I don't think he's good enough to win the ballon d'or, no matter what club he's at. He's good, but not ballon d'or material. If you enjoy your time at a club, they treat you well, pay you fairly and the fans worship you, sometimes the grass isn't greener somewhere else. Many good/great Liverpool players have made the mistake of leaving the club and struggled/under performed, I think Trent would be one of them.

I love the line. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want loyalty or to hate on players that are not loyal. Liverpool have him his chance and are competitive. If they can offer competitive wages. It's not unreasonable for the fans to want loyalty, but in football there's very little loyalty anyway, clubs force players out all the time, and realistically I don't think Liverpool are offering Trent a competitive contract to what other clubs will because they assume coz he's a home grown player he should stay for less than he's worth. I don't think there's anything wrong with Trent moving on, he has ambition, he wants to play in a different league and country and he wants to play for the biggest club in the world. He only gets one quite short career, he should be allowed to go where he wants. IMHO it would be pathetic if Liverpool fans hate on him or boo him if he returns to Anfield with Madrid, although it would be nice drama, it just would be unnecessary

People don’t REALLY think about it do they, if he goes to madrid there’s no way he wins the balon d’or cus vini, mbappe or jude will be in that team getting better numbers than him. If he goes to madrid and somehow scores in the quarter, semis and final to win the UCL maybe he’ll have a shout but how realistic is that from right back. His best chance at doing it is staying at a club with less star players like liverpool and winning the prem and UCL which is likely with pep leaving in the next 2 years and slot looking good.
