Great video dude. Few questions: 1) I originally thought that the Hydro2 Foam would be a really weak version of Hydro2 Lite. From this video I'm now under the impression that they both bring the same level of protection? Would that be a fair assessment? 2) Can I use Hydro2 foam literally every time I wash my car? Would that be overkill? 3) I've used Hydro2 Lite in the past with reasonable success, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fact I had to do one panel at a time (alternating between tools, rushing, etc). Is it safe to say that another advantage of the foam version is that I could blast the whole car with it in one swoop and then take it all off in one swoop? If that is the case then I would be all over the foam. I see what you mean with it being less likely to streak and bring high spots or whatever too, another added bonus in that it seems to give you a bit more time... Thanks
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, Great questions! 1) Yes, very fair 2) Yes you can. Yes, imo it would be overkill unless you only wash your car once a month or more. 3) With Lite if you do everything really fast and are in an environment where it does not dry fast and your paying attention to where the wind blows any mist onto other areas... then you can do about 1/4 of the car at a time but we hate for anyone to deal with streaking and better safe than sorry so we say one panel at a time. With FOAM I would say you could safely do half a car at a time in most environments as long as surface is really cool and in complete shade. Basically you do not want to to start drying... There are a lot of variables. On a coated car it is going to run off faster and dry faster... I prefer to just apply Hydrofoam directly to a wet mitt and rub it across 1/4 of the car. Spray off with hose, then move to next 1/4 of car, etc.

Is it worth putting Hydro2 foam on a clean washed car, washed every month, but not decontaminated? On the other side it is is not a proffesional, expensive coating... What do you think? Will Hydro2 Lite be basically the same as Hydro2 foam? Could I use it on touchless car wash after washing and before drying? I mean quickly spray whole car and rinse it?
@SkyCarCare

If you want the car to bead better and be glossier then it is worth it. If it is already in amazing looks and function then maybe not worth it. No, definitely do NOT spray it on the entire car at once because if left too long it can leave streaks. Yes, Hydro2 Lite and Foam both do similar things but have differences. Please watch the video here closely and read our description in our store at skycarcare.com for how to do it right.

Hi. I've just had my new car finished with a ceramic coating, and was given some CARPRO Hydro2 Foam. It states on the bottle to dilute to a 9:1 ratio, so am I right that I use all the 0.5 litre bottle to make 5 litres of the mix for the one clean/polish? Or, do I clean the car normally and, say, then just make enough (a litre at a time) to coat the car? Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I am so easily confused. Have a great day, Bill. :)
@SkyCarCare

Hi Bill, great question! The way I use it is to wash the car with Reset. THEN while still wet, I just pour an ounce of product directly on my clean wet wash mitt and rub it across the roof and hood and rinse off. Then add a bit more to the mitt and do two more panels. etc. If you look on our website at Sky's the Limit Car Care then you can see our detailed tips for all 3 methods of Hydrofoam use. Hey! I was wondering why my Hydro2 Lite doesn’t react with the water. It has been on my shelf for over a year and I used it again today, it doesn’t form that webbing effect when i sprayed it on water, and when i rinsed it it only improved a little. There are also white stuff that forms inside the bottle, i think its the ceramic,maybe? Do you have any thoughts about this? Thanks!

If it is not having any affect, it sounds like it has gone bad. Shake it well, then do a test on the panel of a car that does not have any protection on it. If that test confirms it is not working then reach out to who ever you purchased it from for replacement or store credit.

@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 5 ай бұрын
Hi Kene, thank you so much! It will depend on the texture of your concrete. If there is any grit to it then it will not make it slippery. Only if it is really smooth like slate or smooth marble or something. You could do a small test by intentionally applying it to a small section of concrete off to the side and testing its slickness if you want to feel confident and be safe and not sure of your grit/texture. Best, Corey

@SkyCarCare

Thanks for watching and the question! You want 1 ounce of HydroFoam for every 9 ounce of water. In reality it depends on what setting your foam cannon is on as to how much it is going to dilute the hydrofoam as you run it... I would advise just putting 2 ounces of Hydrofoam in your cannon and 10 ounces of water. That makes it a 1:5 dilution in the foam cannon but it will be diluted much more when you turn it on and run water through it.

Foamed my truck (outside in a very cool shady spot), quickly wiped down, then rinsed what I thought was thoroughly (I've been accused of over rinsing). Took the truck into the shop, blow dried it. Then, I noticed possible streaking in some areas. Wiped the entire vehicle down with diluted Mckees rinseless wash (detail spray) and MF towels. Seemed to work. I may have missed some spots. Hi Jason, thanks for the comment! If you get to them RIGHT AWAY then its possible to get them off as you found however once cured they will not wipe off. They will eventually wear off after months OR you can remove them easily with a light finishing polish and towel. Please note that if you have a ceramic coating on underneath that it would be damaged by the use of a polish however.

