I just love how the younger generation seems to nearly always pick Alonso as their f1 hero or favorite driver, It is because they see the real talent and passion the man has for the sport and what a great character he is. Man I wish he was in f1 forever, enjoy him while he is back there will not be another like Alonso.

Luca dimontezemelo ex head of Ferrari says alonso is at least top 3 best ever to pilot for the scuderia And insisted on at least He has had several world champion team mates , beaten every single one of them on the same car Benetton have him as their best ever driver ( Schumacher also won world championships with them, yet…) I’ve been following formula one since 1992 (mansel era) and the fastest on one lap I’ve seen is hakinen the most FairPlay Webber; the best mental either alonso or Schumacher ; But if you ask anybody following the sport who’s the highest iq in the game and the one that shows more heart it’s always alonso Skilled, intelligent, hungrier than the new generation and will get more points than what should be for the car he is riding, simply a problem for fellow competitors and a blessing for fans

I can't say not for everyone. But Fernando being so inner on himself and thoughts sort to say. That leaning, and going down was just real appreciation on the fella. He was confortable talking it might be a woldwide thing but here in Spain you just lean on the table when you're fine and feel fine to do so.

The other person who replied is talking absolute crap, Rowe is looking really good. Had his first official Indy NXT test today and was instantly on the pace, ended the day in P3 out of 21 drivers (most of whom are far more than experienced than him) If Rowe continues to develop at his current rate, he'll be in IndyCar by 2025/26 and then possibly F1(if he wants to) after that

Myles is a cool kid, interesting to follow his story thus far. Hopefully he takes Indy by storm & maybe does F1 one day. But like how he's following the American dream via Indy & doing his own thing....then again racing in Europe is sadly mostly just for rich kids.

Sadly true about the cost (£30M($36.5M)) minimum to have a chance at F1 if you have the talent). The problem for American drivers is the competition. There isn't any, so anyone half decent never gets pushed to improve and therefor never gets good enough to race in the UK (where the vast majority of successful drivers go to learn their craft) or anything approaching F1. A decent American driver has not existed since the 1960's.

@@sighfly2928 Agreed, in recent times other than Hamilton, Ocon, Vettel, Bottas, very few drivers who don't come from at least upper middle class background. Everyone else has millionaire parents or very least went private school & did 5/6 figure karting before being signed to teams.

Rowe is the first African-American to win a single-seater title in the United States. He is the 2000 USFPro champion and as champion has won a $664,500 scholarship to compete in Indy NXT next year, the prelude to IndyCar. Good luck Myles!
