The engagement that this show has with its followers is what sets it apart. They make a point of being a part of the rugby world, being involved in it rather than just talking about it. The analysis and in-depth discussion is pure rugby and is what draws people to the pod.

100% - I saw the Crusaders comments last week and thought they were spot-on, first thing the rugby pod do is acknowledge they've seen them too and will adapt. Bravo Rugby Pod, making the best rugby show even better week-by-week.

Put some respect on TJP's name. The man has been part of a world cup winning squad, Rugby Championship winner, Super Rugby winner, and has 60 TRIES in SP. Plus try of the year. He is an excellent player, leader, and person (his outspokenness against LGBTQ antagonism, in particular). The 'Canes will be just fine with him at 9. I think it would be absurd not to have in the ABs as well given both his experience and skillset. I'm an unapologetic TJP stan and I feel like he suffered in the Aaron Smith era same way that Nick Evans and Aaron Cruden (to a lesser extent) did in the DC era. He's world class on form, but just doesn't seem to get the respect and recognition that he deserves.

Jason Holland is selecting the centres in Razors slightly convoluted selection scheme, so who knows maybe he appreciates a centre who actually distributes, doesn't think his speed alone is going to get the outside break every single time (unlike Rieko) also has a kicking game, and an existing combination with the current AB's 12. Even as a Blues fan I think Rieko is the most over-rated 13 around.

Yes 100% to the ruck clean out question. Watch how England play - its a mess. Players goal should be to step over ball and control the space so its their ball onside. Not sure if i agree with panel responses here. Often scenarios discussed dont really apply.

QUESTION: Not to be a Debbie downer as I think super has been awesome, but 15 vs 14 for extended periods is still ruining the contest of Rugby in general. Do you think changing some of the pressure yellow cards like scrum yellows, line our drive and offside 5 m out yellow cards to the offending player is off until the next stoppage rather than 10 minutes, keeps the contest alive but also gives the attacking team an advantage to score more tries as you can't just grind away for 10 minutes. It also stops a game going from a tight contest to a blowout when 2-3 tries are scored in the 10 minutes of yellow card.

Well it was good of Sky to finally let this show have some game coverage to go along with the analysis, rather than letting that awful show The Breakdown hog it all while JK does his rude crazy-uncle shtick for 50 minutes. It's a shame you would never know the Blues and Chiefs played last week though, and the standout performance of Wallace Sititi. Sure the opposition was poor in both games, but you can only play who's in front of you.

@@Marius_vanderLubbe in a way it allowed a rush defence to target the AB backline more due to lack of variety. Most of the t8me Smith passed so the rust defence always had a target to aim for. Because his pass was so good he probably moved away from sniping or runn8ng too much himself. With Roigard, the ABs could have played more off 9 which would have had defences second guessing what he would do so giving back lines a bit of extra time

@@geofflecren8827 Nothing Personal about Beaudy - But selection based on nepotism from the Coaching staff , not quality of form ( the whole “ class is permanent and form is temporary “ story get old after awhile ) … just an opinion - don’t get offended . The ABS lost their way years ago , picking on “ Loyalty “ Let’s be honest here - Foster was almost the worst coach statistically in ABS history for 3 years straight …. Until he was forced by the public scrutiny and the board , to take on Jason Ryan and Irish Joe Proving how important a REAL coach is . Difference being incredibly obvious and positive after their inclusion . Larger point is we need to start evolving the game , coaching , administration and selection . From the ground up . Living in the past , inc hanging on to older players is not the way forward surely !? NZ rugby has fallen shockingly behind other countries at Junior levels, like Ireland , England and France 🇫🇷.

@@NateMulder He's a great individual, every time he played 10 he made the rest of the backline worse even when he looked great himself. He's modern day Carlos Spencer. All of Barret's best historic play has been fullback or off the bench. I'll agree with your "was" our best fullback, but I'll also agree with @JP.Travelz that it's 6+ years ago for most of his form.

They worldcup year when Dmac got injured before the worldcup, that period Bouden Barret was world player of the year at 10...nobody came close to him, and with the new dual pivit attack, BB and dmac where tearing teams up.... Dmac got injured and instead of bringing Ben smitj back, Hanson chose to move Muanga to 10 and bb to 15...i believe this is wat cost the abs that worldcup and also robbed of of what would probably have been a goat career at 10 for BB... From that time BB skilset and ability to play 10,15 and 14 has been his own downfall... These coaches have used him as they see fit, and its been detrimental to his rugby on a personal level... Iv always believed he was better than Muanga, just never got his time in the saddle for any sustained period as Moanga has..... However at his current age, looking to the future.. I think his time has passed... Give Dmac the reins and let him settle and groom perofita, let BB finish at 15...and cover 10 as his been doing, atleast he will still have influence witn his experience.. My 2c