Would you say Lite is diluted 1:6 or closer to 1:10? Hi Karl, thanks for watching - here goes with your Q&A. 1 - Yes, all of them can be applied at those temps but I wouldn't do it any lower. 2 - Yes, the sample of Hydrofoam you have could do a few panels. The sample of Hydro2 Lite could so a couple few panels. And if you have a 50ml bottle of concentrate (sample) then that is to be diluted 1:10 which means it makes 500ml! 17oz of product which would do a CX-5 like 10x over. 3 - No, you do NOT need a pressure washer and in fact I do not use one with them. You do need a hose with somewhat decent water pressure to avoid issues. (READ OUR FULL TIPS ON EACH PRODUCT on our website) skycarcare.com 4 - The Hydro2 and the Hydro2 Lite are essentially the SAME product... One has simply already been diluted. So dilute the concentrate as I noted and just dump the little Lite sample in with it.... same thing. You will find all other tips on our website if you didn't watch the video above. So it’s a spray and rinse product. Seems cool. I think you made it sound harder then what it needs to be. There are many products on market like this. So just spray and rinse. When you make it sound harder to work with you will deter people from buying that product. Just something for you to keep in mind.👍🏻

We appreciate the feedback. We try and focus on all this facts to ensure our customers get the best application each time. We understand our (warnings) may turn off some potential customers, but we would rather go more in depth on the things to consider and potentially lose a few people, then have a bunch of customers install it incorrectly, and then have a bad experience with us, the product, and the brand. Can HyroO2 foam be used on top of Reload? Or vice versa?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
technically yes but it is not very well suited. We would not recommend it. You are better off choosing one or the other at a time. On e one is worn off some then you could switch.

@@SkyCarCare Would it be ok to just rinse off Hydro with a pressure washer?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 7 ай бұрын
Technically yes you can, however if the pressure is too high relative to the volume of water then you can blow the chemicals around faster than you rinse them off and this can cause it to streak which you do NOT want with this product. @@blackpanda7612

Hi, can i use hydro2 lite on top of wax car?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare Жыл бұрын
You wont need wax if you are using hydrolite. And because the hydro2 lite is a stronger product, we would recommend that being your base. There is a chance it wont bond properly if the Wax is beneath it.

Looking to buy Hydro2 foam and MTM Hydro Snow foam cannon from you guys. Question on dilution ratio when using a foam cannon. I get that you cut it 9:1 when placing it in the jug of the cannon, BUT what setting do you put the cannon at? As the cut ratio coming out of the cannon will be different depending on how much solution you tell the cannon to mix with water. If it's 9:1 in the bottle of the cannon, it's going to be much less coming out of the cannon.
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, your exactly right! 1:9 is the most we would cut it and if your placing the cannon on a higher dilution setting then cut it less (like 1:4)
@JRHAWK9
@JRHAWK9 2 жыл бұрын
@@SkyCarCare Only issue is, this is assuming the foam cannon cuts it LESS than 1:9 when adjusted for max foam. If it ends up cutting it, say, 1:15, there is nothing one can do but fill the tank at full strength.

Can this be used on ceramic coatings?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan, yes it can but we prefer Hydrofoam for ceramic coated cars that are already hydrophobic for the reasons I mention in the video. It works better on surfaces that are more hydrophobic. Clings to the surface longer, and is more easily controlled application.

What is the difference between Reload/Elixir and Hydro Foam?
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
Hydro2foam is applied with a mitt or foam gun and rinsed off. Elixir and Reload are applied in a spray and wipe. The chemical makeup is different as well.

@@SkyCarCare thanks I put CQUARTZ 3.0 UK on my cars recently. I plan on using elixir as detailed and Reload every so often…to keep up the protection. Is that a good approach or should hydro be part of my process? Thank you
@SkyCarCare
@SkyCarCare 2 жыл бұрын
@@tomrakusan1179 If you are using Reload every 6 months and then just detailing with Elixir even once a month you would have more than adequate protection. At that point hydro2 would be overkill!. When it comes to Reload and Hydro2, think of it as a "Either, Or" not something you need to use both of.

Please help. I usually dilute concentrated rinseless washes in a one-gallon distilled water jug then pour the mixture into a spray bottle as needed. For Hydro2 concentrate (I don't have a pressure washer to use the Hydro Foam), is my calculation correct to dilute 12.8 ounces of concentrate with one gallon of water?
