A SAFFA here, great game and big improvement, can't wait for an epic clash in 2 weeks. What I saw, no1. You're loose forwards did not give the Argentinian loosies the freedom. As in the first game, therefore more possession. No2. Damian did less on his own, 1st game looked like he wanted to prove himself in the no 10 jersey, and he is better if he just play. No3, you earned the right to go wide, by picking and going and drawing the other side in. No4, when you played out of the back, you went deeper, so that the rush defence can't put you under pressure, also chips over the rush defence, which put them on the back foot. No5, the gameplan was much more simpler, meaning you played what was in front of you and lastly, the tackle completion rate and kicking was better. That is my insight into the game, and makes my mouth water for a hard encounter in 2 weeks, not much to choose between SA and the AB'S.

Question for Brynn 😊. What are your thoughts on Beauden Barrett coming off the bench? I personally think he needs to be on the field for the entire game and be a starter at 10 or 15. However, I have noticed that he is a great observer of the game from the bench and calms down and guides the remaining players on the bench as well (Just like he did against England). ABs can't look to try and outmuscle the Boks. That's a fools errand. They need to work their kicking game, run the big lads around the park, keep them pegged in their own half, move the ball and take the steam out of the contact area. If they try and go through the middle of the park, in some desperate effort at macho self-assertion, they'll get flattened; the AB's loosies don't compare physically to their Bok opposites, if Blackadder plays he'll get manhandled in contact, like he has every time he's cone up against a strong opposition pack, Vaai is too small and too sloppy with his hands, Darry and Williams are raw, Taylor has been going backwards in contact, and Ardie can't do it all by himself. Papalii will tackle all day but so far this year hasn't made an impact on the carry. For whatever reason, NZ rugby (like Australian rugby) isn't producing the kind of forward that can play a purely collision-based tactical game against the best in the world, so they need to use their heads and play smart, rather than try to prove a point by taking them on up front.
@markrutherford60105 ай бұрын

The pack is back on form and the backs on their day are as good as any backline in world rugby. They've got nothing to lose as most pundits have written them off so the pressure is on SA to live up to the high expectations and standards they've set.

Without trying to create click bait like some other NZ rugby shows. My question is with the increase in short arm penalty's with the new laws why are no teams taking a quick tap and passing back for a drop goal attempt? with the other team having to be 10 metres it would decrease your chance of a charge down. Is there any reason why the teams aren't doing this?

Great show👌🏻Going to be interesting how they go when they go up against the best team on the planet in 2 weeks time🙂 And if like in 2022, Rassie wins the first game again convincingly, will he then make a few subs for the 2nd game. Going to be interesting🙂

You guys are so much better than jk and team. They have been out of the locker room too long. Doesnt look like they are in touch with the modern game and looking like panic set in as soon as they see other teams become competitive

A fine performance in the 1st half, from the ABs but they fell away in the 2nd half -plenty to work on yet, but loved seeing that intent

Question : what do you guys think of a 6:2 split for the bench so we can replace the whole tight 5 in the second half to counter the Bomb Squad ?
@atapene5 ай бұрын
Hi guys. DOUBLE BOMB SQUADS? Looking at Tamaiti, Ofa, Asafo, Wallace, Darry..... in the first test against SA, will Razor be telling his bench to be warmed up ready to enter the test 10mins into the second half, so if we see Rassie dumping 5 SA forwards onto the pitch before a scrum, Razor can do the same and we might see 2 bomb squads enter at once? Would remove the psychological advantage of having such a group come on that SA have been using. The SA bench are amazing but guys like Tamaiti and Asafo, Cane, can offer similar impact against Marx and the SA bench. Also... I just want to see 10 fresh guys come on at once and what a war would happen over that next 5 mins. Cheers!!

Not sure about Argentina but South Africa is not great in wet conditions, they are not used to it. New Zealand has to be the best in those conditions. Either way, Argentina is either super good or super bad.

It would be foolish of the Springboks to get over confident and underestimate the All Blacks. They were and will always be a class act to be taken very seriously at ALL times. Yes the Boks are looking very good but we have a way to go still. It will be very nice to see the AB's in SA again with the prospect of a great test. May the best team win.

It is encouraging but at the same time frustrating that the Boks fluffed two sure tries in the first half with all those changes. Encouraging becaue the made ten entries with the new squad, but frustrating that due to unforced errors they didn't break away on the score board by halftime.

