Great career he's had, Groves, Those fantastic nights at Wembley against our very own Carl Froch, That controversial first fight followed by the infamous 80'000 second fight, which unfortunately for Groves he came up short in, But.. still a stellar resume with wins over Degale, the dangerous eubank, Jamie Cox, Chudinov, That 12 round war with Badou Jack over in America, what a fight that was. He's been brilliant has groves, the consummate professional, win,lose or draw, he always gave it his all, british boxing will miss him, and us here at sky will certainly miss him.

Joe Cook Carl has always had a bit of a snobbish attitude and never showed anyone respect. When Groves fought Froch he gained massive popularity because he actually talked shit to Froch and made him very uncomfortable and people loved it.

Got to the final of the world Boxing super series as a champion and went out on his shield. Has earned a truck full of money and left the sport in good health. An Amazing intriguing career dispite his losses hence the reason you watched the video had a read through the comment's.

@Shlomo BergsteinowitzI wouldn't say 30 year old with a f#%ked shoulder is Quiting in his prime. Putting Eduard Gutknecht in a coma and disabling him for life changed Grove's. There's nothing wrong in admitting defeat to the better man and knowing when to walk away from boxing as long as he's at peace in doing so. I don't think he will be to arsed about his critic's either way.

Groves reminds me of a young fighter I train with who has the potential to go far. If you didn't know him you would think he is obnoxious, arrogant and slightly aggressive but he is just really pragmatic about everything. It's refreshing to hear Groves talk so honestly about his successes and failures. Groves has provided everybody with some boxing memories we'll never forget and helped build a platform for this golden era of British boxing.

@PeteP164723 жыл бұрын
Agreed mate! If you watch Froch's legs when he gets up from that right-hand in the first round, he's completely gone when he stands up, but his chin meant he could recuperate quickly. Think if that had have been earlier on the round, it could've been a different story altogether.

You have to give it to George Groves in that first fight with Carl Froch. For the first six to seven rounds Groves out jabbed and outboxed Froch. Only sheer will from Froch and Howard Foster being over protective in stopping the fight prematurely meant that George Groves was robbed of the opportunity to beat Carl Froch. That being said Groves did look tired and Froch was coming back strong.
