, let alone feel good. While I was able to have a lot of fun playing a stamina based "rogue", effectively, and compete with the end game content better than most, there really wasn't much (well, any) space for stealth in the multiplayer game-play design besides burst in pvp from effectively invisibility effects. As for running solo, that is what I started out doing, again, for stealth. You can be careful, take your time, but there isn't the huge damage multipliers from stealth, so execution isn't really a thing like it was in Skyrim, so there is almost zero benefit of sneaking up, even for bosses. There are a few spells that use attacking from stealth as a mechanic, invisibility, ect, but most bosses are immune to the useful effects of those clauses, and it doesn't do anything useful against weaker enemies and is pointless in groups of enemies. Long story short, if you want a stealth game, ESO isn't it. There is some cool things to play with, but none of them end up being worth the investment.

feel like some of the areas in ESO look better. However, there are many areas I definitely think Skyrim has much more detail in, mostly inside buildings. There seems to be more clutter. The lighting feels better in with a dark and grittier tone. ESO just feels too mate in its lighting with not enough shadows if that makes any sense.. but I also understand being an MMO game that most people are not going to have ballin PCs and internet playing this, so I guess that makes sense they would have to cut some corners.

It's convenient to give us eastmarch and the rift in the base game. Now you can explore Solitude, Morthal, Falkreath and Markarth as well. They cleverly left out Dawnstar and Winterhold out because Dawnstar is eastern Skyrim so it can't be included in the western Skyrim expansion and to add it in base game they'd have to add in Winterhold as well which would take a lot of work getting done to appear as the flourishing city it was before the great collapse. Bustling, i think most will agree, is when u walk in, u expect to sell most of the goods u've collected throughout missions, that doesn't hinder up ur carry weight. i went to Dragonsbridge the other day to sell all my, nearly over encumbered weight, & was disapointed to had to go all the way to Markarth

And my husband rushed to preorder us all Greymore immediately. I hope you will consider playing a Nord who uses a 2 Handed weapon. I hear 2 handed will be the big new thing besides vampires and werewolves, although the step from big hairy Nord to werewolf would be a small one. No matter what you play I'll be sure to watch it.

Great video I’ve played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim for years and honestly love ESO’s questing. After I unsubbed from WoW, I don’t think I’m ever going back lol. Every quest in this game is voiced, and not clunkily like SWTOR. Also it’s way more affordable to enjoy than most MMORPGs if you know what you’re doing you can enjoy the game without ever paying for a sub. MMO players are a fickle bunch you can never please everyone, but in terms of content delivery ZoS is unmatched. I feel bad for WoW players in their yearly content drought that doesn’t end until November and Blizzard still has the audacity to make them pay $15 a month to play no new content.
@mistere58574 жыл бұрын
"Enjoy the game without ever paying a sub". Maybe if you pigeon hole each of your characters. There's no way you can have a completionist character without access to the crafting bag.
@JH-zs6vh4 жыл бұрын
Mister E There is a way to be a completionist without buying a subscription, it might not fit the instant gratification zoomer mentality of many mmo players but you can still store extra crafting materials, sets and things you collect in storage containers in your house. The crafting bag isn’t that needed if you’re not picking flowers and mining all day, even then you can still store extra materials in their corresponding containers. It takes a little more effort, and if you aren’t used to Skyrim or other rpg styles of looting it’s not that bad.
@mistere58574 жыл бұрын
@@JH-zs6vh storage containers require tel var or writ vouchers to purchase. You get one for free. Is it doable sure...but dont kid anybody, it is a nightmare without the sub (we're talking years of investment) and I'm a Skyrim and MMO person.
@JH-zs6vh4 жыл бұрын
Mister E MMORPGs are years of investment, in general you don’t have an infinite crafting bag available to you in major mmorpgs like In WoW so you learn to make do. We aren’t playing candycrush If you’ve ever played retail wow or classic you don’t get any of these extra perks or storage containers, you just get your bank and maybe your guild bank. Now in terms of telvar stones and purchasing more containers for your house you can port to for free from anywhere, Imperial City is now free with the base game so if someone wants to get those containers they can. To be honest even without a sub managing crafting materials isn’t that bad. If you get in the zone of refining materials and crafting goods to put either in storage or on the marketplace, going back to your house to deposit some extra materials isn’t that bad. In any MMO you have to go back and forth, in ESO it’s just easier because you can teleport everywhere and its a faster travel time than traditional MMOs. Even without the sub you get around faster than you would flying around on a mount in another game so the downtime between crafting and storing materials is less of a hassle than a traditional MMO.
@JH-zs6vh4 жыл бұрын
And if someone wanted to spend that $15 for one month, gather hundreds of runes and ores, the minute they stop paying they can get everything they put in the bag out or keep all of what they gathered in the bag if they don’t have space at the moment. In a subscription based game like WoW, you aren’t even able to access your character unless you fork over $15. The same people who complain about there being an infinite crafting bag and how ZoS have made their world turn upside down over a few nerfs have never played other MMOs beside ESO. The grind for current endgame gear in retail would melt your brain compared to having to change between a few sets in ESO because of devs nerfing a set piece bonus. You have not experienced pay to win until you’ve encountered BiS bind on equip raid gear that can be purchased with cash from store tokens in a game you are already paying $15 a month for, along with purchasable level boosts (the current state of WoW). Enough of my rant, back to yours, it’s not nearly as bad a grind without the crafting bag as most, if not all MMORPGs.