Boet, we had 334 caps in total in that starting lineup, with PSDT and Jesse Kriel making up 160 (48%) of them, in torrential downpour away from home. We could have scored those tries and probably should have, but I am prepared to cut a little slack under the circumstances.

The worst thing that ever happened to NZ rugby was that third World Cup win in 2015; the coaches and the team have seemingly never been as hungry, never been as driven, and never quite as sharp aftet that time. Like Mickey says in Rocky III "you aint been hungry since you won that belt". Its the curse of sustained success: you forget how you got there, and everyone else starts coming after you.
@jacques689865 ай бұрын
I think the AB and Boks lacks consistency but that is the nature of todays game. This tells me that the 2 upcoming tests in SA won't be that close and probably end up boks winning the 1st and AB the 2nd....thats my gut feeling
@murrayjohn86085 ай бұрын
So this is a Sky show, doesn't that mean with a bit of extra work you could show clips that illustrate what you are talking about? it's a great show. We'll find out how good this AB team is when the forwards have to play 80-minutes with the Boks. Couldn't live with the Pumas in Game 1, so it all remains to be seen ... that's the joy of it all.

Sit on the fence? WTF man the Springboks will beat them in both tests mate both. How can you sit on the fence after a performance from them v Argentins second test? See how the ran through a sleeping Argies teams defence. The Argies never turned up was fast asleep and on that you sit on the fence? Ok you underestimate this Springboks team at your own peril mate.

Great first half but very far from a complete performance. Failure to score in the last 38 mins is a real concern. The ABs lost shape and structure once DMac was replaced by BB at 10, and the bench players failed to make the impact needed, instead the team lost fluency with all the changes. Late in the game a couple of good chances to score while deep in the Argentinian 22 were again fluffed, thankfully unlike last week, the result was not in the balance. With two very hard away games to come against South Africa the ABs will need to turn the strong 45 mins they achieved tonight into a full 80 min performance, because the Boks will provide an epic challenge for the full 80. Scoring chances in the final 10 min must be ruthlessly taken, because as the history of AB v Boks games shows, scores in the last 10 minutes often decide the match.
@tcr45075 ай бұрын
I found it interesting that most of the bench guys we brought on were chiefs players (ratima at 9, ALB at 13, Cane at 7 and lord in the locks), all guys that would’ve had massive cohesion levels with Dmac. That left beaudy and Jordan running plays with a spine they’re not necessarily used to (not compared to damo anyway).
@benrobinson3755 ай бұрын
Yeah the All Blacks were nearly flawless in the first half and then faded in the second. In both Argentina games the bench weren't helping us.

Australia didn’t let them use the driving maul in the first half , I disagree with that South Africa didn’t opt to use the rolling mall in the first half .

From south Africa i think the game in Cape town will be INSANE , as a boy i remember the All blacks having a great record in newlands as well as the crusaders, they have lots of support from the people in the western cape, i think now that the bokd are champ champs it may be a bit different but ive always heard that newlands (cape town) was allblacks home 😅😂 remembering the allblacks training at charles morkel stadium. I think it will be 1 all. But im hoping the all blacks take the L, super rugby is not up to standard anymore and we need to show that with our level of play on the national level,
@geotruthnz70135 ай бұрын
Super Rugby is still pretty good, the 4 top NZ sides could probably make quarter finals at an international world cup and the oz sides on their day can topple them. Who knows how good your teams are since they have taken off to play against weaker Rugby nations.
@mzanziman91505 ай бұрын
@geotruthnz7013 lol i think you are mistaken, wales vs fiji? Scotland vs samoa who wins. I also dont wana say any team is better than others but our competition is insane with European teams and were both getting better for it because of all the different styles, nz fiji samoa tonga auz japan have very similar players and play styles

I'm a SAFFA and I dont even know, one thing about a Bok/All Black brawl is that form counts for nothing its a SH derby that goes to whoever wants it most on the day. We have so much quality that we never know who will make match day and sometimes our faves are even left out. I guess that the 1 downside of having depth

Lads you are missing something very important about the Aus vs Boks like you said about the All Blacks and that's the bad weather. South Africa is going to be dry if the SA defence is on point and the scrums work early it's going to be a long day. Remember another thing the rucks and discipline are going to be key places and if New Zealand don't front up there too the discipline will go out the window and it will be Twickenham all over again

Just remember, the Boks butchered 3 try opportunities in the 1st half. The Boks should've had at least 15 more points at half time, which would have made the score 9-26. The weather was horrendous. I can't see the ABs beat this current Boks team, especially in SA.
