A four-year ban seems excessive. Call me crazy but, I can't help but feel that factors like his skin color and religion play a role in this.

Let's be honest: Pogba was dealing with seismic issues outside of futbol. His family definitely destroyed his prime & this doping scandal was just an addendum to a litany of problems that truncated his prime. Pogba was always preternaturally talented but unfortunately his body crumbled often & his usefulness was marred by the high pressing revolution that requires people like De Bruyne to run manically. He was never athletic and at 31 with extra weight he will need to follow Antonio Conte's diet if he is to return at the top. Put it differently, Pogba belongs to a different era because at this moment midfielders need legs and marathon lungs to press. Even in Serie A where the tempo use to be slow the midfield of Inter Milan/Atalanta/Napoli are mostly the running kind. So if he comes back his career might suffer the fate of Joao Felix/Ozil whose ephemeral genius is not prized by the managers of today.
