Ten years ago Argentina could only dreamt of playing lke these, but they learnt a lot cause of the competition with tier 1 teams. They change the way they play, they changed the way their players train and they were so clever to never give up even when they take a lot of critics in their own country, the most used terminology to criticize them was "the dignity loss" referring to played always a good game but always losing at the end. But they knew that even losing they were learning, match after match, until some day the most important change took place, thay started to believe it was possible, and then Argentina was a whole new beast, now they have the players, the knowledge, the experience, and they believe in them. Argentina is now a world class rugby nation, of course AB are legends, as SA, Australia, England, Ireland, but what Argentina did in just one decade is really nothing short but awesome.

I love this podcast, too. As a Springbok supporter and a total rugby lover, I fully support the views of this podcast and the analysis is so unbiased, professional and thorough. Also very informed. These blokes certainly do their homework and have huge rugby experience and expertise. Congratulations guys!! I think NZ All Blacks will correct their "short comings" during last week's game and will be a different team next Saturday. But they will not under-estimate the Argentinian Pumas (again).

After decades of getting my hopes up and then getting dissapointed. I dare say, the way it's going right now Dr Rassie could quite possibly be the first coach to take 3 RWC back to back. The way he continues to innovate, the appointments he makes in terms of support and coaching staff is just the stuff of legend. I was very worried when we lost Felix and Nienies but then Dr Rassie goes hold my beer and appoints someone like Brown and it's like the boks have levelled up. Things are looking so good right now for us, our attack is improving game to game, our defence has been solid since 2019 and our depth in all of the positions are insane we easy have 4 players in each position that could step up on the day and there wouldn't be a significant drop in quality of the team. Please don't wake me up, I am loving this.🎉

I always believe the term “we lost it, they did not win it” is not only unfair but disrespectful to the winning team. You can always find reasons on why you lost and therefore claim that you lost the game but you forget that the other team put you under pressure to make those mistakes. Argentina were the better team period, the All Blacks will improve.

SA persepctive here.... This is a good show, enjoyed very much. You guys make more sense for the most part than that other show. The problem is, there is no 1 problem, so let me try and elaborate. 2023 world cup NZ and their fans were being written off, harsh and unfair, the ABs still made the final. I'd avoid knee jerk reaction, take the loss and move on. If you guys are looking for scrums to dominate, and gain line dominance and 6/2 split , I feel you are looking at another teams DNA. The team needs a smack against the head and a reminder to be hungrier and step up . They underestimated Argentina and didn't follow the coaches instructions. Why is that even an option? We in SA know all blacks will be back as soon as they gain their edge and fear factor back. I do think the coach is confused snd that shows on the players faces.

To even think you can even play the 15man game at test level without abrasive physicality and mongrel is crazy. Since I got introduced to the All Blacks in 1995, they have always had a few hard physical men with abrasive physicality and a lot of mongrel (e,g Jerry Collens, Brad Thorn, Ali Williams, Jerome Kaino, etc). This changed after 2015. Abrasive physicality and mongrel , together with skill-set, smarts and flair, are all important ingredients that created the most successful test team in history. It seems post 2015 NZ coaches and selectors started to only value the ingredients that made it to the highlight reels.

Completely agree, it’s seems fans down under are only happy with spectacular tries, goal line to goal line, 16 passes total score a try, creating props who are more mobile, good hands to pass but unable to scrum. The reason for the bomb squad is because we had world class props 2/3 for each position. Instead of picking 2 starters and letting the others go play in Europe, Rassie saw the opportunity to have 2 world class front rows to scrum for 80 minutes at a high intensity. Daan Human the forwards coach doesn’t use scrum machines. He uses his to packs against each other. RSA sides had minimal success in Super Rugby but it exposed NZ / AUS teams to the physicality and strength needed by forwards. We have some many unions in RSA that can’t be part of international competitions. So Why doesn’t SANZAR approach SARU to include the Cheetahs, Pumas & EP Kings

They haven't found another Jerome Kaino in a long time. Shannon Frizell left prematurely he was just reaching the level needed for test matches then he was gone. Ethan Blackadder is not the answer he gets man handled and gives away the most ridiculous penalties. Also, the locks are way too small with no attitude I don't understand what they see in Tupou Vaa'i I've never seen him play good at the Chiefs let alone the All Blacks he doesn't have it either.
@austingtir
@austingtir 4 ай бұрын
Blackadder should be playing 7. He's a 7 not a 6 or 8. He offers completely different abilities to the rest of our loosies he offers better facilitation to the back and imo is the best potential lineout loose forward other than S Barrett. He won the key lineout steal that could of kept us in that match then Ardie and co messed it all up and lost us the game with that pass that ended up in the ingoal. He was also key in with carrying in the leadup to the Talea try. If he's used correctly he'll be another McCaw for us but the entire loose forward trio isnt working as a unit atm and the main blame for that needs to go to Ardie he was completely missing in action as a captain on the weekend. If it was my team Id drop Ardie to the bench as an impact player and run Sotutu and Akira Ioane at 6 and 8 with Blackadder at 7. But that horse has already well and truly bolted with Akira in Japan. NZR is letting too many top players go. Akira, Frizzel and Mounga should all be in the squad this year along with Sotutu. They need to allow dispensation to allow certain top players (maybe 5 or 6) to play in japan for big money then come back for the international season.

Savea (Finau and Jacobsen/ Blackadder off the bench). The backs are 10. Barrett 11. Caleb Clarke, 14. Talea or Love 15. Jordan (Ruben Love / Talea and DMac on the bench). We have so many players in RSA and we have unions that only play Currie Cup. Why don’t we approach SANZAR and propose that we enter the Cheetahs, Pumas & EP Kings into Super Rugby, SANZAR must pay these teams a much higher fee than the other teams and bonus payments to the teams that can secure a Springbok in a Super Rugby Team. RSA is basically the centre of world rugby. We can expose our players to northern & southern hemisphere. We must also allow teams to loan players from other competitions. This can help the SR teams in AUS & NZ to get exposure to playing big packs. This will Benifit the talent in SA and SARU must use all the teams to use the pool of players at our disposal

Because it's only his first game of the rugby championship and he's got to rebuild the squad the way he wants to. It's a 4-year cycle ideally you would like to win while also rebuilding but it's not always possible. You're going to have to be patient while razor rebuilds and tries out new Styles. Other teams have obviously developed and changed you have to remember argentina's coach filipe contapomi was the assistant coach in Argentina so they're transition and change hasn't been as drastic. They've kept their core leadership. So they know what they're doing. New Zealand is just after introducing a new head coach, yes Jason Ryan was there last year but razor needs time. Ireland were the same under Andy Farrell. Their first few games were very poor but after one bad Six Nations they become absolutely ruthless. It may take a few games but the abs will get there.

Good dialogue guys. I just think we need to get the right players in the right positions and have the right people starting, with the right people coming off the bench. For how good Beauden is, if he came off the bench in the weekend, we win. He is a next level game closer. Aumua is a starter, he doesn't seem to impact when he finishes, but Codey plays well finishing as well. Cane, Savea, Finau start, the moment Finau hits the wall, get Jacobsen on. It just seems like we need to get the mix right, and it will click.
