That's why I always say that we as madrid fans should be apologetic towards bale. We made him not want to play football, imagine that. In every single important/tough game (where the defenders actually defended) Bale played, he was non-existent and they lost, hence them getting there worst league finish in over 12 years. I know because I actually watched the games instead of looking up a stupid statistic with no context. Those players you listed all either had awful seasons, are young midfielders, or had injuries that put them out for over a month. Compare him instead to Cavani, Iheanacho, and Jota who had similar minutes and goals but played against much better teams including Europe. Willock nearly scored as many playing for Newcastle against teams like Man City, Leicester, & Liverpool.
