We needed a few necessities but also some wants to put back in the freezer for those times when I don't want to cook. So lets check some prices on some of your favorite things too.

Hello Mr. Tom you bet food prices are going up. We have to keep looking for sales and do our best . I have been watching things on the great depression and remember some of the stories in my family ,honestly we've been a bit spoiled to say the least. We have to try and eat more in season , grow a few things, preserve , eat our leftovers not be so picky, shop the sales as they come along and we can make it!

I shop at Kroger and buy Kroger brand as much as possible. I have been a vegetarian for 50plus years..fresh vegetables and fruits cost the most . Except for pet food . Dog food, catford, and bird seed get me every month. But the chickens do eat vegetables and fruits too ,so I have zero waste. Still the price gouging is a Crime as far as I am concerned. The farmers aren't getting that money for sure.I have noticed that your store is higher than my Kroger in Texas Produce ,a lot of it ,comes from "The Valley " so we have more choices for less than other parts of the country.

There is a list of the top 10 things one should buy organic because otherwise they have the most pesticides, etc. Just Google it. Glad I can still grow a decent garden with my health issues too. Don't need to plant all at once since they require different temps. Many things I just eat when out of the yard. No real use for bell peppers but salads in the summer and make stuffed bell peppers then too. Freeze some if I get a lot. Make them up first. Can and dehydrate things like the Energizer zucchini which keeps going and going. I like winter squash. Just store it in a cool room and lasts. Hope to get starts from last years sweet potatoes I grew. I get volunteer potatoes that are tiny and make it through frigid temps in winter plus save seed potatoes. Too bad I can't grow cows from a seed😂. Dread shopping Saturday. I want in and out fast. Good prices on your meat there. I was sure surprised with my Chewy order. At our Aldi store we paid $1.29 for a large loaf of bread and butter was $2.99 for a pound. Aldi prices are going up also but not as bad as some of the bigger stores. When I buy a large package of the sandwich meats like you got I divide it up and freeze it in smaller portions. Usually works out to about 10 slices of meat per package. Helps it keep longer that way.

Ours have not changed much. Chicken has gone down some but eggs have gone up for the winter as they usually do. They will come down around Easter and be down until late in the fall. potatoes and onions have been cheaper here too. Most things have stayed about the same. Bacon has been about $4.80 for 16 ounces in the great value brand. Your pork steaks and chops are cheaper than here. Your ground chuck is cheaper, also. Since there is just the two of us now we really don’t eat that much meat anymore. I freeze bags of flour in the deep freezer. I cook and bake from scratch so I like to have plenty of flour, sugar and other baking items on hand. I freeze extra cornmeal, too. Have a great weekend.😊😊😊

It actually saves me money because our gas prices are the highest in the country. It was shocked the other day when I saw a seedless watermelon for over $8.50 and a single tomato for $2.83. Hey, Mr. Tom! We've got another rainy day here in Marianna. I'm fixin' to go let the chickens out and feed the cats after I finish watching this video. Our internet is still wonky, and this seems to be one of the best times to watch videos to avoid all the buffering. I hear you about the bagels. It is, however, really easy to make them if you let a bread machine do the donkey work, and they're actually better than the store-bought. Our DGO has been out of Food Club butter for a few weeks now. No worries. It'll be restocked eventually, and if push comes to shove, I can always buy a quart of cream and makes some for about $3.00. Our prices are pretty close with yours, but yours seem to be just a tad higher. Sometimes I like to buy the Swaggerty link sausages, and lately, the fresh ones are $2.87 per package. Yum! You have a blessed day!

People say grocery prices are going down but I do not see it here in Alabama. When my husband and I both worked we had more money then. Now that we are retired it is hard to buy groceries. When you are older with health issues the doctor keeps telling us to lay off processed foods because they are full of sodium so I am trying to cook more. I love to cook but like you there are days I just don't feel like cooking so I do lean toward more frozen items like what you bought today. Foods that are healthy for you tend to cost more. When we both worked I bought organic items and grass fed and finished beef and things I felt like were better for us but we just cannot afford that anymore. We are spending way to much on groceries for just two people so I have made a promise to myself this year to spend less. We both love breakfast so we are trying to eat a good one and then we do not eat again until about 4:00 in the afternoon to save on food. My husband has told me he does not care what we eat we just need to save money so I am all for that. Would love to see some food reviews and things you use to Jazz them up and I love your cooking videos. Keep them coming and pet the kitty crew for me.

I just love it when you and the kitty crew go grocery shopping. Seems your prices in Alabama are just a bit cheaper than here in NC. I like to compare the prices. Thank you for taking the time to shop for us. Love your videos. Read every label, make sure that what you buy doesn’t include “bioengineered products “. Scary what the powers that be are feeding us.

Your prices are a little cheaper than here in Indiana. Just like you I started buying the irregular bacon too and I'm never going back!

Walmart in Southern Indiana has the nine lives for cans in the package. Plastic package are 266. Lots of your prices are a lot cheaper there in the south and the selection is a lot better in your meat section bacon is a lot more than three dollars for 12 ounces.
