Why does media treat Pep so differently than other managers. Almost every manager in the world has gone through similar spells of bad results and football. This is nothing new. And if Pep can't handle a string of bad results then its on him to control his emotions and fingernails. If this was someone like Mourinho or Conte media would just shrug it off saying they are overreacting and arrogant. But when its Pep oh no lets all chip in for some Rehab sessions for the Multi-millionaire.

The point is whether the larger issue of schedule overload across the game is having the type of unhealthy pressure for players and managers at large. If the profile of Pep and Man City and all others (Kloop, Potter, Tuchel, Flick, Xavi, etc.) is what wakes everyone up to the larger expectations of the modern game then its appropriate to frame the discussion around that example. It’s clear for all to see the issues here. Try and see beyond the losing streak. Fans have been spoiled with year around football for the purpose of money. Is it all really worth it to ruin peoples lives, chew the best at it up, and cause them to leave the prematurely? This is about working conditions in general, not empathy as you suggest. Football has an ugly habit of being ruthless with human beings. Perhaps that ruthlessness does not belong in a sport. It’s only there due to fan expectations. Players and managers no longer support the relentless grind. They see its shortening their careers and earning potential. Fans don’t benefit, because you don’t feel your favorites at their best most of the time. Fans need to get a clue.

Take it up with them if you don't believe it. Now that is 270m less than you've just said they spend sir. So why are you lying? They've just reported record profits yet again, and won plenty of titles which bring in extra money, so spending half a billion is fine. Spare a thought for relegation battlers like Wolves and West Ham managers knowing if they fail people will lose their jobs cause you going to the Championship and not missing Champions League. Don't accept high pressure jobs if you will suddenly cry when it gets touch. We didn't hear ANY of this drivel when he won the treble and was reinventing football with inverted wingbacks and all sorts of "new stuff". If you Pep are tired then leave and go rest. Not sign a new contract. The cost of success at this level is high pressure.

The premier league will be such a better league without Pep and his version of city. We will get proper attacking exciting football after a few seasons and people will stop with this boring boring boring shite city have imposed on everyone for the last 6 years. Jog on pep and don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

Have never seen Pep consult with another coach while on the sidelines...feel he needs support while during a game, to share the stress/strain of a match at this level...agreed that the top teams do play too many matches...it is not fair to either the coaches or players...they are "burning" out before their time...the owners must realize that there is a lot more to the game than selling seats...it is actually part of the fabric of the country and should be respected as such!

The top teams are going to be playing all year around with next to no time off - maybe the answer is to do what Chelsea are doing and have a much bigger squad with lots of rotation. And rotate the managers as well. Like give the deputy manager all the cup games or something.

This is the same media that screws coaches and players. Look at Marcus Rashford right now. He needs help more than what the media is doing to him. Am glad they have realised players and managers are not machines.

Like all empires before them, even the sky blue dynasty of Manchester must bow to time's eternal tide. Their fortress of trophies and records, built grain by grain through years of dominance, now faces the inevitable waves of change. For just as the most magnificent sandcastles on the shore must eventually yield to the sea, so too must every great team weather seasons of struggle. Yet in these moments of vulnerability lies the true measure of greatness - not in remaining forever untouchable, but in how one rises again when the waters recede.

A lot of conjecture and speculation. One thing that has always confused me is how the English media always craved personality from players and managers. And as soon as the former or the later shows it there is scrutiny. It Often leaves me Bewildered

"Within the English psyche" as to wanting a top dog to fail. Please! This is silly. Such is not the case in Scotland or Ireland or Spain or Italy Anywhere, for that matter? But his and Kaveh's concern for Pep as a person is commendable.

People lasting as long as Fergie are long gone. Even Fergie did not coach as such for the last decade. I reckon 10 seasons is now the maximum at one club.

The football authorities FIFA and UEFA are pushing players and managers to breaking point and there needs to be a total rethink of how many games are being played at the top level

I don’t understand why all these people are talking this way just because it’s Pep ,there’s loads of other managers that goes through this all the time and none of them is getting any sympathy from the media ,it’s part of the job ,let him get on with it …….look at Ten Hag

Fergie was unstable winning or losing. This reaction is a process, I think if he stays the season, this will fuel his hunger to rebuild and become even better. Nobody was worried when Fergie lost it booting a shoe at Beckham, Pep is volatile aswell, I’m sure Pep can handle it - he knows he can walk away a great.
