Stephen Warnock spending this entire video saying how brilliant Emery is - and he is a very good coach - but he completely forgets how the same coach failed at arsenal: a club with similar expectations and pressure to United. At a club like United, if you draw 1-1 with Bournemouth at home - like Villa did at the weekend - the vultures that are the press and also the inflated expectations of the global fan base bleed into the atmosphere of the club. Similarly if you only win 8 league games out of the last 21 last season, the press are all over you at Manchester United and arsenal. However, at Villa, unai Emery, a fantastic coach, is able to get on with his work without incessant media bashing and it yields fantastic results. That’s despite the fact that when he was sacked at arsenal, you heard all the same stories you will hear about ten hag, about how the players were “confused by the tactics” bla bla bla Ten Hag would be a brilliant manager at Villa and Emery would find it difficult at United, despite his excellence, because of the reasons above. The United job, much like the England one, is becoming a poisoned chalice because of the bloodsucking media and also the weight of expectations. It’s a massive job for whoever brings United back and imo they will need time. For my money, Ten Hag will go to another club and win trophies.