Love your videos, been watching them for long, I think this is the first time I comment on one tho. Please don't take this the wrong way. This was more like a city comparison than a "gameplay". I was expecting more like what the gameplay mechanics difference are between both games like MMOs VS Single player or fighting in skyrim vs managing cooldowns in ESO. I've never played ESO but was thinking on getting it, would love to watch a video of you explaining that kind of differences like grinding, fighting, questing, pvp, exploration, etc. Hopefully you read this comment 😅. Stay safe!
@Smaxx4 жыл бұрын
It's really hard to explain, I guess it's best to experience it yourself and judge yourself. Combat is a bit different and there are no hit boxes on enemies (i.e. you can't head shot them), but also there's no real cooldown system in the classic MMO terms. You can spam any skill you want. The challenge is managing your resources rather than your cooldowns. Only exception are ultimate abilities, stronger, more powerful skills, where you have to build up points to use them, a bit like shouts in Skyrim.
@tazzeightsixfour97214 жыл бұрын
Managing cooldowns?? There are no cooldowns in ESO.... Your ability to use an attack is related to your ability to manage resources....

Big problem when you have a game that costs money, charges money for expansions, and then also charges money with in-app purchases. Most games who do IAP at least have the base game f2p, crummy practices to never reduce costs but only ramp it up.

Couldn't agree more. Betheseda/Zenimax are truly falling from grace and I don't think they're gonna come back any time soon... if ever
@TheBlakamon154 жыл бұрын
Disagree. I think people need to realise that if the practice is scummy then you need say it is scummy for free 2 play games as well. The old saying well they have to make some money some how argument can be said about any game. Just because it is free2play should not be exempt. Example their free2play MMO out there that will screw you more out of money than this game at least this game comes out with content consistently.
@JH-zs6vh4 жыл бұрын
It’s alot better than something like WoW which makes you pay $15 a month just play it and on top of that they’re in a content drought with WoW until early November because they cancelled their next patch before shadowlands. Atleast when you buy ESO you can play the content you bought online anytime you want without a sub fee, the subscription is optional if you want the extra perks, there are no paid automatic level boosters like WoW has nor are there any ways to purchase gold directly with crowns through ZoS. Meanwhile in WoW there are gold tokens that break the economy of the game and make rich people pay to get gold for better gear and mounts (even if it is inefficient). Also in terms of content delivery ESO is way more on top of it than Blizzard and most major MMORPGs.

Wasn't the Wolf Banner of Solitude from Potemas Reign during the Third Era? The wolf head was a depiction of her loyal Wolf Pet (forgot his name), kinda weird that they kept it in ESO despite that Potemas wasn't even born yet.

Thing I want people to realize is not every town looks like how they really wanted to design it as, cause of engine issues and things like that like alot of towns should've been bigger than what they were. Oblivion also has the same thing like how the imperial city should be bigger than it is but time constraints and engine limitations prevented them from fully realizing it. So it does make sense if they do change certain towns and locations you might have seen from previous game in size to make them like how they actually wanted them to be in the first place. The better cities mod for oblivion is a prefect example of this and also the people recreating oblivion in skyrim engine.
